• `Business Ethics at Felician College

• Felician College does require all business students in their Junior year to take a 300 level course, “Ethics in the Corporate Environment” as part of the business core.

Exclusive reliance on one required course is institutionally and pedagogically misguided.

This Ethics course is used as an assessment course before student graduate.

• ` Conclusion

• Students recognize the importance of ethics and ethical issues and appear to be willing to take courses in ethics. At a minimum, they recognize the need to discuss ethics within each of their courses.

• We also conclude that students want programs that teach them how to handle problematic ethical situations and how to avoid becoming involved in them in the first place.

• Just as business students need to develop tools and skills to aid them in the decision-making process in management or marketing, they also need tools and skills for ethical decision making.

DIVISION OF BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

• ` Conclusion

• Through our research, we believe that the inclusion of ethics in the business curriculum needs to be tackled in two ways:

• As the topic of a stand-alone course, which is part of the business core requirements, and

• Integrated within all courses, allowing students to see how ethics relates to specific academic topics.
