Since the late 1980’s when Terminals 2 and 3 (T2 and T3) were constructed, there have been many changes in the way an airport terminal has to operate both in terms of passenger and bag screening, the way airlines process passengers at ticketing and baggage claim, as well as changes in aircraft fleet mix and flexibility of passenger gate positions. Efforts to accommodate these new processes and federal security requirements within aging infrastructure have resulted in a reduced level of service for our passengers. The proposed project would:

PROJECT STATUS AND ESTIMATED SCHEDULE All projects at LAX require local approval and environmental clearance, as dictated by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). In order to fulfill CEQA requirements, LAWA has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) for the LAX Terminals 2 and 3 Modernization Project.

PUBLIC COMMENTS Written comments on the Draft EIR will be accepted during the 45-day public review (February 23 to April 10, 2017) and at the public meeting/workshop on March 21st (6:00 to 8:00 pm) at the Westchester Senior Citizen Center, 8740 Lincoln Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
