Editors Desk...I am extremely happy in releasing the half-yearly

newsletter, highlighting the activities of the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department between January 2015 and June 2015. A thought that has been enduring in mind when it becomes real; is truly an interesting and exciting experience. This news letter was one such cherished work that had its roots in the persuasion. It would be a snapshot of the various activities and advancements for all associated with E & TC department. Proper communication plays a vital role in institution's and department development. This news letter will serve to reinforce and allow increased awareness, improved interaction and integration among all of us.

Usually we fail to appreciate the good deeds of many people and activities that happen around us as we are engaged in irrelevant talks and assumptions. It could all change if we just pause to think of what is our contribution to the society from which we have been gifted with this blessed life. The progress of the society is mainly depends on many people who are working behind the scenes, overtime round the clock planning things to the smallest. This news letter will be a medium to provide proper acknowledgement and respect all of these efforts and its results. This newsletter is intended to be published twice in a year. This issue is a brief account of the important events held up to June 2015.It is my pleasure in congratulating the editorial board on this pleasant occasion of releasing the newsletter. It is expected that wide support for this mission will be provided through the reader's valuable suggestions and comments. This is only a small step towards a long journey. To achieve progress and to meet objectives we have to cross numerous milestones. Farewell function As per tradition of our department, this year farewell function has been organized for the final year students on 27th April 2015.During this function final year students have shared their experiences, views and emotions regarding department, faculties and friends. All thsese outgoing students were guided by Head of ETC department Prof.(Dr.) S. A. Patil. During his speech he expressed his views about future opportunities and challenges to be faced due to changing industrial needs and rapidly growing technologies.To encourage involvement of the students in the project work and to appreciate the efforts taken by the students in successfully completing the project, every year “Best Project Model Award” is presented. The first meeting of DAB was held on 7thMarch 2015 at DKTE. During this meeting, final discussion was held on Vision/Mission statements of the department. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) and Program Objectives (POs) of the program were discussed and scripted accordingly. Along with this, the discussion was held on the issues like, academic enhancement activities, activities encouraging industry institute interaction, activities regarding training and placement, devising activities towards societal services, inviting suggestions for additional contents to achieve the Program Educational Objectives &Program Objectives etc. All the members have shown keen interest as well as took participation in meeting and came up with concrete solution for the discussed topics.

Tech-Symposium 2k15

On 25th February 2015, D.K.T.E'S Textile and Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji has organized National Level Technical Event, “Techsymposium 2K15”.In this event two technical competitions “Microtech 2k15” and “Project Contest 2k15” were arranged by Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department. 8051 Microcontroller Programming contest has been conducted under Microtech 2k15whereas different technical ideas in the form of hardware setup as a project were presented by the participants in “Project Contest 2k15”. More than 90 students from different Engineering Institute nationwide were participated in this megaevent.

Industrial Visits and Training

This year 60students from third year have completed four week Level-B industrial trainingin Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited [BSNL-A Government of India Enterprises] at Regional Telecom Training Center [RTTC], Chinchwad, Pune, during 22th Dec. 2014 to 17th Jan. 2015.
