A
n elan of spring
season draped
DLFPS withmerriment, rejoice and
buoyancy marking the
Recognition Day
Celebration on Feb 2809.
The nimble feet of 800
DLFites of pre-primary and
primary classes swayed
beauteously to present a
virtuoso Musical Ballet The
Giant Lesson, an adaption of
Oscar Wildes
The Selfish
Giant. Of
all the character traits
people strive for in the
lifetime, the one that
continues to be the
most elusive is
selflessness was
the message brought
to surface by the
little ones. Theyconveyed it
beautifully
through the most
vivid example of a
Giants
transformation
of heart as he
realizes how
important is love to
everyone.
The school grounds got
embellished with a
splash of colourful
flowers and the
Giants huge
castle was the
hub of
attraction
for all. The little
giant-hearted kids
made their parents
plunge into the
mesmerizing spring season.
The tiny tots made a jubilant
attempt to teach them a profound lesson
that Gods unselfish gift encourages us to be
filled with joy and that children are important
to our world, they are the symbol of spring,
happiness and playfulness.
The
mega convention was
blazed by the presence
of Dr. Janice Darbari,
the Consul General of
Montenegro in India
and a very renowned
journalist, members of
the School Managing
Committee, and 2000
parents. The
thought that
Every Child is Special, being the warp and woof of
the school ideology, each child was recognized
for his/her distinctive quality. The prestigious
Vranda Harmonious Student of the Year Awardwas bestowed upon Shreya Sethi, a Pansy of
class-I. Various other prizes in other categories
were also awarded to the outstanding DLFites.
Mr. Rakesh Khullar, the Chairman, welcomed the
venerated Chief Guest, Dr. Janice Darbari; Dr.
Mrignaini, the Executive Director, extended a cordial
welcome to all and rendered an account of the
enigmatic
and prominent
life of Dr.
Darbari. Mrs.
Seema Jerath, the
Principal, in her
annual report
apprised the
audience with the
credits earned by
the DLFites and
the success stories
churned out.
Dr. Darbari,
during her
interview with the
Editorial Board accentuated that deep
nationalism is primal to become a good
journalist and underscored that whatevera journalist writes must have a golden
line of truth in it. She relayed a message
to the budding journalists Keep up the
good work, go for your goal and dont
stop!
Parents appreciated the little kids and
learnt a significant message that

The May09 CBSE boardresults proved beyonddoubt DLFPSs two
word Success Mantra "Workworks!"That we are ahardworking, result orientedschool was corroborated withthe declaration of the CBSEboard results when out of 120children who appeared , 44scored an aggregate of more than90%.The 90 plus percenters increasedsignificantly this year in both classes X &XII- a success of the collective efforts ofthe entire Team DLFPS. Congratulations toall!
There was no one giant step that did it.It was a lot of little steps over a period of
years. It was partly due to our belief thatanything less than a conscious commitmentto peak personal performance is anunconscious commitment to weak personalperformance.
Inkeeping
with ourresolution to move towards a globalconnect, striving to train our DLFites tobe global citizens, we have recordedsuccess in numerous such venturesincluding our 2 DLFites Navya Gupta &
Sakshi Aggarwal who excelled at theSouth Asian Yoga Championship in
Thailand this month & contributed to Indiawinning the championship as well as withthe start of a relationship with South Koreathrough the Skills Exchange Programme.
We at DLFPS are in tune with theKaizan philosophy of incrementalcontinuous improvement, the aim being tobecome a selective school benchmarking its
own standards of quality with a continuousendeavour to create a culture of excellence. At present, we attempt to address the issueof todays world becoming materialistic &self centered though our most recent
innovation The Goodwill PiggyBank. This is a subtle attemptat sensitizing our DLFites &inculcating in them the abilityand desire to appreciate, toacknowledge with gratitudethe good deeds of those whohelp them. We hope that thiswill improve interpersonalrelationships across theschool.
By recording our dreams& goals on paper & sharingthem with our stakeholders &well wishers we hope to set in
motion the process of becomingthe institution we most want tobe.
The mentor, the leader and theinspirer: Late Shri Darbari Lal Ji, DLFFamily misses you, Sir ! DLFPScelebrated its 13th Foundation Day on15th January, when every DLFiteremembered the spirit behind the School,Late Shri Darbari Lal Ji with pride intheir eyes and a cluster of innumerablefeelings of tribute and gratitude in theirhearts.

Sister Lydia Fernandes, a member of WCCI, Dean
Faculty of Education, Mangalore University
along with Sister Carissima paid a visit to theschool on March 09, 2009. She talked about
three qualities which mark the personality
of a teacher i.e. ASK Attitude, Skills and
Knowledge. She focused on two faces of
knowledge - Personal and Prescriptive
and affirmed that it is mandatory to
change the prescriptive knowledge to
personal knowledge by implementing
personal values, skills and experience.
She imbibed in the teachers the values
and skills required for creating a
healthy class environment.
The students of class VIII along with
Apney children under Apney foundation
launched the Cleanliness Walk on 12
February 09 as a part of Community
Development Programme of the
curriculum under the guidance of Ms.
Anuja. The objective was to inculcate
the value of cleanliness, health, hygiene
and sanitation among the people
residing in the neighbourhood of the
school.The walk became even more
special when the Municipal Corporator
of the town Mrs. Rashmi Gupta, the
Chairman of DLFPS, Mr. Rakesh
Khullar, the Executive Director, Dr.
Mrignaini and the Principal, Ms. Seema
Jerath joined the DLFites.

To mark the importance of
Republic Day every year a
Grand Parade is held in the
Capital, from the Rajghat
alongwith Vijaypath. The
creame of NCC
Cadets, selected
from all over the
country consider
it an honour to
participate in thisevent as do the
school children
from various
schools around the country.
It was a day of immense
pride and honour when 23
DLFites of classes VI to
VIII received a privilege of
witnessing the full dress
rehearsal of the Republic
Day Parade. The school had
received the VIP passes, so
the students got seats
opposite to the
Ashoka
Chakra Emblem and thus
could watch the parade very
closely. The different
regiments of the Army, the
Navy and the Air force
marched past in all their
finery and official
decorations.
The students were highly
thankful to the management
for organizing such a
fruitful
visit.
Over the years, English language has become one of our
principal assets in getting a global leadership. It
is a single tool for establishing our view
point. Considering the fact, many
initiatives have been taken by
the school to enhance the
speaking and listeningskills of the
students. One
such attempt
has been
the
organization of English Pentathlons
from time to time. Many such
productive Pentathlons were
organized by the students of
class VIII for their Juniors.
At DLFPS we believe thatschool should not be a preparation for life
but it should be life itself. To follow what webelieve, DLFPS has a Dramatics Club to its
credit. The regular club session provide anoppurtunity to the budding actors to polish their
skills. Dramatics Club is helping the DLFites tolive life to its fullest as they experience the lifeof various sections of our society. Students areinfused with the thought that acting is not justbeing emotional but also being able to expressemotions. The students have always made theschool feel proud as they won the InternationalTheatre Festival 2008. Also DLFites have
brought laurels in various National andInternational Drama
Competitions.

The excitement and zest was palpable
and evident in all the DLFites as they
enjoyed the Holi Celebrations held in
their classes. The little angels were
thrilled as they played Holi with their
friends and Mother teachers. Little kids
lost into the beautiful colors of Holi was a
perfect sight to lay eyes on. Their teacher
apprised them of the socio-cultural,
religious and biological aspect of the
festival. The little kids joyfully coloured
each others faces and were happy to see the
funny faces. The celebration rounded off with
a reassurance of power of truth given to the
students by their Mother teachers.

Sports undoubtedly is a major
aspect contributing towards a childs
growth as physical fitness leads to mental
well being too. With a vision of producing
the future sports persons of the country, DLFPS keeps organizing
sports activities in the school from the budding stage.
Children of Class III had a Mini Sports Day in which they
participated in different sports. The girls showed their sportsman
spirit in kho-kho whereas the boys were out of their breath while
participating in different types of races. The Mother teachers
were present to cheer them up and boost their confidence along
with the P.T. Teacher.

Theres no such thing as
a dragon,
It is only in your mind,
Then who can be that
person,
Who last night was
hiding behind?
There are no spooky
ghosts,
they are only in the tales,
Then who was that
with no hands or legs,
a male or a female?
There are no wizards
you surely know that,
Then who was that
with a dumpy
beard
and a
red colourful hat?
Vampires are make
believe,
they are just in films and
books,
then who was that
who entered my kitchen,
and killed all my cooks?
I often wonder and
amaze,
Will I ever find
answers to my questions,
Or keep wondering inthis baffling maze.
-Prachi Rajput VII A
If you have to depart after seven years of
a long successful, enjoyable association, it is
really difficult to express the feeling. Our son
Aman Shreshtha is leaving DLF Public
School to join Ramakrishna Mission
Vidyapith, Deogarh and we certainly feel that
we are going to miss some exciting moments
and events but the memories
will remain forever with us.
DLF Public School is truly a
School with a soul where
teachers teach with heart not
with books. Encouragement
and appreciation of students
in the form of Smiley Charts,
Feel Proud Cards, etc. are
part of the Student s daily
life. Such acknowledgements and
recognitions form a bond with the students
and give them opportunities to celebrate their
success and motivate them to continue their
endeavour. Children develop communication
and presentation skills
with Show and Tell
Activity, seminars and
other presentations. Our
son enjoyed the creative
and inspirational
methods of learning
being imparted by the
School for holistic
development and he has
lots of compliments and very few complaints
in this regard.
It is not possible to get all good things
together and just keep them at one place.
Sometimes, change is needed to grow because
continuity gives us roots, change gives us
branches. But change never means that Aman
will not remain a DLFite or we will lose our
association with the School. We believe in the
saying that We only part to meet again. And
till we meet again keep adding, keep growing,
keep motivating and keep smiling!
With best wishes,
Nilayendu Kumar & Manju

Hi everybody! In all these years, I have
learnt that life is all about your dedication
towards your work and now for my dear
DLFites , those who are in XI and XII, I
would like to say that guys . Its time to
build your
future. These
two years will
be the most beautiful years in your life.
Remember, every second counts. Also keep
in mind that neither success nor failure is
permanent, so keep working hard and
relish the result. At last, never forget my
words "Your
passion will

altitude of
your success"

Replenishing the treasure,
Once again, I was,
Oblivious of all my
tensions.
My dear Children,
Admiringly, I gazed
at you,
sobbing, crying,
smiling, laughing, singing, dancing,
learning, forgetting, falling, rising,
advancing,
transforming.While teaching, I learnt,
Many lessons of life,
I learnt, once again,
Forgotten values of life,
That bond of love and learning,
Is the bliss, forever
will I treasure,
My dear children.
My Little Children,
Inspiration of my life,Light of my soul,
Logic of my thought
My dear Children.

hence,
when Ill
look back,
at all those
memories gone
slack, put some
emotion, feel some pain, all
those pictures will be fresh again,
and then Ill see,
That big fat tree,
That art room there,
This stage thats here,
Ill see the days as they went by,
Those very feelings, that made me cry,
Ill see my friends, all my chums,
Those sunlit days, the fights we had,
Those teaching lessons, my favourite
class,
Being the first one to get the pass.
The football matches, those
cricketing catches,All that fun, that division into batches,
That last minute Science file,
The several hours, we used to while,
That face to face with teachers,
That
headon rush
of the
bike,
Those lazy
Sundays spent, I
dont
know where they went,
Those idiotic things we did, and the
savvy appreciations that were sent,
But today this emptiness,
within and out,
Should I keep quiet or
Should I shout,
These emotions I cant fight,
Its like being in a wrestling bout,
This farewell strange, to say the
least,
It s like having your last, great grand
feast,
One is very sad but he enjoys till he
drops,
The clock ticks like crazy but
time itself stops, for many of you it s just another bend,
for some like me it s the beginning of an end.

Message from Alumnus
A young man was
getting ready to
graduate out of
college. For many months he
had admired a beautiful sports
car in a dealers showroom,
and knowing his father could
well afford it, he told him that
was all he wanted. As
Graduation Day approached,
the young man awaited signs
that his father had purchased
the car. Finally, on the
morning of his graduation, his
father called him into his
private study. His father toldhim how proud he was to
have such a fine son, and
told him how much he
loved him. He handed
his son a beautiful
wrapped gift
box. Curious,
but somewhat
disappointed
the young man
opened the box
and found a
lovely, leather-
bound Bible.
Angrily, he raised his voice at
his father and said, "With all
your money you gave me a
Bible?" and stormed out of
the house, leaving the holy
book.
Many years passed and the
young man was very
successful in business. He
had a beautiful home and
wonderful family, but
realized his father
was very old, and
thought perhaps
he should go to him. He had
not seen him since that
graduation day. Before he
could make arrangements, he
received a telegram telling
him that his father had passed
away, and willed all of his
possessions to his son. He
needed to come home
immediately and take care of
the things. When he arrived at
his fathers house, sudden
sadness and regret filled hisheart. He began to search
his fathers important
papers and saw the still
new Bible, just as he had
left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible
and began to turn the
pages. As he read those
words, a car key dropped
from an envelope taped
behind the Bible. It had a
tag with the dealers name,
the same dealer who had the
sports car he had desired. On
the tag was the date of his
graduation, and the
words...PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we
miss Gods blessings
because they are notpackaged as we expected?
-Chitraansh Saxena VIII A
Grow up! You re 14,
Stop the fuss,
Home before six,
No ifs and buts!
What a mess is made out of me,
Why God did I ever turn 13?
You become rebellious
as you were never
before,
Whatever you say
makes your parents roar.
Nothing is bad from
your point of view,
the words you use are
awesome and new.
Life at school is the best,
Finally you are just like the rest.
Peer pressure or
call it peer influence,
all your studies are
now in ruins.
The teacher
tired of
forcing you to concentrate,
Throws up her hands and
resigns to fate.
Then one fine day
you scream out loud,
seeing the pimple
just before going out,
entire evening you
search and moan,
Advices from parents
just make you groan.
Why are you becoming
like that, I wanna know,
The parents favourit e questi on and
The most common reason for a row.
Every single thing
makes you frown
Adolescence turns ones
world upside down!
