Introduction
• “Frame” and “superframe” are used to refer to the same thing in different parts of P802.15.8 Draft, leading to confusion.
• “Frame” is also used to refer to something dif-ferent throughout P802.15.8 Draft, adding to the confusion.
• IEEE 802.15 TG8 already has a verbal con-sensus to use “superframe” to remove the confusion.

Summary of the Proposed Changes (1/2)
• Frame Superframe– To be in line with PAC UWB specification, but also
with IEEE 802.15.4 specification.– To differentiate from packet and other usages of
the word.• Other previous names
– Synchronization interval– Ultra-frame– Super-frame.

Summary of the Proposed Changes (2/2)
• There are other usages of the word “frame” that won’t be changed– Use of “frame” referring to “packet” (ex: “frames up
to 127 octets”, “ACK frame”, “frame check se-quence, etc.)
– PHY frame, ultra frame, super frame1, data frame– TDD frame– UWB frame
