Overview

The Microsoft Dynamics Demos (MDD) site deploys and configures an online demonstration showcasing a “Business Solution from Microsoft” highlighting Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015, PowerBI, Sharepoint, Exchange, Skype for Business, Excel Online, and OneNote. The MDD site will be regularly modified to enhance existing demonstrations and add new demonstrations to support our strategic initiatives. The goal of this demo provisioning service is to significantly reduce the time required to setup a cloud demonstration environment allowing sellers to focus on tailoring demonstrations to meet each prospects unique needs.

Demo PersonasThe MDD site deploys scenario based demonstration data built around the following personas. Login to Office 365 portal (portal.office.com) using User ID: username@<orgname>.onmicrosoft.com and Password: pass@word1.

Setup and Configuration

General OverviewThe Estimated time for setting up and configuring a demo is 90 minutes. The demo setup comprises of these main steps.

1. Create the Demo 2. Preparing the Demo PC 3. Enable Server Based Sharepoint and OneNote Integration 4. Enable Yammer Integration (optional) 5. Setup PowerBI

Login with your Microsoft Partner Network Credentials

Go to the Microsoft Dynamics Demo (MDD) Site: https://www.microsoftdynamicsdemos.com

Choose the appropriate link to sign in.

Microsoft, Concierge and TeleWeb employees login with your Microsoft Corp (@microsoft.com) credentials. Partners should authenticate using the same credentials used to login to Microsoft Partner Network (MPN).

Click “Deploy Now” beside your desired demonstration.

On this screen we need to fill in the required fields.

Click Send SMS

Click Deploy

Prospect Name: Enter a nameDomain Name: Populated based on prospect nameRegion/Language: Select your region Purpose: Select from the drop-down

We need to get an SMS code to validate the deployment.Select your country: Select from the drop-downPhone Number: Enter your Mobile Number and click Send SMSEnter SMS Code: When you get the code in text, enter it here

Once provisioning is complete you will receive an email.

The email will provide all the necessary details on the demonstration environment and links to download supporting documentation.

The same documentation can also be downloaded by clicking the “Get Script” button from the website

Preparing the Demo PC

This section is optional but useful if you utilize any applications that use Office 365 account authentication. Creating a separate profile will allow you to cache your credentials for your demo persona.

Click Change PC Settings

Click Accounts

Click Other Accounts

Click Add an Account

Enter the Office 365 email address for your Demo Persona

Click Next

Required if you would like to be able to download apps from the Windows Store, otherwise you can click “Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended)” to create a local account.

Enter the required information.

Click Next

Note: you’ll need to use a complex password, pass@word1 will not work.

Enter security information, click Next

Enter the verification code (correctly ) and click Next

Click Finish

We need to give the Demo Persona administrative permissions, so select the Account and click Edit

Select Administrator from the drop-down and click OK

Press the Windows Key

Click the Account Tile, and select the new Demo Persona account from the fly-out menu.

Enter the password and click the right-arrow to log in as the demo persona.

Click the Desktop Tile

Go to https://portal.office.com and sign in with your credentials

In the middle of the screen, click the button PC & Mac

If you are on the Microsoft corporate network you will not have Internet access under this non domain joined account. In order to obtain internet connectivity either plug in an Ethernet connection or connect to Guest wireless.

Click Install Now

On the security warning, click Run

If you get this security pop-up, click Yes

The installer will run

Click the X to close this window

Wait for the installation to complete

When the installation finishes, press the Windows Key and find and click to launch Outlook

Click Next

Select Yes and click Next

Enter the Office 365 information for your demo persona.

Click Next

Note: you must use the Office 365 login, username@<orgname>.onmicrosoft.com, and the Office 365 demo password (pass@word1).

When the auto-discover process finishes, click Finish

Select Yes or No, and click Accept

Outlook is set up!

Next we’ll set up Lync. Press the Windows Key and find and click to launch Lync

Click in the Sign-address field If your PC had the Skype for Business client (Online or On Premise) installed on the other profile if will be displayed waiting for credentials.

Enter the Office 365 Sign-in address and enter the password.

Click Sign In.

Successful sign-in! Your Lync Online profile has been setup with demo content and will display a user photo.

Launch Internet Explorer.

Navigate to the Office 365 site.

In the upper right corner (of IE9+), click on the Internet Settings icon.

Click Internet options.

In the URL type “portal.office.com” to open the Office 365 site for your region.

To properly display all functionality some Internet Settings modifications are required.

Click on the Security tab.

Click on Trusted Sites.

Click the Sites button.

Access the Trusted Sites to add some values.

In the Add this website to the zone: window, enter *.dynamics.com.

Deselect the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone checkbox.

Repeat for SharePoint Online using *.sharepoint.com.Click Close.

Add CRM Online and SharePoint Online sites to Trusted Sites.

Click the Custom Level… button.

Enable “Access data sources across domains” under Miscellaneous

Go to https://portal.office.comEnter your credentials and click Sign In.

Verify you can access SharePoint Online.

At the top right of the screen, click Sites.

Navigate to the Contoso SharePoint Online Team Site.

Close Internet Explorer. Success!!!

We will now set up the CRM 2015 Mobile Sales App

Press the Windows key. Click the tile for the Store

In the Search Bar, type CRM. Microsoft Dynamics CRM should be one of the first results returned. Click the link.

Click the Install button

You’ll get a notification when the installation is finished.

If you don’t see the Dynamics CRM tile on the main start screen, click the Down Arrow to show all apps.Select the Dynamics CRM tile and select Pin to Start.

Click the Dynamics CRM tile

Enter the URL for your CRM 2015 organization:

Example for North America:https://<orgname>.crm.dynamics.com

Click the Next arrow

Enter your user credentials.

Click Sign In

Note: you must use the Office 365 login, username@<orgname>.onmicrosoft.com, and the Office 365 demo password (pass@word1).

You’ll see this screen while the Mobile App sets up

When finished, you’ll see the mobile sales app screen!

Windows Phone Demo Setup

On your PC, download the “Project My Screen for Windows Phone” app from the Microsoft Download Center.

Allows you to project your phone to your PC for meetings using USB Connection. More details about projecting Windows Phones can be found here.

Install the CRM for Phones app on your Windows Phone. Browse the Microsoft Store from your Windows Device and search for Dynamics CRM 2015.

Install the app.

Open the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Phone app and enter you O365/CRM credentials

Enable Server Based Sharepoint and OneNote Integration

Navigate to SettingsDocument Management and click “Enable Server Based Sharepoint Integration”

Enter your Sharepoint URL and click Next

CRM will validate your Sharepoint URL. Click Next and then click Finish

Sharepoint is now setup to dynamically link to your CRM records. A new document location will be setup automatically for each record.

Please complete the following steps to enable OneNote integration, which utilizes the same Sharepoint integration technology.

Within CRM, navigate to SettingsDocument Management

Click OneNote Integration

Select the records for which you’d like OneNote enabled. Click Finish

Enable Yammer Integration

Microsoft Dynamics CRM and click on Settings.

Click the Yammer Configuration link.

On the disclaimer screen, click the Continue button to proceed

On the next screen, log into Yammer with an administrative account (for Yammer) and click Allow.

Select a Yammer Group from the Yammer Group ID dropdown and select whether or not the Yammer stream should be a Public or Private.

When you are complete you will see the following message:

Add your data connection to CRM Select Datasets and then choose Microsoft Dynamics CRM.Click Connect

Enter the oData URL for your CRM Organization.Example for North America:https://<orgname>.crm.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/OrganizationData.svc/Choose OAuth2 for the Authentication type

Note: you can find the oData URL for your CRM Organization within CRM. Click Settings > Customizations > Developer Resources (requires administrator rights).

You may have to wait up to 30 minutes for PowerBI to pull all the CRM data required for the dashboards.

The demo provisioning process has completed the deployment steps (1-5). You will need to configure the remaining steps to enable sync.

Discover connections to key people within your target accounts through your connections (Outlook, LinkedIn, Facebook) as well as your team’s connections.

Note: Login to CRM as your desired demo persona and then configure connections using your personal network data.

Known Issues

o The Microsoft Dynamics Demos site cannot currently deploy content to an existing Office 365 tenant.o USD Configuration – you may experience a login issue when connecting USD for the first time. Please make

sure you select the “Online Region” closest to your location.

o USD Package Deployer Installation Troubleshooting

You may experience installation errors when deploying the USD package. Please execute the below step to resolve issue:
