skills of electromechanical technicians. Questions are organized infour sections that cover the following topics: (1) shop math; (2)
electricity and electronics; (3) mechanics and machining; and (4)plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and weldingskills. Questions call for short answers or problem solving. For eachpage of questions, respondents are requested to rate their knowledgelevel, from one ("could use a refresher class") to 5 ("have masteredthis area"). The results of the skills questionnaire can be used todetermine where a company should focus future training anddevelopment efforts. (KC)
