Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts Inducted into TPT Hall Of Fame

Amidst the scent of Dodger Dogs and a sea of Dodger hats, hundreds of Team Prime Time supporters and Prime Time Games® participants gathered at Crossroads Middle School to induct Dave Roberts into the TPT Hall of Fame alongside SportsNet LA Studio Anchor John Hartung. Dave spoke at length about his life experiences and deep respect for coaching, leadership, and team work.

At the end of the night, unbeknownst to him, Dave was

presented with a TPT Jersey and the Dorsey HS team bat used in the inaugural Prime Time Games baseball game. Thank you to the Dodger Foundation, Dodger Legends Darrel Thomas and Kenny Landreaux, Banc of California, Kennedy Wilson, Howard Capital Management, Tennenbaum Capital Partners, Kennedy Wilson, Jonathan and Nancy Glaser and FastPay for making the day possible. TPT students at Webster MS completed their second year of the “Webster MBA Program” aka “Marshall Mentors” , and are on the verge of taking over corporate America! Thanks to students from the USC Marshall School of Business, who volunteer every week, our kids are making big plans for their future.

MONDAY MARKETS - Guided by Chris and his colleagues, we learned about the stock market and its many influencers, with each unit culminating in a mock stock challenge. The winner of the Winter Challenge went all in on NIKE because JT wore a pair during the Super Bowl Halftime show.

PROJECT TUESDAY - Thanks to Eleni and friends, we learned about the vast array of careers one can pursue with an MBA. TPT would like to congratulate Jordan for winning the annual “SHARK TANK” by securing $17,000,000 in funding.

Mystery Art Box Challenge-

Teams of students from Webster MS, Emerson MS, Marina Del Rey MS and Westside Global Awareness Magnet huddled impatiently around their tables – an identical “Mystery Box” at the center of each – waiting for the first Live Edition of the Mystery Art Box Challenge to start. In this monthly, inter-site competition, each team receives a box with identical, mystery art supplies, one theme and one hour to create a masterpiece – and they must use every item in the box. THEME? OUTER SPACE!After a lengthy deliberation, the celebrity judges, including representatives from SHARE, Inc. and TPT Patroness, Cindy Simon,

declared Marina Del Rey Middle School the winner with their project entitled “Space Bomb”. Join us on May 22nd for the Final MABC All-Site Challenge.

The Urban Art Project is just the latest way that students at Marina Del Rey MS are expressing their creativity. With guidance from TPT Art Specialist Nancy and a group of Los Angeles street artists, our students are having a truly ‘hands-on’ experience expanding their artistic horizons. The project has been so popular, and the art so impressive, that the students have been given a

wall on campus to decorate.

Manny, TPT’s Site Director and creator of the project, noted, “It’s great to see so many kids participating, especially the girls in the program. Traditionally, this kind of art has been predominantly driven by male artists. Hopefully, our girls will become role models for younger female artists.”

LMU Dance is yet another part of the Next “U” partnership that Team Prime Time has with Loyola Marymount University. Every week, LMU Dance majors visit Westside Global Awareness Magnet to spend the afternoon teaching the art of dance to 15-20 of our students at a time. “The kids are always creative and express themselves in a way I would never think of as a teacher.
