DOG EXERCISE AREAS - BEACHES Dog owners must abide by The Dog Act 1976. The City encourages responsible dog ownership within its District and to ensure the management of dogs in public places, the City has created areas where dogs are prohibited, where they are permitted on-leash, and where they are permitted off- leash. Some of these areas are seasonal and as such, residents and visitors to Busselton are encouraged to look out for and comply with signs relating to the control of dogs. DOGS ARE REQUIRED TO BE UNDER EFFECTIVE CONTROL A dog shall not be in a public place unless it is held by a person who is capable of controlling the dog or securely tethered for a temporary purpose by means of a chain, cord, leash or harness of sufficient strength. When off-leash in an approved dog exercise area the owner is required to have effective control of their dog at all times. Effective control may be defined as the dog being within eyesight of its owner, immediately obeying the voice commands of its owner even when distracted, and not disturbing or harming other people, dogs or other animals including wildlife. DOG WASTE You must always clean up after your dog.Whilst the City provides dog bag dispensers at many of our dog exercise areas, it is the legal responsibility of the person in control of the dog to clean up its droppings and to dispose of them appropriately. DOG EXERCISE AREAS - BEACHES

Dog owners must abide by The Dog Act 1976.

The City encourages responsible dog ownership within its District and to ensure the management of dogs in public places, the City has created areas where dogs are prohibited, where they are permitted on-leash, and where they are permitted off-leash. Some of these areas are seasonal and as such, residents and visitors to Busselton are encouraged to look out for and comply with signs relating to the control of dogs.
