USAR VET GROUP There has been an on-going investigation into the cause of illness in dogs associated with feeding them chicken jerky treats produced in China. Other foods may be involved. Signs and symptoms include decreased appetite, decreased activity, vomiting, diarrhea, sometimes with blood, increased water consumption and/or increased urination. These may occur within hours of feeding the contaminated food. Be aware that not all packaging labels include where the product was produced. Some labels indicate the packaging or distribution location as the US, but the product originated from China. Without a specific production location, assume China or another unknown location to be the source and avoid feeding to your dog. For more information and to report a problem the FDA link is:http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/CVMUpdates/ucm280586.htm
