Northern Thailand has been a destination for adventure and culture for many. Doi Luang Chiang Dao is a 2,225 m high mountain in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand; part of a limestone massif which wewill explore and home to many ethnic hill-tribe villages, down to the west of the mountain where flows the Mae Tang river
through scenic forest and valley.
This trek will take participants across the mountain range, down to the Maetang River valley on trails that are regularlyused by villagers. Trekkers will enjoy scenic views from the mountain as a long part of the hike is on the mountain ridges.

This trek is not a technical, however due to the altitude gains and
distance, it will be strenuous. Along with our YMCA Leader, there
will be an accompanying local guide.
Good fitness will be required. Expect to bear a load of 5-8kg for
up to 8 hours. Physical training sessions will be conducted,
attendance is strongly encouraged. A pre-trip briefing will also be
held to advise on things to bring and preparations.

Perched high up on a steep hillside at an altitude of over 700m,
the Tree House Hideaway is located within the foothills of the
majestic Chiang Dao Mountain range and overlooks the village
of Mae Mae (a small community of 200 people) The village is
made up of the lowland Thai. The majority of whom make a
living from the cultivation of fruit, Coffee and Olong Tea.

A non-refundable $250 deposit towards the programme is required to confirm a place on the trip. Reservationscannot be held without deposit. The balance payment for the land package is due 30 days prior to departure date.
If payments are not made on time, we reserve the right to resell the booked places.
