A newspaper clipping dug out from our dusty archives
which featured in the Wimmera Mail Times on the 8th of
May 1978. Tania and Susan have been busy gathering
historical documents, newspaper clippings, and photos
which will be presented in a booklet and available for
viewing on the day of our 40th birthday celebrations. It
will present an opportunity for some of you to reminisce,
and for others provide a greater insight into the history
of Dunmunkle Lodge.
We would like to thank the Minyip & District Historical
Society for making their resources available to us – your
assistance was very much appreciated.
SILO ART TRAIL & PICNIC OUTING
RE On the 28th of August several residents took to the road and journeyed along the Silo Art Trail, enjoying a
pre-packed picnic for lunch. Pictured below are the magnificent silos in Rosebery, Sheep Hills and
Patchewollock; David Collard; Geoffrey Peyton; and James Bishop.

the ‘Music Melodies’
performance and a lovely
meal together.
Sincere thanks to Pat Combs for donating a large quantity of 8 ply wool for use by our residents. We are so
fortunate to be a part of such a caring and generous community!

WIMMERA FOOTBALL LEAGUE
A huge congratulations to all teams who made it
through to the Grand Final on the weekend! We are
thrilled that Minyip-Murtoa won its first senior
football premiership since 1998, and the A Grade
netballers came through with their first ever win
since amalgamating. The B Grade netballers also put
in a sensational effort and by all accounts it was a
breathtaking match that had supporters sitting on
the edge of their seats right up until the final whistle.
The Lodge bus was put to good use transporting
Frank Pickering and Tom Wood, a member of the
‘200 Club’ to the game - they were accompanied by
Lifestyle staff Sandra Maides and Natalie Yates.
Pictured below left Tom holds up the football
Premiership Cup with coach John Delahunty; and

coach Billie Bibby. Many thanks to the players for
taking the time to bring the cups across to Tom and
Frank – you certainly made it a day to remember!
