Function Pack
Our location on Crown Street means we are ideally situated
in the heart of one of Sydney’s most vibrant areas, Surry Hills.
Using that as a basis we have created a venue with unique and
versatile function spaces, capable of catering for many different events.
From your very first enquiry, our Functions Coordinator will work
alongside you ensuring as closely as possible that all of your requirements
are met. We provide the style and professionalism you can depend upon
to make your special occasion a success. _ _ _

Function Spaces Havana Lounge Rooms
Ideal for larger functions of 80-100 guests and featuring private Havana Bar and
Terrace access, this space offers lounge style seating and can also accommodate a DJ
if required. Feel free to connect your iPod to our speaker system and double up on
the cringe factor by playing the guest of honour’s baby photos on two 42” Plasma TV
screens.
Available for Day Hire (midday – 5pm) or Evening Hire (6pm – close)
Canopy Lounge
Suitable for up to 60 guests, this space offers lounge style seating and low tables to
compliment a cocktail style event. Perfect for a completely private function, you have
your own bar, bartender and bathroom facilities. You are also welcome to use the
42” Plasma TV for photo slideshows or connect your iPod to our speaker system and
dance the night away..
Available for Day Hire (midday – 5pm) or Evening Hire (6pm – close).
Mezzanine
A casual, roped off area with scattered seating with a capacity of 30 guests. Perfect
for informal drinks overlooking the bustle of the main Hotel, or for those who want to
keep one eye on the score with views of our Big Screen. Your nearest bar on level one
is the Havana Bar, however the main Dolphin Bar on the ground floor is also close by.

The Nook
For a function of 20 guests this space gives you roped off area with stylish seating and
low tables. Situated on the ground floor between our Bistro and Rear Courtyard, you
are well and truly in the heart of the Hotel. Views of our 52” Plasma TV means this
area also suits groups who want to sit back and watch the game uninterrupted. Your
nearest bar is the main Dolphin Bar.
Available for Day Hire (midday – 5pm) or Evening Hire (6pm – close)
Havana Lounge Bar
A private room at the front of the Hotel with a capacity of 40 guests. Overlooking
Crown Street and featuring your own private Havana Bar access, this space is perfect
for a Midweek or Sunday casual get together. We offer use of our 42” Plasma TV and
iPod connectivity should you require it.
Available for Day Hire (midday – 5pm) or Evening Hire Sunday to Thursday (6pm – close)
Havana Private Dining Room
The space best suited to enjoying one of our Set Menu Dinners amongst friends or
colleagues. We can seat up to 20 guests for a sit down dinner and also offer you
access out onto the ever popular public Terrace. Havana Bar access arranged upon
request, use of our 42” Plasma TV also available.

Beverage Options
Guests to Purchase Own Drinks (GPO)
Your function is confirmed with payment of the Room Hire Fee and catering
(should you wish to order canapés). Your guests will then purchase their own
beverages. Please note that GPO does not contribute to a Minimum Spend if a
Minimum Spend has previously been agreed with the Functions Coordinator.
Service is from the Bar.
Bar Tab
The choice is yours; nominate a credit card, $ limit and inclusions. Your
bartender will update you with the running total throughout the night, once the
$ amount is reached guests can pay their own way. You choose which
beers/wines/spirits are included on the tab, we will type up a Beverage
Selection List so your guests know what their choices are.
Service is from the Bar.

If you would like a staff member dedicated to beverage table service then a
Drinks Waiter can be hired at $25per hour.
Extra Information Location
Audio Visual
The Dolphin Hotel plays an automatic playlist mix of Pub/Chart/Lounge music depending on
the time of day. IPod connectivity is available in some of the function rooms and is often in
high demand so please request early on to avoid missing out! We have an in-house DJ on a
Saturday night, however if you would like to hire your own DJ please consult the Functions
Manager.
Plasma TV screens are available in our private function rooms, if you would like to play a
photo slideshow we recommend you burn it to a DVD which we can then play for you.
Decorations
You may add your own special touch to your function by bringing your own decorations, for
example; tea light candles, flowers, posters, photos or balloons. Please advise the Functions
Manager if you are having anything delivered directly to the Hotel. As always we ask that
the decorations do not mark the room, we suggest blu-tack!
Cakes
You are very welcome to bring your own cake for special occasions, we offer two options;
⋅ DIY Serve: we provide plates, cutlery, cake knife etc for you to cut and serve
⋅ Cake Service: $25 per cake, we do all of the above for you!
Again, please advise the Functions Manager if you are having your cake delivered directly to
the Hotel.
Minors
A Minor is defined by law as any person under the age of 18 years of age, this definition
extends to babies and infants. Minors are permitted into the Function area until 10pm
when;
⋅ The Function attended by the Minor has ordered Food, and;
⋅ Is accompanied by a Responsible Adult (the Minor’s Parent or Legal Guardian)
Last Drinks
Please note that last drinks are called 15 minutes prior to the close of Hotel; we close at
Midnight Monday - Saturday, and 10pm Sundays & Public Holidays.
