Memo To: Whom It May Concern From: Dennis Douglas Date: 4/15/2014 Re: Proposed Site Dolphin Head
Please review the following information regarding the proposed Verizon Wireless site to be called Dolphin Head (P0218). Verizon Wireless is requesting permission to construct a new wireless telecommunications tower off Dolphin Head Drive in Hilton Head, SC. The proposed site is necessary to provide inbuilding wireless coverage to residential and commercial areas on Hilton Head, particularly areas along Dolphin Head Drive and surrounding golf courses. Currently these areas have poor or inadequate wireless service. The attached propagation maps show an estimate of the current and future coverage. The desired coverage level for the area is “Green”, 75dBm RSSI for 1X and 90 dBm RSRP for LTE to support inbuilding coverage in commercial structures. I have also included a map showing customers who have purchased enhancement devices from Verizon Wireless to provide coverage in their home or business. Verizon Wireless has studied the area thoroughly and determined that a tower height of 145ft above ground level is appropriate at this location to fulfill the RF requirements. The proposed tower will be designed to support Verizon Wireless’s network growth and evolution through multiple channels of 1X CDMA, EVDO, and 4G LTE service. Verizon wireless certifies that all of its equipment will be installed and operated in keeping with applicable FAA and FCC rules and regulations and appropriate industry standards. The construction of this tower, including Verizon Wireless’s installation of transmitter/receiver equipment, will not interfere with the usual and customary transmission or reception of radio, television, etc. service enjoyed by adjacent properties. Verizon Wireless certifies that the proposed tower will not interfere with Public Safety radio equipment in the vicinity.
