The appellation of Chinon is best known for its red wines, but is also a source of fine dry white wines made with the noble Chenin Blanc grape variety. Chateau de Ligré, established in 1930, consists of 30 hectares of vineyards in Chinon cultivated by the third generation of the family of Pierre Ferrand.
