ANNOUNCING …

A NEW COMPETITIVE

AT STEMM ACADEMY

The STEMM Speech and Debate Team is beginning its competitive season on

Wednesday, October 19th at 1:50 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Mrs. English's room #14. Mrs. Pauline

Buis, the coach of Niceville High School's Speech and Debate Team, has worked tirelessly to

help create a Speech and Debate Junior Division for students to compete at the middle school

level within Okaloosa County. Because of her efforts, all sixth through eighth grade-level

students are now able to be a part of this exciting competitive team. STEMM will be

competing against Ruckel and Bruner Middle schools. Members from the Niceville High

School Speech and Debate Team will be working alongside our team members conducting

all after school meetings every Wednesday. All interested students should attend the kick-off

meeting on Wednesday, October 19th. For more information, please see Mrs. English.

Who should come on Wednesday, October 19th?

This team is especially for students who love to debate, embrace rhetoric and see him or herself

in politics one day. Also, there are competitive divisions for students who are dramatic, gifted

in the theater arts, enjoy acting, connect with poetry, are passionate about prose and more. You

should come and bring a friend. There are solo, group and duo divisions.

Note: Students may participate after Science-Fair-Season has ended. All interested students

should try to attend the first meeting to get all of the foundational information. Parents are welcome to attend as well.

We look forward to seeing all STEMM-Stingers
