SPREAD PAGE 1 ANALYSIS

This is the whole image. Clearly as it is taking to much space I decided to move it to the right side of the page. IT looked really good the drop shadow made the image seem more professional as many magazine use this effect. Moving the image would allow me to wrap the text around more effectively.

masthead‘Corrosive gets xplosive’ this title I felt was very catchy and also looks very good. I used colloquial language along with alliteration of ‘sive’ I made this 3d to seem as it is coming off the page like a scientific experiment. The title links into the first question as he talks about how he got his name. It talks about a science experiment. Which links into the title very well I was certainly pleased with this.

text I added the text . Which wrapped around my image nicely as you can see it fitted well. I choose good font simple. I did not want to classy that would not fit in with my target audience. Normally graffiti is associated with hip hop but I didn’t feel this type of font was necessary. I believe the typography should be simple. As my magazine is called king I made my questions. In the main article look more quality. As I wanted the magazine to see much more class as the titles indicates ‘KING’. That's why I gave the questions a richer font

border

I added the border under my questions to make them stand out more. Which I felt added to authentic look of the magazine.

Image and floating quotes

I added another image of my artist and a floating quote. I used different typography so it can stand out on it’s own.

Final front coverOverall my final page looks really good I am very pleased with the final outcome. I believe it has a good strong professional look. My main image has good props expected conventions of a hip hop artist glasses, chains and hat. Masthead stands out brilliantly. As I have highlighted my alliteration ‘SIVE’. Also my masthead stands out ell just like my floating quote. The unique typography makes my magazine looks great.

Rejected final front cover

Although this is rejected I feel that this had great potential to be my 1st page as the star looks really good as it highlights the floating quote much better. Which is normally seen as important to the artist just to say how good he is. I had issues making the star wrap around well on the quoting image as it doesn’t looking to bad. Even I may use this to be my final front cover.
