done by Ogilvy and Mather Market-ing and Advertising Agency

History Of DoveThe brand Dove was found by ‘Lever

Brothers’The brand first began in 1957. They

only sold beauty soap bars.It was a beauty bar offering a revolu-

tionary new formula containing 1/4 cleansing cream and “Doesn’t Dry Like Soap”.

Advertisement TacticsDove endorsed every celebrity from

Groucho Marx, to the dancers on American Bandstand.

Dove beauty bar advertising fo-cused on the face and introduced the use of the "Dove Face Test",

For the Dove Face Test, "real" women testimonials were used for the first time to advertise .

Target AudienceDove targets women of all ages,

shapes and sizes.Its main targets are working women.Focuses on women who are non-

models and convey that they are beautiful.

It creates a strong personal and emotional connection between the brand and the consumers.

Dove Brand In IndiaA team close to a few women were handed trial

packs of Dove Beauty Bar.After trying out the brand, their reactions were

recorded and the most spontaneous responses (8 of them) were chosen to be used in TV ad-vertisements.

When Dove extended to shampoos in 2007, the brand decided to take the similar route.

In a span of 9 days, over 250 women were in-terviewed and 1,000 minutes of footage recorded.
