We have had a productive and exciting year filled with memorable events. The prom, which will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 will be one of the most exciting occasions. Administrators, teachers and security guards will be present to chaperone the students from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. at the Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill. I would like to emphasize that this is an off-campus, school- sponsored event and the school discipline code will be in effect. All infractions will be dealt with in accordance to school regulations. Here are the details: Tickets will be sold at Downingtown High School East between April 13 th and April 20 th during all lunch periods. The tickets will cost $85.00 per person which includes dinner, dancing, event set up, and prom favors. Students cannot buy tickets if they have any obligations. Please make checks payable to Downingtown High School East Class of 2016. No tickets will be sold after April 20th. All DEHS students must have the DEHS Student/Parent/School Agreement form filled out when purchasing their tickets. If they are bringing a guest, the Senior Prom Guest Form must be completed to purchase a ticket. Your signature on the enclosed form indicates your acceptance of the student/parent/school agreement and a clear understanding of the prom regulations. All students are expected to arrive promptly. The senior prom is a black tie event. Appropriate attire is required. Students will not be permitted to leave the prom until 9:00 pm; once a student leaves he or she will not be allowed to return. Again this year, we will be using the P.A.S. (Passive Alcohol Sensor) for all students entering this activity. This will ensure our prom will be alcohol-free. Students with a positive alcohol test result will not be permitted to enter the room; parents will be contacted, and a police referral will be made. Photographs may be ordered for the prom. The photographer will accept cash, credit card or a check made payable to SolerPHOTO. There will be 4 package options (see enclosure). A note from the Senior Class Officers: Hi Parents! This year, in an effort to show our gratitude to the Class of 2016, the Senior Class officers would like to surprise our fellow graduates with a slideshow that will be shown in the classrooms on the day of graduation. We plan on showing pictures from all ages and grades. In order to accomplish this, however, we need your help! We are asking for any pictures you might have of your child and their friends throughout their school education. In addition, if possible we would like to know the names and grades of those in the photos. We cannot promise to use each photo sent it, but we will try! You can send the photos to [email protected]. Like mentioned before, we are trying surprise them, so it would be much appreciated if this was kept on the ‘down-low’. Thank you for your help. We are looking forward to presenting it to the Class of 2016 graduates!

Community Walk Thru - You are invited to preview the Post Prom on Saturday, May 21st 7-9 pm.

Dear Senior Parents & Guardians,

Downingtown East’s Ninth Annual All Night Post Prom Celebration following the Senior prom on Saturday,

May 21st is in its final planning stages. Parents have been working since last July to bring this special gift to

our students. This is going to be an exciting event with lots of food, entertainment, and great prizes. The

Guidelines and Rules for the Post Prom are listed on the back of this paper.

Details

Place & Time: DEHS - Saturday, May 21st, midnight to 5am.

All DEHS senior students are invited, even if they do not attend the prom.

“Chemical Free” celebration: no alcohol, drugs nor smoking permitted.

Admission is FREE.

Your student may bring his/her prom date.

If your student chooses to leave before 5am you will be contacted before your student has

permission to leave.

If your student’s date is an underclassman or from another school, they and their parent

must also sign the permission slip.

While we strongly your student to sign up for the party, last minute walks in are welcome,

no Senior will be turned away.

Registration

Your student will be receiving his/her invitation and permission slip with this letter to you. To help us plan for the celebration, we will begin registration along with Prom Ticket Sales at lunch times. We ask that your student return the permission slip to us when they register. We must have a permission slip on file prior to your student’s admission to the event! You may receive a phone call to verify the information. We will hold raffle drawings for some great prizes for those students who register when they buy their Prom tickets.

Your Support

We look forward to a successful and problem-free celebration. All of you can make this a treasured tradition for our students by encouraging your student to attend. In an effort to ensure the students arrive safely at the Post Prom celebration, please make arrangements to have your child’s transportation home to be at the school so they may go directly to the Post Prom from Drexelbrook. We ask that you support this effort by not hosting a party at your house. Help us to keep all the students of Downingtown safe on this special night.

Please visit our website: www.dehspostprom.com for up-to-date information. We welcome questions and

concerns you may have and invite you to contact us.

Thank you,
