FEATURES Innovative Technical Features Benchmarking Technique - Semi-
automated Cast On Strap (COS) production, this unique production
together with a computer program (CUP) controlling welding
temperature and time to guarantee welding quality which provides
benefit of plate consistency and enhanced plate performance.
Terminals are formed in a single cast on strap operation that greatly
reduces the welding resistance of the terminals and increases their
current carrying capacity.
Valve Regulated (Sealed) Excessive Gas Absorption Construction
Deutsche Power battery is of the AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) valve
regulated (sealed) lead acid rechargeable type. The acid is suspended in
a specially formulated non-woven glass mat separator.
Exceptional Leak Proof As all the acid is absorbed in the valve regulated
(sealed) construction which provides a safe Non-spillable battery that is
leak proof.
Gas Recombination System More than 99% of gasses generated in the
normal charge / discharge use of a rechargeable battery are internally
recombined during normal operating parameters.
Electrolyte Maintenance Free Operation The separator used is made of
non-woven fabric of fine glass fibers which have high resistance to acid
and low electro-conductivity. The high porosity of the separators
retains adequate electrolyte for the reaction of active materials in the
plates. As a result, no electrolyte maintenance is needed for the life of
the battery. There is no need to add water or take specific gravity
readings.
Low Self Discharge & Long Shelf Life Because of the use of lead calcium
alloy grids, Deutsche Power battery has less than 3% self-discharge
monthly at room temperature of 25oC and it can be stored for long
periods of time without recharge.
Long Service Life Deutsche Power battery is suitable for either cycling
or standby service. For Float (standby) service, the length of service is
generally 3-5 years depending on the Operating temperature of the
battery, Method of charging utilized, Correct sizing and the number &
depth of discharges. For cycling service, the estimated battery life is
more than 1000 charge / discharge cycles depending on the depth of
discharge.
Wide Operating Temperature Range DP battery has a wide operating
temperature range of -30oC to +45oC. However, for maximum life and
safety, continuous operation over 45oC is not recommended.

Principle operation of valve regulated lead acid battery
The gassing and water loss reactions are as follows:
It is noted that the gassing reaction only generally occurs to any extent when the battery is almost totally charged. In the valve regulated battery it is obvious that water loss must be avoided. This is done by limiting the escape of hydrogen and oxygen from the battery. The design therefore accomplishes the recombination of the oxygen formed at the positive plate with the hydrogen formed at the negative plate. The reaction is as follows.
This virtually eliminates the production of free hydrogen at the negative plate to the action of recombination. However it is necessary to ensure that correct charging voltages are used. Valve Regulated Lead acid batteries are sometimes called recombinant cells because the construction provides a means of recombining the internally generated hydrogen and oxygen and the suppression of the evolution of hydrogen gas to limit the consumption of water from the electrolyte. Therefore the battery requires No addition of water during its normal life time. Deutsche Power valve regulated batteries are of the Absorbed Electrolyte type. The cells are designed so that a highly controlled amount of electrolyte is contained within a highly absorbent non-woven separator material that separates the battery plates. This type of separator construction allows the full wetting of the plates with the available electrolyte and also allows the passage of oxygen generated during charging, this method of construction is generally referred to as Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) type of construction. Valve regulated batteries are sealed with the exception of a valve that opens when excess pressure builds up inside the battery. The valve automatically reseals itself. The recombination of charge gases is accomplished by allowing oxygen produced at the positive plate to pass through the separator material to the negative plate where the recombination reaction occurs. The valve controls the internal of the battery to optimize this efficiency of the recombination reaction and minimize the possible escape of electrolyte.

Operating Instructions Deutsche Power batteries are maintenance free. However, users are recommended to follow the instructions to keep the operation safe.
1. Do not install or operate the batteries near a heat source. High temperature will shorten the service life of battery. Furthermore, avoid placing the batteries close to fire. Fire can damage the ABS container and the inside gas will be leak out.
2. Battery cover and case are made of ABS plastic resin, which can be damaged, by organic solvents or adhesives. Never use such substance to clean the battery. Avoid using oils, gasoline or any kind of thinner. Use a piece of wet cloth instead.
3. Never touch the battery terminal or conductive parts with bare hand. Wear a rubber gloves to prevent electrical shock especially
when the batteries are connected together.
4. Soldering of batteries is dangerous. A fast soldering less than 3 seconds is comparatively safer. A soldering iron with maximum power of 100 watts should be used. However, soldering is still not recommended.
5. Do not mix batteries of different brand, type, capacity, age together. Professional guidance is needed for such kind of application.
6. Good ventilation must be provided if a battery is used in an enclosed area.
7. Always leave a minimum space of around 5-10mm between batteries when they are grouped together.
8. Shock and vibration should be prevented during the operation of batteries. Fasten the batteries with shock absorbing materials in
such applications.
9. Do not disassemble the battery. There is sulfuric acid contained in a lead acid battery that can cause a serious burning on skin and
eye.
10. Never short the battery. It could burn the battery and cause damages to the connected equipment.
11. When connecting the batteries together in a series or parallel way, user should use the connecting cable of same length and
resistance.
12. Before a long period storage, it is advisable to charge the batteries so that they can remain a minimum capacity to prevent over self-discharge.

the software automatically saves files and gracefully shuts down the operating system after a user-configured time
period or when the UPS batteries are low on energy.
The intelligent software can even notify an off-site systems administrator of the shutdown by paging them through a
modem. Deutsche Power UPS Software provides other useful management functions too, such as scheduling
automatic system boot up and shutdown, monitoring UPS battery condition and logging and analyzing abnormal
utility power conditions.
All Deutsche Power Products are equipped with Smart /Rs232/USB Ports (optional) which are compatible with
commonly supported products and Ports.
