Dr. John Bennett
Dr. Bennett is a wel l-known f igure in the world of orthodont ics and has aspecial interest in developing ef fect ive mechanics for the treatment ofchi ldren and adolescents . He is an award-winning author , and has authored orco-authored seven orthodont ic textbooks. Working wi th Dr . R ichard McLaughl in and Dr. Hugo Trev is i , he developed an overal l phi losophy of orthodont ic treatment which is the method of choice in many univers i ty teaching departments around the world . Dr . Bennett completed h is special is t orthodont ic tra in ing at the EastmanPostgraduate Inst i tute in London. He was in fu l l t ime orthodont ic pract ice inLondon unt i l 2008, when he was inv i ted to jo in the orthodont ic tra in ing program at the European Univers i ty Col lege in Dubai , as Cl in ical Director . Dr . Bennett returned to the UK in 2015 to resume cl in ical dut ies , and cont inues to be at the forefront in the development of e f fect ive and ef f ic ient orthodont ic treatment mechanics .
The landmark text ‘Systemized Orthodont ic TreatmentMechanics ’ was f i rst publ ished in 2001. The method waswel l documented and was widely accepted dur ing the MBT™ era, s tart ing in 2001, but s ince thenDrs. Bennett and McLaughl in have cont inued to develop andimprove their phi losophy and treatment mechanics . Inrecent years many advances have been made. Fundamentals ofOrthodont ic Treatment Mechanics ’ was publ ished in March 2014, to document these and to br ing everyth ing up to date .
I t has been released in e ight languages, wi th more in the p ipel ine, and has been wel l received internat ional ly . I t is the latest in the ser ies of books wr i t ten to document a treatment method which has been taught to hundreds of orthodont ists throughout the Uni ted States and around the world , and which has evolved to become ‘McLaughl in Bennett 5 .0 ’ .
