F or the past fifteen years, Dr. Susan McClure Johnson has brought

honor to the name of The Links, Incorporated with her impeccable

reputation and her exemplary service. Susan puts her heart and soul

into every task she undertakes and does not hesitate to solicit help to

ensure a timely and quality product. Her personal commitment is to always

give her absolute best.

Her proven strengths are organization, planning, goal-setting and a knack for

developing the best team by first assessing talents and skills and then utilizing

each individual’s strongest abilities.

As a leader, Susan is careful to listen to and respect each member of the team,

thereby maximizing his/her contribution. As a team member, she respects

authority and supports the direction of the leader.

Since her induction into The Links, Incorporated, Austin Chapter in 1998,

Susan has served as Chapter President (two terms), Legislative Chair, multiple

terms as a Facet Chair, Parliamentarian, member of the National Effectiveness

Team and as a member of the Western Area Nominating Committee.

A great resource, Dr. Johnson is willing to use her extensive community and

government connections to enhance the programs of our Links chapter. She is

disciplined, focused, organized and willing to work hard to ensure success.

My fellow Link Sisters & Foundation Members:

I have been an active member of the Links, Incorporated since my induction in

the Spring of 1998. During that time I have served on two other National non-

profit Board of Directors. Knowing that the buck stops with the nonprofit’s

board members, I understand the importance of keeping the public in mind at

all times. I am committed to ensuring that I accept and execute all obligations

of Board membership and do all in my power to grow the Foundation in

stature and funding.

Accountability is the very heart of a board member’s duty to the Foundation.

If elected I pledge to uphold the integrity of the Foundation through:

Adherence to the articles of incorporation;

Obedience to the laws and regulations related to the mission of

the Foundation;

Preservation of the principles and standards of the organization;

Fulfilling the fiduciary trust of board members to see that the

organization functions properly; and

Ensuring integrity of actions both personally and professionally to

ensure that the Foundation is not adversely effected.
