Theme: Pro-poor Access to Urban Energy Services Slum electrification Access to sustainable cooking and heating/cooling systems Appropriate renewable energy and energy efficiency measures

for the urban poor Sustainable mobility Impact of financial strategies (including subsidies)

Above are aligned to SE4All: Energy Access; Renewable Energy; Energy Efficiency; Pro-poor mobility

Maximizing Impact of the Network• GENUS is possibly the only network addressing

energy issues of the urban poor on a global scale

• A network is only as effective as the content it offers to its targeted audience

• Refinement of the existing themes in line with the suggestions provided earlier

• Need to address pressing urban energy issues within a short turnaround timeframe

• Potential Options:o Leveraging on UN-Habitat’s outreach mechanisms o UN-Habitat’s regional and global eventso UN-Habitat press releaseso Publications: As part of an existing or entirely new UN-Habitat serieso Leveraging networks of GENUS memberso Leveraging UN-Habitat’s interaction with other UN agencies and

development partners
