Piburger Lake WormStarting point/end: Oetz Information officeRoute: In the village center you turn left at the M-Preis supermarket. Follow the road and cross the bridge. Head to the left at the carpentry, pass the children’s playground and walk along the broad forest trail (Elsinger Weg) up to lake Piburgersee. This lovely mountain lake is perfect to take a refreshing swim or to enjoy a lakeside walk before you return to Oetz. TIP: Rowing boats can be rented at the lakeside swimming center - follow the tracks of the “Piburger Lake Worm” together with your family. Sautens

House of the 7 DwarfsStarting point: Sautens Information office Route: Past the church in Haiming and the Café Alpenland, you follow the meadow trail towards the forest (this is a toboggan run in winter). At the edge of the forest you turn left and after approx. 150 m right. After a few meters you will discover the foundation walls of the 7 Dwarfs’ House to the right. And if you proceed for a bit you reach a secret cave, the mystic Knappenloch where the dwarfs used to work as ore miners. But don’t dare to walk into the cave as the stones may break off. It’s much too dangerous! Maybe you have a small spade, hammer or bucket with you. And with a bit of luck you can take a glance at one of the dwarfs who hide behind the trees. Rest stop: local inns in Sautens. Playground: in the village center (above the parish church).Walking time: approx. 45 min

Haiming

Pirates on the River Inn at the Suspension BridgeStarting point: Haiming Information officeRoute: Follow the old federal road on the left and cross the Magerbach bridge to the right. Then turn left and follow the rising road. After approx. 500 m you turn left towards the river shore where you can admire sporty rafters. A forest trail takes you on the Inn’s shores to Schlierenzau and the sus-pension bridge which still belongs to the Pirates of the River Inn. Crossing this bridge is a truly unique adventure - especially if you look down to the rushing waters and waves. If you are hungry and thirsty you are strongly recommended to take a rest at Günters Grill in Ötztal Bahnhof, which is a short detour (follow the signs). If you bring your own snack you better follow the signposts towards Riedern. On the way to Riedern you can choose from many lovely resting places with benches. Haiming is within easy walking distance from here. Walking time: approx. 3 hr

Niederthai

Petting Zoo - Larstig Alm HutStarting point/end: Car park at Niederthai Informa-tion officeRoute: You can choose from three different routes. The main, gently rising trail leads along the Horlachbach brook. A second path travels across the Grastalfeld area: first you pass the Falknerhof and continue along the quite steep trail to the Fairytale Forest and the deer feeding area. With a bit of luck you can watch a deer or chamois! The third option is a very sunny trail across the alpine pasturelands with a great panoramic view of Niederthai. All three trails meet at 300 m before you get to the Larstig Alm hut. Playground: Small playground and petting zoo with little goats, sheep and Stripsl, the pony, next to Larstig Alm. Rest stop: Larstig Alm.Walking time: approx. 2.5 hr

Page 9: Dragon-like adventures with Tabaluga for children, young guests & …ext.soelden.com/oetztal/downloadpdfs/Tabaluga_englisch.pdf · Route: Follow the road towards Wolfsegg lift. After

Ochsengarten

Little Men in the ForestStarting point: Sattele (crossing point between Haiming and Ochsengarten)Route: From the Sattele car park (panorama board) you follow the forest trail to Marlstein. Watch out for the little men in the woods! They can hide everywhere as they are really tiny. The little men in the forest wear clothes made of green moss. They love fresh fruit and berries. But they are very shy. At the end of the trail many other little friends await you at Gasthof Marlstein in the petting zoo: a horse, a pony, ducks, little pigs, sheep, goats and rabbits. Play with them and feed them if they are hungry. If you are looking for even more adventures you should continue walking on to Almhof Mareil which features a trout pond, a children’s playground and many farm animals. Rest stops: Gasthof Marlstein and Almhof Mareil.Walking time: approx. 1.5 hr
