“Flying the P” We started a new tradition on Fridays at PCHS called "Flying the P". Each week we ask faculty and staff for nominations to recognize students for their accomplishments (ex. academic, extracurricular, athletic, etc). The weekly recipient(s) sign the white "P" flag and have their picture taken holding the flag. On Friday morn-ing, the picture of the recipient(s) is posted on social media, the flag is displayed in the cafeteria, and an an-nouncement is made after the pledge.

GAPP A big Danke! to everyone who participated in the recent GAPP German ex-change program. It was a great success. A lot of long lasting friendships were forged between our guests from the Max-Born-Gymnasium in Backnang, Germany and their host families here in the Pekin area. The next major GAPP event will occur next June, when some of the German language students from PCHS travel to Backnang, Germany to live and go to school with their exchange partners for two weeks. It will be our fourth trip to Backnang. The cooperating teachers at both schools have been able to build a strong ex-change program over the past 7 years. PCHS has been a member of GAPP since 1988.

absenteeism/truancy.

To improve overall student achievement and be eligible for attendance recognition, students should attend 90% or more school

days, which means being absent fewer than 2 days a month.
