Galvanized steel is the standard finish for corrugated steel pipe. It performs well in low abrasion applications and in site conditions with a relatively neutral environment. Galvanized steel has a proven service life of 50 years minimum in non-aggressive (or ideal) site conditions. This is extended in hard water environments when zinc reacts with the calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in the water to form an additional protective mineral scale.
Polymer-Laminate coating such as Trenchcoat can extend the service life of CSP to 100 years. For structural plate products, Armtec's Strata-CAT protective coating can be applied. The strong adhesion characteristics of the polyolefin laminate with the galvanized sheet makes it the most durable coating available today. This rugged laminate creates a protective barrier against corrosive and abrasive conditions, and maintains its service life across a broad pH spectrum.
CSP COATINGS AND DESIGN SERVICE LIFE
Aluminized Steel Type 2 pipe combines the corrosion resistant properties of aluminum with the strength and durability of CSP. It is fabricated from steel coils, and hot-dip coated in pure aluminum to provide uniform thickness on both sides. It tolerates soft water and slightly more acidic and saline conditions than galvanized steel. With a 75 year service life in its optimal operating range, it is an economical alternative to concrete pipe.

BOSS 2000 combines the strength of a corrugated outer shell with a smooth inner wall to optimize hydraulics. Its 320 kPa pipe stiffness makes it perfect for storm sewer and drainage applications where certification to CSA Group Standard B182.8 and Bureau de Normalisation du Quebec (BNQ) 3624-120 is required. The pipe wall can be factory perforated and fitted with a geotextile sock for sub-drain or recharge drain applications. BOSS 2000 is also available in 210 kPa pipe stiffness (not CSA certified). With a service life of 75 years, BOSS 2000 ensures your infrastructure project will stand the test of time.

Bridge-Plate is one of the strongest and deepest corrugated structural plate products on the market today, allowing the economical construction of long span soil-steel structures. Standard spans range from 4m to 18m, with larger custom-made designs available. These Deep Corrugated Structural Plate (DCSP) structures are assembled in the field using plates curved specifically for the designated shape. An engineered backfill of compacted granular material completes the installation of the Bridge-Plate steel shell. Bridge-Plate is also available with the Strata-CAT polymer coating system for added corrosion protection.

Tunnel Liner Plate is one of the most versatile corrugated steel plate systems on the market today. Designed specifically for lining soft ground tunnels and relining existing conduits under highways and railroads, its applications extend to caissons, vertical shafts, mine entries and much more. Tunnel Liner Plate is available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, from 1.3m to 8m diameter. Materials include galvanized steel, Strata-CAT coated steel and aluminum. Structures are made to order and shipped to the project location. Plates can be completely assembled from inside the tunnel and grouted at regular intervals. Complex tunnel lining equipment is not required, making installation fast and simple with minimal disruption to road users and the surrounding environment.

Mini-Span structures provide an economical and rapid solution for a variety of stream crossings. Featuring a bottomless design to preserve the aquatic habitat, Mini-Span products are both functional and ‘fish friendly’. Bin-Wall is a system of adjoining, closed-face galvanized steel bins filled with compacted granular material. Lightweight and easy to handle, they bolt together on-site to create a sturdy gravity-type retaining wall. Ideal for difficult or restrictive locations, Bin-Wall's flexible design can accommodate minor ground movement whilst resisting overturning and sliding forces. With the growing trend towards regulated municipal stormwater management, Armtec’s Stormwater Management product line of detention and treatment systems is designed to meet your project requirements. Detention systems capture and store stormwater in underground tanks, where it is detained and then recharged to the ground or discharged to a collector system. Underground pipe storage systems are custom-made to suit any site plan and can be constructed with CSP, Ultra Flo pipe, BOSS HDPE pipe or treatment chambers. Water quality treatment systems remove trash, oil, heavy metals and other contaminants from surface drainage. Treatment systems are installed in conjunction with a stormwater collection system and are designed to meet the site-specific flow, removal efficiency and target particle size requirements with a service life of 50 to 100 years.

HAURATON RECYFIX is an exciting new product line of linear surface drainage solutions offered by Armtec. Compared to traditional point drainage systems, linear drainage is an efficient, cost effective system of surface water removal with improved water interception, fewer components and shallow depth excavation. Made primarily of polypropylene, RECYFIX is lightweight, durable and corrosion resistant with a variety of grate options to choose from. Modular catch basins are also available to maximize the system’s discharge and to retain debris. Wherever you need to drain surface water quickly and effectively, there is a RECYFIX product to meet your needs.

Armtec Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Walls and Reinforced Soil Slopes provide a cost-effective earth retention solution for both permanent and temporary applications. Mechanically stabilized earth technology allows the construction of steeper slopes and permits more efficient land usage, reducing overall development costs. Armtec systems utilize geosynthetics such as uniaxial geogrids or high strength woven geotextiles to reinforce the soil and create a stable gravity mass to resist potential lateral loading. A variety of facing options are available such as welded wire mesh, geocell, decorative concrete blocks, and Bin-Wall.
Armtec carries a full line of woven and non-woven geosynthetics manufactured from polyester or polypropylene. These high-strength geosynthetics are an ideal choice for over-steepened slopes, embankments and other soil retention projects. Their low upfront cost and dependable performance makes them a cost-effective solution in soil engineering.
