Drawing a new customer deal at Cartoon Saloon!AIB finance Oscar nominated animation studio in the production

of Wolfwalkers feature film

AIB are delighted to support Oscar nominated Cartoon Saloon in the financing forthe production of animated feature film ‘Wolfwalkers’ which is due to startproduction later this year.

Alan Ryan, Head of Business Banking - Kilkenny Waterford said: “The deal wasstructured in two tranches by Niall Mackey and supported by Kieran Joyce andMark Harris from the Sector team. The first tranche was to facilitate the Section481 tax credit and the second to part cover the production costs. This deal pavesthe way to really strengthen the relationship with Cartoon Saloon and work onnew high profile projects.”

Wolfwalkers, which will star Sean Bean, is scheduled for release in 2020. The plotsummary of Wolfwalkers, as described by IMDb, is: “In a time of superstition andmagic, when wolves are seen as demonic and nature an evil to be tamed, ayoung apprentice hunter, Robyn, comes to Ireland with her father to wipe out thelast pack. But when Robyn saves a wild native girl, Mebh, their friendship leadsher to discover the world of the Wolfwalkers and transform her into the very thingher father is tasked to destroy.”

Kilkenny city. The animation studio has received Oscar nominationsfor three animated films, 'Secret of Kells', 'The Breadwinner' and 'Song

of the Sea', a 2014 production based on Irish folklore.
