Aim: How can your process create meaning in your project?

Do Now: Looking at your project, write a reflection about your work. What do you feel when you look at it? What impacts your decision about the next layer in your project? What do you want to hide or reveal in your project? Why are you choosing the colors you’re using? How does the placement of the collaged imagery and the addition of new drawings directly on the project, impact the meaning of your work?

Aim: What design principles are necessary to allow us to appreciate the imagery and meaning behind your artwork?

Do Now: choose your final images that you would like to keep at the surface of your project.

Wed 2-10

Aim: How can you make final artistic decisions to complete your compositions?

Do Now: Recall Basqiat’s mark making. How can you use little marks to lead our eye and make connections around your painting?

HW: February Sketchbook challenges. All sketchbook work will be checked on Feb. 26

Try using black to block in a shape, or white. Outline near or around a shape. Add in written text/repeat for a DESIGN purpose. Cross it out.Give some “Insides” to an outlined drawing.

Aim: How can you grade and assess your mixed media painting?

Do Now: Make a final statement regarding your artwork. Write a poem about it. See Basquiat “ The Notebooks”
