  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

THIS system is the result of twenty years experience as CustomCutter, in one of the largest and most celebrated Philadelphia

establishments, and has been indorsed by prominent cutters as the

best system yet offered. It has hitherto been the fact, that systems

of no merit whatever, have cost from five to ten dollars, while those

of any worth, have been held at from fifteen to fifty dollars, thus placing

them beyond the reach of those most in need of their aid. This system

not only claims to be better andfar more simple than an}' before offered,

but is put at a price which brings it within the reach of all. This hasnot been done from any philanthropic motive, but as a sound business

principle, in the belief that a really meritorious system brought within

reach of persons of limited means, will insure a much larger profit

than the same system held at a price at which but a few could pur-

    chase it.

  • SHORT SHOULDER.A short shoulder must always be made after the pattern is completed. The

measure for the armscye must be taken tightly at the end of the natural shoulder, and the armscye made at the width of the back. After the pattern is made, theshoulder can be made as short as desired by laying the back and two side bodiestogether, as shown on combination diagram by the dotted line marked X at the top. Then lay the front and back together, as shown by the small Figures I and 4 onsame diagram, and shape the rest of armscye as shown by dotted line marked Xon Figure 4. Then measure the armscye for short shoulder to find what size sleevemust be used for it, as the last armscye will be larger than the first.

When basting the parts together join all seams at the waist line
