It is an expectation of Mount Gambier HighSchool Governing Council, Principal and staffthat all students abide by the dress code policy.

A parent/caregiver application to enrol at MountGambier High School is taken as acceptance ofthis policy.

The students, parents and staff of this schoolbelieve that the dress code requirement isimportant in developing a sense of identity andpride for our students. It fits in with the generalexpectation in today's workforce where, in mostinstances, there is an established dress code atthe workplace. For students, this school is theirwork site.

We believe that the wearing of correct schooldress code allows each student to identify withthe school, builds group spirit and that itprevents discrimination, unhealthy competitionand arguments at home. School dress codeworn regularly is cheaper than other clothing.

For safety reasons, students may be asked toremove some jewellery when working withequipment or when playing sport.

It is the expectation of this school that whenparticipating in the school Athletics/SwimmingCarnivals, students will wear t-shirts or polo topsin team colours.
