computers and smartboards).
From the Leadership Team
Hasn’t Term 1 flown by? We trust that your children will take some much needed rest time over the week break and that families
will be able to enjoy having some time away from the regular routine of school.
Dont forget that ‘Student-Led Conferences’ are on Wednesday and Thursday this week for Transition - Year 6 students. Please
make sure you book in a time with your child's class teacher if you haven't already.
These meetings are designed to provide an opportunity for students to share and reflect on their learning so far and discuss their
learning goals with their family and teacher (slightly different to how traditional interviews have been conducted in the past), so
please bring your children along to meet with their class teacher.
It is also a chance to look at the progress report sent out last week, discuss any concerns and work together on a plan for the rest of
the year; this may include the teacher giving family members tips on how they might help their child at home. If there are concerns
with a child’s progress, then this is an opportunity for teachers and families to work together as early as possible. If there is anything
confidential that you wish to discuss without your child present, you can either book a double session, ask your child to leave part
way through your session or make another meeting time with the teacher.
Term 2 Staffing Update
It is almost time for Mrs Atkinson to leave us to have her baby. We are pleased to announce that Mrs Atkinson will be replaced by 2
experienced part time teachers next term.
Mrs Emma Dewsbury will be working with Room 1 on Thursdays in Term 2. Mrs Deirdre Wood will be taking over the Geography
and Digital Technology classes that Mrs Atkinson currently teaches across all Transition – Year 2 classes, from half way through
the term when Mrs A finishes up.
We would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that Darlene Devery, our Student Support Officer, has resigned from her
position. Darlene worked tirelessly for our school community in order to provide programs such as FAST and Kids Connect. The
school would like to publicly recognise the work that Darlene did with programs like these and thank her for the support she
provided to many of our Driver families. We wish her well in all her future endeavours. Please do not hesitate to contact any
member of the school leadership team or your child’s classroom teacher if you require assistance that has in the past been provided
by Darlene.
Families and Schools Together (FAST) Cancelled for Term Two
Thank you to those families who expressed interest in the Families and Schools Together (FAST) program that has previously been
facilitated by Driver Primary, in partnership with The Smith Family. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, Driver is unable
to offer the program as planned during Term Two.

Poppers
If you have any poppers or other 10c containers (not glass) at home please send them to school with your child. They are a great
way for us to raise money and your students can earn extra points when they come to farm.
Pallet Benches For Sale
Last year, the Year 5/6 classes made fantastic wooden pallet benches, which we are now selling for $50 each at the front office. A
great gift idea, these benches would look wonderful on your verandah, in the garden or for use as a display bench. HURRY while
stocks last!
Nachos ~ $4
Baked potato with bolognaise sauce & melted cheese ~ $4
Now available ~ Gluten free pie ~ $5
We recently welcomed Start Smart to deliver their free, financial education workshops to our Year 1-6 students. Delivered in class
to students by a facilitator, Start Smart changes the way young people learn about money. By making money management
interactive, engaging and fun, our students were equipped with the confidence and competence they need to make smart decisions
about money.
Our school has proudly joined the Commonwealth Bank's Start Smart Program in its mission to improve the financial literacy of
Australia’s young people. Overall, the program proved to be a highly beneficial experience for students and was thoroughly enjoyed
by all. For more information on the program and each of the workshops we encourage you to visit www.startsmart.com.au
