How MUCH would you like to dry today?
First you must determine how much product you need to dry. The next step is to place your product (ie. Cherries, mangoes, jerky) in a one square foot area and weigh it. You have just measured your “wet pounds per square foot”. Now you can insert your wet weight into a simple formula to determine the correct size dehydrator.
“It’s about pounds per square foot”
WET WEIGHT per SQUARE FOOT X TOTAL DRYER SQUARE FOOTAGE = DRYER CAPACITY
