Digital Scrapbook Academy May 2018: Lesson 05 Templates & Type for Elements Users
Welcome to Lesson 05 for Elements Users
Welcome to the fourth page-building lesson of Digital Scrapbook Academy! We’ll
continue to use Adobe Elements® 2018 to build increasingly complex, digital
scrapbook layouts.
Our fourth page build follows a common scenario: You want to build a page using a
template, but the template needs a few modifications. You modify the template to fit
your needs and build your page. Now, you want to save your completed page as a
new template for future use. We’ll discuss the steps you need to take to work from
template to page and back to template again plus add more complex digital
scrapbooking techniques to our skill-set.
We’ll accomplish the following objectives:
• Review and repeat basic tasks learned from previous lessons
• Transform a simple page template into a playful page design
• Develop stroked frames using Styles
• Create a standout title using a font + alpha combo
• Add additional shapes to a page using the Polygon Shape Tool
• Build a swatch group from a kit
• Create a template from a completed layout
• How to replace real layers with “representative sample layers”
Let’s get started!
