DSDM is growing rapidly ...again!• Launched in 1995• Grew quickly, very popular• Stagnated around year 2002 due to closed model• Method updated in 2007 (DSDM Atern)• Fundamentals are still valid today• Was DSDM ahead of its time?• APMG has adopted DSDM for Agile Project Management• Fastest selling product for APMG.

DSDM in the real world – how easy is it?• It is easy ...when you know how!• Some ideas are simple and are great e.g. MoSCoW• Some ideas are complex e.g. IRC timeboxing• Some ideas are counter intuitive e.g. Coulds before Musts!• Some ideas cannot survive ‘the culture’ e.g. Collaboration• Some ideas cannot survive ‘implementation’ e.g.

• Iterative Development (Prototyping)• Take care with early solutioneering• Communication as well as validation

• Timeboxing• It’s like riding a bike• You do not have to use IRC timeboxing but you need to know what

it is.
