The nation’s need for well-trained physicians and biomedical researchers is greater than ever. MCW-Milwaukee invites you to explore your interests in biomedical sciences through a summer training experience as a research intern.

THE SUMMER RESEARCH EXPERIENCEDSHREP is a competitive program designed to provide research opportunities for undergraduate students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in biomedical science, including individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, underrepresented cultural and ethnic groups, and individuals with disabilities. Our target ethnic groups are: African Americans, Mexican-Americans, Native Americans (American Indians and Alaska Natives), Hmong and mainland Puerto Ricans.

Qualified diverse students who are accepted into the program are “matched” with an established faculty investigator(s) to participate in a research project(s) addressing the causes, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular, pulmonary and hematological diseases.
