English 1. Before you start


1.1 Environmental conditions

The TASCAM CD-X1700 may be used in mostareas, but to maintain top performance, andprolong operating life, observe the followingenvironmental conditions:The nominal temperature should be between 5°Cand 35°C (41°F and 95°F).Relative humidity should be 30 to 90 degrees non-condensing.Make sure that the drive unit is mounted in a levelposition for correct operation.The units should be mounted, using the suppliedrack mounting kits. A typical configuration isshown below, but other configurations arepossible:

… If the disc trays are more than 5 degreesaway from the horizontal, they will notopen or close.

… Do not install this apparatus in a con-fined space such as a book case or simi-lar unit.

1.2 Beware of condensation

If the player (or a compact disc) is moved from acold to a warm place, or used after a suddentemperature change, there is a danger ofcondensation; vapor in the air could condense onthe internal mechanism, making correct operationimpossible. To prevent this, or if this occurs, leavethe player for one or two hours with the powerturned on, then turn the power off and on again.

NOTE

1.3 Handling of discs

The unit has been designed specifically forreproduction of discs bearing the mark. Noother discs can be reproduced.

Observe the following:• Always place the compact discs in the trays with

their label facing upward (compact discs canonly be played on one side).

• To remove a disc from its storage case, pressdown on the center of the case, and lift the discout, holding it carefully by the edges.

• Finger marks and dust should be carefully wipedoff the disc's recorded surface with a soft cloth.Unlike conventional records, the compact dischas no grooves to collect dust and microscopicdebris, so gently wiping with a soft cloth shouldremove most particles.

• Wipe in a straight motion from the inside to theoutside of the disc. Small dust particles and lightstains will have absolutely no effect on reproduc-tion quality.

• Never use such chemicals as record sprays, anti-static sprays or fluid, benzine or thinner to cleancompact discs. Such chemicals will do irrepara-ble damage to the disc's plastic surface.

• Discs should be returned to their cases after useto avoid serious scratches that could cause thelaser pickup to "skip".

• Don't expose discs to direct sunlight or highhumidity and temperature for extended periods.Long exposure to high temperature can warp thedisc.

• Only use circular compact discs. Avoid usingnon-circular promotional, etc. discs.

• To keep the laser pickups clean, don't touchthem. For the same reason, don't leave the disctrays open unnecessarily.

6DIGITAL OUTPUT (COAXIAL, S/PDIF)Coaxial connectors provide digital output signals.These connectors can output the 44.1KHz digitalsignals constantly even if pitch control is activated.

7 FADER START jacks (MINI jack) The CD-X1700 can be controlled using theexternal Fader start command through these jacks.Connect the mixer which supports the fader startfunction with appropriate cable as well as audiosignal (∑ page 20). (TIP: Start, GND: back cue)

8ACCESSORY (MINI DIN 6P)Connect the optional scratch controller TT-M1.

9REMOTE (MINI DIN 8P)Use this connector to connect the remote controlunit.

ELAPSED: Elapsed time will show in thenumerical portion in display, but noadditional indicator will light.

NOTE

REMAIN: REMAIN indicator in the LCD willlight

TOTAL REMAIN: The track number display areashows the number of tracks ofinserted disc, however, for 5 secondsin the end of track, the current tracknumber flashes and for 5 seconds inthe beginning of the track, thecurrent track number lights.

Another function of this key is the modifier key(SHIFT function). English 3. Playback operation


3-1. CUE

The CD-X1700 can memorize the play start pointas a cue point. If the cue point is memorized,pressing the CUE key locates the unit to the cuepoin.

To memorize the CUE pointThere are two ways to store the cue point.Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressingCUE selects the method for the CUE key’soperation.

: Last play start point is stored as the CUEpoint.

: Pressing the CUE key when unit is pausedstores the current point as the cue point.

Stutter play with the CUE keyWhen unit is paused at the cue point, the unit willplay when this key is pressed, and enter pausemode when CUE is released.If the PLAY key is pressed during CUE playback,the unit will go into normal play mode.

3-2. CUE 1-3

The CD-X1700 can have another three cue pointsstored with the CUE 1-3 keys.

To memorize the CUE 1-3 points1. Find the desired point.

2. Press the SET key. The parameter display shows.

3. Press the desired CUE key.

When the CUE key has the stored point, the CUEkey lights. The stored cue point cannot be erasedbut can be overwritten.

… When the unit is paused and the indicator in the LCD lights, pressing theSET key then pressing the CUE 1-3 keystarts the unit automatically.

… When the unit is paused and the indicator in the LCD doesn’t light, press-ing the SET key then pressing the CUE 1-3 key flashes the pressed CUE 1-3 keythree times then lights.

… For three seconds after storing the cuepoint, you cannot store another cuepoint.

Stutter play with the CUE 1-3 keysWhen the unit is paused at the cue 1-3 point, theunit will play when the appropriate CUE 1-3 key ispressed, and enter pause mode when CUE 1-3 isreleased.If the PLAY key is pressed during CUE playback,the unit will go into normal play mode.

3-3. Flash Start

The CD-X1700 has a flash start function that canbe used with the CUE 1-3 keys.When the flash start function is activated (when the

indicator in the LCD lights), pressing theCUE 1-3 key enables flash start.

… When the indicator in the LCDdoesn’t light, the unit is back in cuemode. In this mode, pressing the CUE 1-3 key locates the stored cue point thenthe unit pauses.

3-4. A-B Looping

To store the LOOP points

… Loop points can be stored when looppoints are not stored on the unit (A andB key don’t light). If loop points arealready stored, erase these points first,then store the loop points again.

… Both loop start (A) and end (B) pointscan set to within a track.

… A-B looping can be performed when theloop mode is set to “A-B” (preset 01).When loop mode is set to “A-B”, the "S"and “ALL” indicators in the LCD don’tlight.

1. Press the A key when playing or pausing. The Akey will light and the B key will start flashing.

2. Press the B key when playing or pausing.LOOP, A, and B keys will light. If the loop Bpoint is set when the unit is playing, the CDX-1700 starts loop playback seamlessly. If theloop B point is set when the unit is paused, theCDX-1700 goes to the loop start point thenpauses. At this time the indicator in theLCD lights.

Disengage loop playWhen loop play is engaged, pressing the LOOPkey disengages loop play. In this case, the unitcontinues playback and LOOP light goes off, butthe loop points are not erased.When loop play is engaged, locating to the outpoint of a loop section disengages loop play (i.e.pressing the CUE key, etc…). The LOOP key goesoff, but the loop points are not erased.

NOTE

Re-loopingWhen loop play is disengaged and loop points arealready stored, pressing the LOOP key starts re-loop playback and the LOOP key lights.

Erasing the LOOP pointsPressing the A and B key at the same time erasesthe loop points. At this time, the A and B keys gooff.If the tray is opened, your loop points are erased.

Changing the LOOP end point (B point)Pressing the B key when the loop is playingchanges the loop end point.

Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressingthe B key edits the B point using the Jog wheel.Pressing the B key overwrites the new B point andexits the edit mode.

… The Loop B point can be moved beforethe current B point only.

3-5. Adjusting the tempo

Tempo rangeThe CD-X1700 features +/-8, 16, 32, 100, and 0%of tempo control range. Pressing the TEMPO keychanges the tempo control range. The Parameterdisplay shows the selected tempo/key rangemomentary. If 0% is selected, the parameterdisplay shows .

Using the TEMPO sliderThe TEMPO slider controls playback tempo.Tempo changes are displayed in the LCD.

Auto BPM and TAP keyThe CD-X1700 features automatic BPM countfunction and TAP mode BPM count function.When parameter display mode is set to BPM, theBPM is counted automatically and displayed in theparameter display. The TAP LED blinks in tempo.

Pressing the TAP key repeatedly counts the songtempo in BPM manually. Tapped BPM is shown inthe LCD parameter display and the TAP LEDblinks in tempo. This BPM affects the TEMPOslider moving. If the TEMPO slider is moved, theBPM will be changed automatically.

When playing back a disc, pressing the BEND + or– key, or using the Jog wheel can change playbacktempo momentary. Pressingthe - key or moving the Jog wheelcounterclockwise decreases the playback speedand returns to original speed when release this keyor stop the Jog wheel moving.

4-1. Key control

The CD-X1700 features up to +/-16% key control.Key control range is determined with tempo rangesetting. When tempo and key control range is set to 8%,key value can be set in 0.1% steps. When tempoand key control range is set to 16%, key value canbe set in 0.2% steps. When tempo control range isset to 0%, 32%, or 100%, the key control functiondoes not work.Pressing and holding the KEY key then moving theJog wheel sets the key control value.Note that the key value shows a total of the valuetogether with any changes made by using theslider.

4-2. Scratching

When the SCRATCH key is activated, scratchingcan be performed with the Jog wheel.

Brake function simulates the braking audio justlike turning off the analog turntable. Pressing theBRAKE key turns the brake function on and off.When brake function is activated, BRAKE keylights.

Set the brake timePressing and holding the BRAKE key then usingthe Jog wheel adjusts the brake time. Brake timecan be set to 0.1 to 5 seconds in 0.1 sec. steps.Pressing the PLAY/PAUSE key while unit isplaying performs the braking.Pressing the PLAY/PAUSE key during the brakingstarts the music again with current tempo.

4-4. Effects

The CD-X1700 includes three effects, Flanger,Echo, and Filter. One effect can be activated at thesame time.Pressing one of the effect keys can activate theeffect.Pressing the FX SYNC key synchronize the effecttime with the BPM.Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressingone of effect key can adjust the effect level with theJog wheel.

4-6. Sampler

The CD-X1700 includes eight seconds sampler oneach player.

Sampling

… Make sure the IN/ß and OUT keys arenot lit. If the sampler has sampled audiodata, erase the audio data first, thenrecord the audio again.

1. Press the IN/ß key when playing or pausing.IN/ß key will light and SAMPLE and OUT keywill start flashing.

2. Press the OUT key when playing or pausing.SAMPLE key will go off and both IN/ß, andOUT keys will light.

… If eight seconds elapse, or if the end ofthe track is reached without pressing theOUT key, the end point of the samplewill automatically be set at that point.

Using the A-B loop as a sample sourceWhen you have set up an A-B loop, you can pressand hold the OUT key and press the B key to set Apoint of the loop as the start point of the sampler,and B point of the loop as the end point of thesample (you cannot operate this when loopplayback is activated).If the A-B loop is over 8 seconds length , the first8 seconds will be take as the sample.

Play the samplerWhen IN/ß, and OUT keys light, pressing theIN/ß key starts the sampler from the beginning.

Stop the samplerWhen sampler is playing, pressing the OUT key

Sampler pitch controlPressing and holding the SAMPLE key then usingthe Jog wheel changes the playback pitch of thesampler.The pitch control range is +/-32% in 0.1% steps.

Sampler output levelPressing and holding the IN key then using the Jogwheel adjusts the sampler output level. Thesampler output level can be set from 0 (mute) to100 ( default level).

Recall the sampling dataIf the sampling points are memorized in the currenttrack memory, pressing the OUT key more than 1.5seconds starts sampling automatically.

4-7. Track Memory / Recall

The CD-X1700 can memorize the variousplayback settings of current selected track up to100 tracks of memory in each 5 banks (A to E). You could use each bank for a different player oruse the other bank for a different setting for a track,for example.

Track Memory1. Select the memory bank (A to E) by pressing and

holding the SHIFT key then pressing theTEMPO/BANK key.

2. Enter the track memory mode by pressing andholding the SHIFT key then pressing theSET/MEMO key.

3. LCD shows the lowest empty memory number.

4. Using the Jog wheel to change the memorynumber if necessary.

5. Press the ENTER key. At this time, if there isstored memory in the selected memory number,

indication is displayed in the LCD.Pressing the ENTER key overwrites the currenttrack data. Pressing any other key cancels thememory operation.

2. Enter the recall mode by pressing and holdingthe SHIFT key then pressing theFLASH/RECALL key. If there is a trackmemory data for the current selected track, itsmemory number is shown in the LCD.

3. When track memory number is shown in theLCD, pressing the ENTER key recalls the trackmemory data.

The CD-X1700 can recall the track (song) from thetrack memory data.

1. Select the memory bank by pressing and holdingthe SHIFT key then pressing theTEMPO/BANK key.

2. Enter the recall mode by pressing and holdingthe SHIFT key then pressing theFLASH/RECALL key. Using the Jog wheel toselect the desired track memory number.

3. When track memory number is shown in theLCD, pressing the ENTER key recalls the trackfrom the track memory number.

… Cue and loop points can be memorizedand/or recalled. However, just after therecall operation, seamless start from thecue or loop points can’t be performedbecause there are no data in the RAMbuffer just after the recall operation.Once playing from cue points (CUE 1-3)and/or loop start point for a few second,flash start and/or seamless looping canbe performed.

4-8. Fader Start

Connect the FADER START jack on the rear panelof the main unit and fader start jack on the externaldevice which supports the fader start function (i.e.X-9, X-17, X-15, XS-3, etc…) with Fader StartCable which is supplied to perform the faderstart/back cue performance with the externaldevice. Audio signal should be connected to theexternal device as well.TIP: Start (low active, more than 50ms)GND: Back cue (low active, more than 50ms)

4-9. Relay Play

Turning on the Relay play function either left orright unit turns on the relay play function. Whenthe relay play is activated, when left unit finishesplayback, right unit will start playback and viceversa automatically.Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressingthe BRAKE key turns the relay play function onand off. When the relay play is turned on, the“RELAY” indicator in the LCD lights.

4-10. Auto Cue

Auto cue function allows the unit to search thebeginning of the song and pause thereautomatically. The detection level is fixed to–54dB. When Auto cue function is turned on, the“A.CUE” indicator in the LCD lights. Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressingthe BEND – key turns the AUTO CUE function onand off.

4-11. Auto Ready

Auto Ready function allows the unit to pause thebeginning of the next track when playback of thecurrent track is finished.The behavior of Auto Ready function is follows.

Continuous play mode:Pause the beginning of the next track whenplayback of the current track is finished.

Single play mode:Pause the beginning of the current track whenplayback of the current track is finished.

Program play mode:Pause the beginning of the next programmedtrack when playback of the current track isfinished.

When Auto Ready function is turned on, the“A.RDY” indicator in the LCD lights.Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressingthe BEND + key turns the AUTO READYfunction on and off.



4-12. Programmed Play

The CD-X1700 features up to 30 tracks of programplay function. Program itself is maintained even ifpower is turned off, and if CD is not ejected,program list will be backed up.

… Once one of the CUE 1-3 key is pressed,programmed play will be cancelled.

Err 01 TOC Read error - the disc's Table of Contents cannot be read within 20 seconds - try with anotherdisc or remove and clean the existing disc before replacing it

Err 02 GFS error – GFS signal cannot be detected within five seconds - try with another disc or removeand clean the existing disc before replacing it

Err 03 Focus error - after repeating the attempt eight times to focus, an error still occurs - try with anotherdisc or remove and clean the existing disc before replacing it

Err 04 Sub-Q error - the sub-Q code cannot be detected (twice within five seconds) - try with anotherdisc

Err 05 Loading error - the open or close operation cannot be completed, even after retries, or there is aninternal error - make sure that there are no obstructions preventing the tray's operation

Err 06 Sled error - an internal drive error - try turning the power off, waiting a few seconds, and turningit on again

Err 07 Error in communication between decks - try turning the unit off, waiting a few seconds, andturning it on again

1.1 Condiciones ambientales

Si traslada el reproductor (o un disco) de un lugarfrío a un cálido, o lo usa tras un cambio fuerte detemperatura, existe el peligro de la condensación;el vapor del aire podría condensarse en elmecanismo interno, impidiendo un funciona-miento correcto. Para evitarlo, o si ocurre, deje elreproductor encendido una o dos horas, y despuesapáguelo y vuevalo a encender.

1.3 Manejo de los discos

La unidad ha sido diseñada especificamente para lareproducción de discos que lleven la marca .No es posible reproducir otros discos.

Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:• Coloque siempre los discos en las bandejas con

su etiqueta hacia arriba (los discos compactossólo se pueden reproducir por una cara).

• Para sacar un disco de su caja, presione en elcentro de la caja y tire del disco, sujetándolo concuidado por los bordes.

• Con un paño suave elimine con cuidadocualquier marca de dedos y el polvo de lasuperficie grabada del disco. Al contrario que loque ocurre en los discos convencionales, los CDno tienen surcos que recojan polvo y restosmicroscópicos, por lo que la limpieza con unpano suave deberia eliminar la mayoria departículas.

• Limpie el disco con movimientos rectos dedentro hacia fuera. Las partículas de polvo ymanchas no tendrán ningún efecto en la calidadde reproduccion.

• Nunca use productos químicos como spraysantiestáticos u otros líquidos como aguarrás paralimpiar los discos. Esos productos producirándaños irreparables en la superficie del disco.

• Debería guardar los discos en sus cajas despuésde usarlos para evitar rayas que podrían hacerque el cabezal láser "saltase".

• No exponga los discos a la luz solar directa o aaltos niveles de humedad o temperatura duranteperiodos largos. La exposición continuada a altastemperaturas puede hacer que el disco se combe.

• Use sólo discos circulares. Evite el uso de discospromocionales, etc. que no sean circulares.

• Para mantener limpios los cabezales del laser, nolos toque. Por esa misma razon, no deje lasbandejas abiertas cuando no sea necesario.

Español 3. Reproducción


3-1. CUE

El CD-X1700 puede memorizar el punto de iniciode la reproducción como un punto de escucha ocue. Si este punto cue está memorizado, la unidadse colocará en dicho punto cuando pulse la teclaCUE.

Para memorizar el punto CUEHay dos formas para almacenar este punto deescucha.Mantener pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsar la teclaCUE le permite elegir el funcionamiento de la teclaCUE.

: Como punto CUE es almacenado el últimopunto de inicio.

: Si pulsa la tecla CUE con la unidad enpausa, el punto activo se almacena comopunto cue.

Reproducción “tartamuda” con la teclaCUECuando la unidad esté en pausa en el punto deescucha, cuando pulse esta tecla la unidadcomenzará la reproducción y volverá a quedar enpausa en cuanto suelte la tecla.Si pulsa la tecla PLAY durante este tipo dereproducción, la unidad volverá al modo dereproducción normal.

3-2. CUE 1-3

El CD-X1700 puede almacenar otros tres puntosde escucha en las teclas CUE 1-3.

Para memorizar los puntos CUE 1-31. Colóquese en el punto que quiera almacenar.

2. Pulse la tecla SET. En la pantalla de parámetroverá .

3. Pulse la tecla CUE que quiera.

Cuando una tecla CUE contiene un punto ya

almacenado, dicha tecla se ilumina. El punto deescucha almacenado no puede ser borrado, pero sípuede grabar otros datos encima de los anteriores.

… Cuando la unidad esté en pausa y en laLCD se ilumine el indicador alpulsar la tecla SET y después la tecla CUE1-3 hará que la unidad comience lareproducción de forma automática.

… Cuando la unidad esté en pausa y en laLCD no esté iluminado el indicador

al pulsar la tecla SET y después latecla CUE 1-3, esa tecla parpadeará tresveces y después quedará iluminada fija.

… Hasta pasados tres segundos después dealmacenar el punto de escucha o cue nopodrá almacenar otro punto cue.

Reproducción tartamuda con las teclasCUE 1-3Cuando la unidad esté en pausa en el punto deescucha 1-3, cuando pulse la tecla CUE 1-3adecuada la unidad comenzará la reproducción yvolverá a quedar en pausa en cuanto suelte dichatecla.Si pulsa la tecla PLAY durante este tipo dereproducción, la unidad volverá al modo dereproducción normal.

3-3. Inicio flash

El CD-X1700 dispone de la función de inicioinmediato o flash con las teclas CUE 1-3.Cuando esta función de inicio flash esté activada(cuando en la LCD esté iluminado el indicador

), podrá realizar este inicio flash con lasteclas CUE 1-3.

… Cuando en la LCD no esté iluminado elindicador , eso querrá decir que launidad está en el modo de escuchainversa. En este modo, el pulsar la teclaCUE 1-3 hace que la unidad se coloqueen el punto de escucha almacenado yque después quede en pausa.

3-4. Bucle A-B

Para almacenar los puntos de bucle oLOOP

… Puede almacenar puntos de bucle cuan-do en la unidad no haya ningunoguardado (cuando la tecla A y B no estéiluminadas). Si ya hay puntos de buclealmacenados, borre primero esos puntosy después almacene los nuevos.

… Puede ajustar dentro de una pista tantoel punto de inicio (A) como el de final (B)del bucle.

… La reproducción en bucle A-B puede serejecutado cuando el modo de bucle estáajustado a “A-B” (preset 01). Cuando elmodo de bucle esté ajustado a “A-B”, losindicadores “S” y “ALL” no se ilumi-narán en la LCD.

1. Pulse la tecla A con la unidad en reproducción opausa. La tecla A se iluminará y la tecla Bcomenzará a parpadear.

2. Pulse la tecla B con la unidad en reproducción opausa. Las teclas LOOP, A y B se iluminarán. Siajusta el punto B del bucle con la unidad enmarcha, la reproducción del bucle comenzará deforma invisible. Si ajusta el punto B del buclecon la unidad en pausa, el aparato irá hasta elpunto de inicio del bucle y quedará en pausa allí.En ese momento se iluminará el indicador en la LCD.

Desactivación del bucleCuando tenga el modo de bucle activado, lapulsación de la tecla LOOP hará que este tipo dereproducción se desactive. En este caso, la unidadcontinuará con la reproducción normal y la teclaLOOP se apagará, aunque los puntos de bucle noserán borrados.Con la reproducción en bucle activada, cuando secoloque en la salida de la sección de bucle, el modode reproducción en bucle se desactivará (al pulsarla tecla CUE, etc…). La tecla LOOP se apagará,

aunque los puntos de bucle no serán borrados.

Re-bucleCuando el modo de bucle está desactivado pero lospuntos del bucle no han sido borrado, puede pulsarla tecla LOOP para volver a reactivar lareproducción en bucle y hacer que la tecla LOOPse encienda.

Borrado de los puntos LOOPSi pulsa a la vez las teclas A y B los puntos debucle se borran. Cuando haga eso, las teclas A y Bse apagarán.De la misma forma, si abre una de las bandejas, lospuntos de bucle también se borrarán.

Cambio del punto de final de bucle(punto B)Si pulsa la tecla B cuando el bucle está siendoreproducido el punto de final del bucle esmodificado.

Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulse la tecla Bpara editar el punto final con la rueda Jog.El pulsar la tecla B anula el nuevo punto B y haceque salga del modo de edición.

… Solo puede desplazar el punto B a unaposición anterior a la que había ajustadoantes.

3-5. Ajuste del tempo

Rango del tempoEl CD-X1700 le ofrece un rango de control detempo de +/-8, 16, 32, 100 y 0%. El pulsar la teclaTEMPO le permite cambiar el rango de control. La pantalla de parámetro le muestra momentánea-mente el rango de tempo/clave elegido. Si elige0%, la pantalla de parámetro le muestra .

Uso del mando deslizante TEMPOEste mando le permite controlar el tempo de lareproducción.Los cambios de tempo son visualizados en la LCD.

Auto BPM y tecla TAPEl CD-X1700 dispone de una función de conteoautomático de BPM y del modo TAP.Cuando el modo de pantalla de parámetro estéajustado a BPM, el valor BPM será contadoautomáticamente y mostrado en la pantalla deparámetro. El piloto TAP parpadeará de formasincronizada con el tempo i.Pulse repetidas veces la tecla TAP para marcarmanualmente en BPM el tempo de la canción. Elvalor de BPM marcado es mostrado en la pantallade parámetro de la LCD y el piloto TAP parpadeade forma sincronizada con el BPM. Este BPMafecta al desplazamiento del mando deslizanteTEMPO. Si mueve este mando TEMPO, el valorBPM será modificado de forma automática.

Si mantiene pulsada la tecla TAP durante más de1.5 segundos, borrará el valor BPM marcado.Si mantiene pulsada la tecla TAP y gira la ruedaJog (dentro de los 1.5 segundos) podrá ajustarmanualmente el BPM.

… El valor BPM también se usa para eltiempo de efecto o el parámetro deritmo o beat (P15). Cuando ajuste el BPMusando la tecla TAP, el valor BPM marca-do será usado para el parámetro detiempo de efecto o de ritmo. Cuando nohaya marcado ningún BPM (o haya bor-rado el valor), se usará el BPM contadode forma automática para el parámetrodel efecto

3-6. Inflexión tonal

Durante la reproducción de un disco, la pulsaciónde la tecla BEND + ó – o el uso de la rueda Jog lepermiten cambiar de forma momentánea el tempode reproducción. El pulsar la tecla + o mover larueda hacia la derecha hará que la velocidad dereproducción aumente y que vuelva a la original encuanto deje de pulsar la tecla o deje de girar el dial.El pulsar la tecla – o girar la rueda Jog a laizquierda producirá el efecto contrario.

… Cuando no estén iluminadas las teclasSEARCH, SCRATCH o de un efecto, podráusar la rueda Jog para esta función deinflexión tonal.El rango máximo de inflexión tonal es el16%.

… Cuando esté activada la función de claveoriginal, el tono o clave de la reproduc-ción no cambiará.

3-7. Clave original

Quando el rango de tempo esté ajustado a +/-8%,16% o 32%, al pulsar la tecla KEY ORIG activaráo desactivará la función de clave original. Cuandoesta función esté activada, el control de tempo noafectará a la clave o tono de la reproducción. Asímismo, cuando esta función esté activada, elindicado se iluminará en la LCD.Cuando esta función esté activada, en la pantallade parámetro verá para el modo KEY.

4. Otras funciones avanzadas Español


4-1. Control de clave

El CD-X1700 le ofrece un control de clave o tonode hasta un +/-16%. Este rango quedadeterminado por el ajuste del rango del tempo. Cuando ajuste el rango del tempo y del control declave al 8%, podrá ajustar el valor de clave enpasos de 0.1%. Cuando el rango esté ajustado al16%, el valor de la clave podrá ser retocado enpasos de 0.2%. Cuando el rango del control declave y de tempo estén ajustados al 0, 32 ó 100 %no podrá modificar el valor de la clave.Para ajustar el valor de control de clave, mantengapulsada la tecla KEY y gire la rueda Jog.Tenga en cuenta que el valor de la tecla muestra untotal del valor junto con cualquier cambio que hayahecho usando el mando deslizante.

… Cuando la función de clave original estéactivada, la función de control de claveno actuará.

4-2. Scratching

Cuando la tecla SCRATCH esté activa, podrárealizar un efecto scratching con la rueda Jog.

… Durante un periodo de 3 segundosdespués del inicio flash o la búsquedacon la tecla CUE 1-3, o con la tecla CUE,no podrá realizar un scratch hacia atrás.

… Puede realizar un scratch hacia atrásdurante un máximo periodo de 7segundos.

… Cuando la función de búsqueda SEARCHesté activada, la rueda Jog actuará comoun dial de búsqueda.

4-3. Frenado

La función Brake simula el frenado del audio comoel que se produce cuando apaga un giradiscossobre la marcha. El pulsar la tecla BRAKE activao desactiva esta función. Cuando la función defrenado está activada, la tecla BRAKE se ilumina.

Ajuste del tiempo de frenadoMantenga pulsada la tecla BRAKE y utilice larueda Jog para ajustar el tiempo de frenado. El efecto de filtro tiene dos modos operativos, elmanual y el automático. En el modo manual, puedecontrolar la frecuencia del filtro con la rueda Jog.En el modo auto, la frecuencia del filtro sedesplaza automáticamente seguida por elparámetro de ritmo de efecto y BPM.El mantener pulsada la tecla FILTER durante másde 1.5 segundos le permite cambiar el modo deefecto de filtro.

4-5. Reproducción al revés

El CD-X1700 le ofrece una función dereproducción al revés. El pulsar la tecla REVERSEhace que el sentido de la reproducción cambie.Cuando la reproducción esté invertida, la teclaREVERSE se iluminará.

… Transcurridos más de 3 segundos en elmodo de pausa, no podrá realizar unareproducción al revés.

… En el modo de reproducción al revés, lasopciones de arranque flash, creación debucle y auto cue no funcionarán.

4-6. Sampler

El CD-X1700 incluye ocho segundos de funciónsampler en cada reproductor.

Muestreo

… Asegúrese de que las teclas IN/ß y OUTno estén iluminadas. Si el sampler tienedatos audio registrados, borre primeroesos datos y después vuelva a grabar losque quiera.

1. Pulse la tecla IN/ß con la unidad en pausa oreproducción. La tecla IN/ß se iluminará y lasteclas SAMPLE y OUT comenzarán aparpadear.

Uso del bucle A-B como fuente delmuestreoCuando tenga ajustado un bucle A-B, puedemantener pulsada la tecla OUT y pulsar la tecla Bpara ajustar el punto A del bucle como el puntoinicial del muestreo y el punto B del bucle como elpunto final (cuando la reproducción del bucle estéactivada no podrá usar esta función).Si el bucle A-B es superior a 8 segundos, los 8primeros segundos del bucle serán registradoscomo el muestreo.

Reproducción del samplerCuando las teclas IN/ß y OUT estén iluminadas,la pulsación de la tecla IN/ß hará que comience lareproducción del sampler desde el principio.

Parada del samplerMientras el sampler esté reproduciendo sus datos,pulse la tecla OUT para detenerlo.

Borrado del muestreo grabadoEl pulsar simultáneamente las teclas IN/ß y OUThará que se borre el muestreo grabado. En esemomento, las teclas IN/ß y OUT se apagarán.

Bucle de muestreoMantenga pulsada la tecla SAMPLE y pulse latecla OUT para activar o desactivar lareproducción en bucle del muestreo. Cuando estareproducción en bucle del sampler esté activada, elpiloto LOOP se encenderá.

Inversión del samplerMantenga pulsada la tecla SAMPLE y pulse latecla IN/ß para activar o desactivar lareproducción al revés del muestreo. Cuando estafunción de reproducción inversa esté activada, elpiloto REV se encenderá.

Control de tono del samplerMantenga pulsada la tecla SAMPLE y use la ruedaJog para cambiar el tono de la reproducción delmuestreo.El rango del control de tono es de +/-32% en pasosde 0.1%.

Nivel de salida del samplerMantenga pulsada la tecla IN y use la rueda Jogpara ajustar el nivel de salida del sampler. Puedeajustar este nivel de salida desde 0 (anulación) a100 (nivel por defecto).

Carga de los datos de samplerSi los puntos de muestreo están memorizados en lamemoria de pista de la pista activa, al pulsar latecla OUT durante más de 1,5 segundos, el samplercomenzará a reproducir de forma automática.

4-7. Memoria de pista / carga

El CD-X1700 puede memorizar los distintosajustes de reproducción de la pista elegida en esemomento en hasta 100 memorias de pistadistribuidas en 5 bancos (A a E). Por ejemplo, puede usar cada uno de los bancospara un músico distinto o usar otro banco para unaconfiguración distinta de una pista.

Memoria de pista1. Elija el banco de memoria (A a E) manteniendo

pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando la teclaTEMPO/BANK.

3. En la LCD aparecerá el primer número dememoria que esté vacío en ese momento.

4. Use la rueda Jog para cambiar el número dememoria sobre el que trabajar si es necesario.

5. Pulse la tecla ENTER. En ese momento, si hayalgo almacenado en el número de memoriaelegida, en la LCD aparecerá la indicación

. Pulse entonces la tecla ENTER parasobregrabar los datos. Pulse cualquier otra teclapara cancelar la operación de grabación..

Carga1. Elija el banco de memoria manteniendo pulsada

la tecla SHIFT y pulsando la teclaTEMPO/BANK. Si en el banco de memoriaelegido en ese momento (A a E) hay datos deuna memoria de pista de la pista activa,aparecerá un indicador “M” en la LCD.

2. Active el modo de carga manteniendo pulsada latecla SHIFT y pulsando la teclaFLASH/RECALL. Si hay datos de memoria depista para la pista activa en ese momento, esenúmero de memoria aparecerá en la LCD.

3. Cuando en la LCD aparezca el número dememoria de pista, pulse la tecla ENTER paracargar esos datos.

El CD-X1700 puede cargar la pista real (canción)desde los datos de la memoria de pista.

1. Elija el banco de memoria manteniendo pulsadala tecla SHIFT y pulsando la teclaTEMPO/BANK.

2. Active el modo de carga manteniendo pulsada latecla SHIFT y pulsando la teclaFLASH/RECALL. Utilice después la rueda Jogpara elegir el número de memoria de pista quequiera.

3. Cuando en la LCD aparezca el número de lamemoria de pista que quiera, pulse la teclaENTER para cargar la pista desde ese número dememoria de pista.



… Los puntos de bucle y de escucha (Cue)también pueden ser memorizados y/ocargados. No obstante, después de laoperación de carga no es posible realizarun arranque “invisible” desde los puntosde escucha o bucle dado que tras lacarga no hay datos en el buffer RAM.Una vez que hayan transcurrido unossegundos tras el inicio de la reproduc-ción desde los puntos (CUE 1-3) y/o debucle, el inicio flash y/o el bucle invisibleya podrán ser realizados sin problemas.

4-8. Inicio por fader

Para realizar un inicio por fader desde una unidadexterior, interconecte la clavija FADER STARTque hay en el panel trasero de la unidad principal ala clavija de inicio o disparo por fader de cualquierunidad exterior que admita este tipo de función(p.e. X-9, X-17, X-15, XS-3, etc…) por medio delcable de inicio por fader que viene incluido. Laseñal audio también debería ser conectada aldispositivo exterior.PUNTA: Inicio (activo bajo, más de 50 ms)GND: Escucha al revés (activo bajo, más de

50 ms)

4-9. Reproducción consecutiva

El activar la función de reproducción consecutivatanto en la unidad de la izquierda como en laderecha hace que toda la unidad active estafunción. Si la reproducción consecutiva estéactivada, cuando la unidad de la izquierda terminesu reproducción, la derecha arrancará de formaautomática y viceversa.Para activar o desactivar la función dereproducción consecutiva, mantenga pulsada latecla SHIFT y pulse la tecla BRAKE. Cuando lafunción de reproducción consecutiva esté activada,en la pantalla se encenderá el indicador “RELAY”.

NOTA 4-10. Búsqueda automática

Esta función permite que la función localiceautomáticamente el principio de la canción y sequede allí en pausa de forma automática. El nivelde detección está fijado en –54dB. Cuando estafunción esté activada, en la LCD se iluminará elindicador “A.CUE”. Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulse la teclaBEND – para activar o desactivar la funciónAUTO CUE.

4-11. Espera automática

Esta función hace que la unidad quede en pausa alprincipio de la pista siguiente cuando lareproducción de la pista activa haya terminado.Este modo actúa de la siguiente forma.

Modo de reproducción continua:La unidad queda en pausa al principio de la pistasiguiente cuando la reproducción de la pistaactiva ha terminado.

Modo de reproducción de una pista:La unidad queda en pausa al principio de la pistaactiva cuando su reproducción ha terminado.

Modo de reproducción programada:La unidad queda en pausa al principio de lasiguiente pista programada cuando ha terminadola reproducción de la pista activa.

Cuando esta función está activada, en la LCD seilumina el indicador “A.RDY”.Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulse la teclaBEND + para activar o desactivar la funciónAUTO READY.



4-12. Reproducción programada

El CD-X1700 dispone de hasta 30 pistas para lafunción de reproducción programada. El programaque cree queda memorizado incluso aunqueapague la unidad, y siempre y cuando no expulse elCD, podrá recuperar la misma lista de programas.

… Si el disco es expulsado, el programa seráborrado.

… Si pulsa una de las teclas CUE 1-3, lareproducción programada será cancela-da.

Creación del programa1. Active el modo de edición de programa

manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsandoa la vez la tecla PLAY MODE/PGM.

2. En la pantalla de parámetro aparecerá el númerodel programa. Elija la pista que quiera con lasteclas de salto de pistas.

3. Vaya al siguiente número de programa pulsandola tecla ENTER o usando la rueda Jog.

4. Repita los pasos 2-3 tantas veces como seanecesario.

5. Salga del modo de edición de programamanteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsandola tecla PLAY MODE/PGM.

2. En la pantalla de parámetro aparecerá el númerodel programa. Elija el número de programa quequiera con la rueda Jog.

3. Elija la pista que quiera para ese programa conlas teclas de salto de pista.

4. Repita los pasos 2-3 tantas veces como necesite.




Inserción de programa1. Active el modo de edición de programa


2. En la pantalla de parámetro aparecerá el númerodel programa. Elija el número de programa en elque quiera insertar el nuevo programa con larueda Jog.

3. Pulse la tecla SET/INS..

4. Elija la pista que quiera con las teclas de salto depista.

5. Repita los pasos 2-4 tantas veces como le seanecesario.


Borrado de programa1. Active el modo de edición de programa


2. En la pantalla de parámetro aparecerá el númerodel programa. Elija el número de programa quequiera eliminar con la rueda Jog.

3. Pulse la tecla FLASH/DEL.

4. Repita los pasos 2-3 para eliminar los programasque quiera.




… Dado que el CD-X1700 no acepta la visu-alización de textos, la información detextos que se incluye en la etiqueta ID noserá mostrada. El número de archivoserá visualizado en la zona del númerode pista o TRACK y el número de direc-torio en la pantalla de parámetro.Cuando la pantalla de parámetro lemuestre un número de directorio se ilu-minará el indicador DIR.

4-14. Menú preset

Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y use la ruedaJog para activar el menú preset.

Elija este menú preset y pulse la tecla ENTER, traslo que en la LCD verá el menú de preset y suparámetro.

Ajuste el parámetro con la rueda Jog.

Pulse la tecla ENTER para confirmar el nuevovalor del parámetro.

Pulse cualquier otra tecla para salir de este menú.

NOTA4-13. Reproducción de ficheros MP3

El CD-X1700 puede reproducir un fichero MP3grabado, siempre y cuando siga el siguienteformato.

Mensajes de error

Err 01 Error de lectura TOC – El índice (TOC) del disco no ha podido ser leído en 20 segundos – pruebecon otro disco o expúlselo y límpielo antes de volver a colocarlo

Err 02 Error GFS – La señal GFS no ha podido ser detectada en 5 segundos – pruebe con otro disco oexpulse ese y límpielo antes de volver a colocarlo

Err 03 Error de foco – después de que la unidad haya tratado de enfocar el disco ocho veces, se sigueproduciendo un error - pruebe con otro disco o expulse ese y límpielo antes de volver a colocarlo

Err 04 Error sub-Q – el código sub-Q no ha podido ser detectado (dos veces en 5 segundos) – pruebe conotro disco

Err 05 Error de carga – la operación de apertura o cierre de la bandeja no puede ser realizada tras variosintentos o se ha producido un error interno – asegúrese de que no hay nada que impida elmovimiento de la bandeja
