INTRODUCTION
DUCTED CEILING MOUNTED WATER-COOLED PACKAGE AIR-CONDITIONERS
The Topaire “SlimLine” Water-cooled Packaged air-conditioners ranging in capacity from 20,000 Btu/hr to 260,000 Btu/hr, offers Architects, Design Engineers, Developers and building owners a versatile, flexible and economical type of air-conditioning system for use in office buildings, factories, hospitals supermarkets, shopping malls, etc; instead of the higher cost Central Chilled water Air-conditioning system, utilizing Chillers, Cooling towers, Air-handling units and Fancoils. Compared with air-cooled split or packaged air-conditioners, the water-cooled packaged air-conditioners offer approximately 30% savings in operating cost.

The Ducted Ceiling Mounted “SlimLine” water-cooled packaged air-conditioners saves valuable floor space when compared with floor mounted water-cooled packaged air-conditioners.
The Topaire “SlimLine” TWCP_DS-CH’s with its rigid double-wall casing construc-tion, high efficiency hermetic rotary or scroll compressors, cleanable shell & tubes condensers, hydrophillic coated aluminium fins evaporator coil, direct-drive or belt-driven blower fans, balanced port design thermal expansion valves, factory prepiped and leak tested thick wall copper refrigerant pipings, factory prewired electrical and control panel, etc; are designed and manufactured to ensure effi-cient , reliable, low noise and low vibration performance within the ceiling space.

FEATURES
The casing cabinetry consists of a rigid framework constructed from heavy gauge welded steel channels, held rigidly together by double-wall panels and supports;
A. Casing
The double wall panels, with sandwiched polyurethane insulation between the walls are held tightly to the framework to form a rigid casing which re-duces noise breakout from within the unit;
Selected double-wall panels near the Blower fan are insulated with 1”/3 lbs density fiberglass and internally lined with perforated GI liner to absorb noise generated by the fan;
With double-wall construction, it is easy to clean the inner surfaces to reduce risk of dirt and bacteria contamination;
There is no erosion of internal insulation material which can contaminate the air-stream. The double-wall construction TWCPS_CH is ideal for clean room applications, such as hospital, electronic factories, food processing and pharmaceutical factories;
Casing panels are aesthetically coated with oven-baked polyester paint to provide excellent finish and good corrosion resistance;
Removable access panels are provided for ease of access to critical parts and components for service and repairs.
B. Hermetic Rotary Compressor (Size 20 to Size 30)
Hermetic motor of single phase permanent split capacitor type, refrigerant cooled. Motor fitted with internal thermal protection;
Compressor with internal suspension system and externally mounted on rubber grommets to eliminate vibration and ensure quiet operation;
Compressor fitted with suction accumulator to protect against liquid slugging at start-up
The hermetic Rotary compressor design has high efficiency, low noise and proven reliability.
C. Scroll Compressors (from size 40 to 260)
Scroll hermetic type operating at 2950 rpm (50Hz);High efficiency (high EER), low noise and proven high reliability;
No contact scroll design and suction gas cooled motor ensure long service life;
With internal line break motor protector or solid state motor protector;Unit with twin compressors and dual refrigerant circuits, besides providing for system redundancy, reduces current inrush during start-ups and by cycling on/off of two compressors to match building load, less energy is being used when room load requires lesser cooling capacity.
Consists of outer carbon steel shell with internal bundle of copper finned tubes;
Water travels within the copper finned tubes while hot discharge gas envelopes the outer finned surface of the copper tubes before condensing to liquid;
D. Cleanable Shell & Tube Condenser
Each condenser is built with integral sub-cooling chamber to maximize system efficiency;
Each condenser is provided with a fusible plug which melts when temperature reaches 175°F, releases system refrigerant gas and avoids explosion in case of fire;Complete condenser is leak and pressure tested on both water and refrigerant sides prior to assembly.

E. Evaporator Coil
Constructed from staggered rows of copper tubes mechanically expanded into die formed aluminium fins;The aluminium fins are precoated with low surface tension substance which speeds up the drainage of condensate, eliminates moisture carry-over, maintain the aluminium fins surface dry and clean, and prevent mould formation. The coating also improves the corrosion resistance of the aluminium fins and prevents oxidation of the aluminium surface, thus maintaining good heat rejection.
Coils are leak and pressure tested to 450 psig when immersed
in water;Complete coil is internally evacuated, dehydrated prior to assembly.
F. Direct-Drive Blower-Motor Assembly (Size 20 to Size 60)
Blower of galvanized steel construction, DWDI forward curve blades design, statically and dynamically balanced;
Direct Drive motor resiliently mounted on blower inlet to assure smooth and vibration free performance;
Single Phase permanent split capacitor motor with permanently lubricated ball-bearing;Motor provided with thermal overload protection.
G. Blower Fan & Drive Package for Ducted Belt Drive units (Size 70 to Size 260)
Fan is of Centrifugal forward curved design, with double inlet double width, AMCA certified, suitable for Class II operation;
Pillow block heavy duty bearings to ensure long operating life; Single large diameter fan is used, to reduce noise level, eliminates the need for common transition piece and prevent air unbalance;Complete fan-motor & drive package assembly is resiliently isolated from unit casing by either rubber or spring vibration isolators;All fan wheels are statically and dynamically balanced to ISO1940 and AMCA-204-G2.5 Standard;Optional non-overloading backward airfoil fan can be provided non-loading.
H. Control and Safety Protection
Balanced port thermal expansion valve is provided for each refrigerant circuit to control liquid refrigerant flow while maintaining adequate suction superheat, over a wide variation of condensing head pressures;High-low pressure cut-out to protect compressor against high discharge pressure and low refrigerant charge;
Liquid line filter drier to ensure system dryness and prevent acid formation.
