Recreational Access Boat access is provided by a city-owned dirt boat ramp, located at the southwest corner of the pond (71°21'51.93"W 42°16'22.02"N), that is suitable for small trailer boats, car-top boats and canoes. No gas motors are permitted, electric motors only. Parking is available across the street at Memorial Field. Shoreline access is ample and a paved parking lot is available on the north end of the pond on Pond Street. Please contact the city of Natick for additional information, fee structure, and/or restrictions pertaining to public access of Dug Pond. Fish Populations The following fish species were found during MassWildlife surveys: Largemouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Yellow Perch, White Perch, Brown Bullhead, Carp, and Golden Shiner. Fishing Annual stockings of trout provide most of the action and fishing pressure at this pond every spring. Shore fishing is very productive at this time. The pond also produces some nice Largemouth Bass during the summer months and the panfishing is also good. This pond is also a pretty good bet for local ice fishermen. Dug Pond has produced Carp and Brook Trout that meet the minimum size for recognition by the Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program.
