Outstanding Primer Adhesion

The Dulux X-pert Waterborne Alkyd Primer shows excellent adhesion over a wide variety of substrates. The photography on the right shows the adhesion of the Dulux X-pert Waterborne Alkyd Primer to a glossy alkyd, aged for over a year. While we would always recommend good surface preparation, cleaning and sanding – isn’t it good to know that the Dulux X-pert Waterborne Alkyd will adhere in both instances.

Beautiful Flow and Levelling

All the finishes we offer for doors and trim have good flow and levelling but the Dulux X-pert Waterborne Alkyd Finishes are even better. In this laboratory test we applied a thick coating of each and soon after application, we distressed both products. You can see that the Dulux X-pert Waterborne Alkyd Semi Gloss still flowed out perfectly. The conventional latex product had set up after the same amount of time. Not as good as the flow from a good alkyd, but better than from most latex finishes.

Excellent Stain Blocking Primer

This very early Picasso was obliterated with only one coat of the Dulux X-pert Waterborne Alkyd Primer. Of course, we make no critical judgment on the quality of the work, but it’s good to know you have a product that can give the child a fresh canvas to work on.
