Leader’s report 2010 – 2016 : and look at what we have achieved!

The Group was formed in 2010; merging early on with

members of the now discontinued Sustainable Dunblane

group. Our focus is on sustainability and involving the

wider community as much as possible:

Raising funds • to save the Glen Road to Bridge of Allan from closure

• to help repair the riverside path below the cathedral

Creating and/or maintaining • the War Memorial garden and the 250-metre Hosta border

• the Community Orchard with Dunblane Primary School

• the path between Bridgend and the Haugh with 35 local residents

• a Stumpery near the river for rest or play

• flower beds in the Millrow playpark with the local Beavers group

• a container vegetable garden at the Braeport Centre for young children

Installing welcome maps at the Haining and Millrow car parks in landscaped areas

Lobbying

• Network Rail to build a 50-metre retaining wall at the south end of the Bridgend path

• Stirling Council to repair the core riverside path below the Cathedral which collapsed in 2011
