Welcome to Dungeon Tile Designer

Tired of flipping through dozens of tiles in the hope to as-semble a dungeon suitable for your adventure? Dungeon Tile Designer allows you to design and print all the tiles for your dungeon in few minutes! Now you can run your evening adventure with tiles for the whole dungeon.Dungeon Tile Designer is easy and intuitive and you don’t need any drawing skill to build a nice –looking dungeon tile.

Using this Product

The core of this product is on pages 4-5. You should visualize both pages on your screen in order to use this product at its best. The page on your left is the Master Control Panel (MCP); the page on your right is the tile you are working on. Under the tile some buttons appear, they will not be printed. The MCP controls the tile on your right, each change on the MCP reflects on the tile on your right. The MCP is divided in sections, one for each dungeon feature.

Features of the MCP

Floors Section

Checking the box under each icon will set a differ-ent type of floor; you can even leave it blank by de-selecting all checkboxes and thus sparing some ink.

Grid Section

Checking the box under each icon will set a dif-ferent type of grid. You can even leave it blank by deselecting all checkboxes.

Walls

This is the basic walls section. Clicking inside the squares of the grid will set a wall square on the tile, clicking again will erase it. Click on “clear all” to eliminate all wall squares on the tile or “set all” to set all of them.

Pillars

This section allows you to put a limited number of pillars on the tile. Simply click on the small circles on the grid to set/unset a pillar. Click on “clear all” to eliminate all pillars on the tile or “set all” to set all of them.

Walls, Special

This wall section provides you many walls you can’t obtain with the basic walls feature. Simply check the type of wall you desire. Note that walls can overlap to create unique wall sections. Click on “clear all” to eliminate all special walls on the tile.

Doors

This section works much like the basic walls section, with the exception that you can choose to place a vertical door or a horizontal door. To choose horizontal or vertical doors check the ap-propriate box before clicking on the grid. Note that you can obtain a double door by setting two adjacent doors. Click on “clear all” to eliminate all doors on the tile.

Stairs

This section allows you to place stairs on the tile. Just check the type of stair you want to appear on the tile. Click on “clear all” to eliminate all stairs on the tile.

Features of the TileOnce you have finished your tile just hit the “print this tile” button to print it. Before printing you may want to label your tile, in order to find it more easily, especially if your dungeon is very large. Simply click on the white square on the bottom right of the tile and type your label. If you don’t want to label your tile, just check the “no label” checkbox and the white square will disappear. The “Reset this Tile” button will erase your tile leaving a blank grid. Once you hit this button you can’t go back, so be careful.

How to Make Tiles for your DungeonWe suggest some simple steps to quickly draw tiles for your own dungeon.

Step 1

Print out a copy of the Dungeon Reference Sheet, found on pages 6 and 7 of this product. You can choose a pre-labeled sheet (page 6) or a blank sheet (page 7).

Step 2

With a pencil draw your dungeon on the Dungeon Reference Sheet. Filling the small squares will provide you the basic walls of the dungeon. Then add the features you want (such as stairs, pillars, doors and so on).

Step 3

Place the Dungeon Reference Sheet in front of you and build one tile at time, carefully labeling it (with the Dungeon Reference Sheet pre-labeled just look at the number on the background). Once you have finished print immediately the tile. Then hit the “Reset this Tile” button and start over with this step, until your dungeon is finished.

You can practice by using the sample dungeon provided on page 8.

Tip: Many tiles could be used more than once in your dun-geon. Before starting to assemble your tile, look at your sketch and mark all the tiles that appear more than one time. This will ensure you will not print the same tile more than once.
