Hello Community,

We received 50 bush tucker plants from Indigiscapes which

we have just planted with the help of Mandy Butcher from

Bushcare and our wonderful green thumb parent volunteers

Jess Scott and Fiona Cowell. Pretty exciting to see the begin-

ning of the bush tucker trail finally started.

Big call-out to all the builders/landscapers in the area to

donate timber, paint, brushes or anything we can use to

beautify our gardens.

The garden group meet every Wednesday morning at 9am.

Please feel free to come and join us, the more the merrier!

Lauren Roth, Yulu Burri Ba’s new health worker has kindly

given us her time to come in and help out every morning in

the brekkie club. Lauren is also conducting hearing checks

and follow up checks throughout the year with the students.

Thank you, Yulu for your time and support .

If you have any community events you would like in the

newsletter please feel free to call Elisha Iselin on 34096333

For persistence and

commitment to their

school goals

Year 3/4 students are learning about growing plants in Science

We have learnt that all plants need water, soil and sunlight to grow. Last week we ob-

served bean seeds, one was dry and one had been soaked. We compared the differ-

ences between them. The dry seed was hard, smooth and about

one centimetre wide, while the soaked seed was

soft, smelly and much bigger than the dry seed.

We opened the soaked seed and we noticed that

the root had stared to grow because the water had

activated the embryo. In this Science unit we will also germinate a

seed, grow bean plants and conduct a scientific investigation about the

conditions seeds need to begin growing.

Also this term we have been learning about maps and Australia in Geography as well

as reading a book called Kumiko and the Dragon. Next week we will begin to write a

narrative. The Year 4 students are sometimes do-

ing different activities. They read with Chaplain

Tracey and with the Year 2s every week. Year 4

students are also are completing their Maths and

English units with Ms East.

Being in Year 3/4 is hard

work but fun and awesome.

UNIFORM SHOP NEWS

If you are waiting on a custom-made blouse or dress order, please ring or text me so I can check on your order.

We have quite a few lovely custom-made skorts in stock. They are very comfy and last a long time.

A new batch of polo shirts with the school logo printed on the front has arrived. The shirts are $8 each. A big THANK YOU to Dallas Stephens at the Shirt Shack for donating his time to print the logos.

Please let me know if you are interested in being re-sponsible for opening the Uniform Shop on Monday mornings before parade, as this is when most parents are at school. It is an easy job, and a great way to assist the P&C.

In the meantime, the Uniform Shop will be open before school on Thursdays, or contact me for alternative times. Thanks Lisa 0409 642 015
