ABOUT POWDER COATING
Powder Coating is an environmentally friendly
and easy-to-use coating solution, which manages
to combine very high durability with innovative
and sophisticated decorative finishes on both
metal, and heat-sensitive substrates.
Additionally, high transfer efficiencies (98%),
make it one of the most cost-effective paint
solutions available on the market.
DUPONT POWDER COATINGS
With manufacturing sites everywhere in the
world and an extensive sales network around
the world, DuPont Powder Coatings has
positioned itself to be the right partner for
international as well as local customers.
DuPont offers a complete range of innovative
coating solutions providing optimal corrosion
protection with a strong aesthetic appeal.
The ALESTA® brand is the clear Global market
leader in Architectural, Automotive and other
Industrial market segments.
THE DUPONT GROUP
DuPont is a science company, delivering
science-based solutions in markets such as
food and nutrition, healthcare, apparel, home
and construction, electronics and transportation.
Two hundred years ago, DuPont was primarily
an explosives company. One century ago, our
focus turned to global chemicals, materials
and energy. Today, entering our third century,
we bring about science-based solutions that
make real differences to real lives.
Our ability to adapt to change and our
foundation of unending scientific enquiry
has enabled us to evolve into one of the
world’s most innovative companies.
But in the face of constant change,
innovation and discovery, our core values
have remained constant: search for the
highest quality, commitment to safety,
health and the environment, integrity
and high ethical standards, and treating
people with fairness and respect.
7
It was only in the early 1970‘s that powder
coatings first entered the architectural market,
but are today the leading coating solution
for aluminium or galvanised steel for building
components as varied as cladding, or doors
& windows. Powder coated components provide
architects with a previously unknown high
level of design freedom, and make for an easy
match with other building materials such
as glass, plastics, or wood. Color and surface
finish can be easily adjusted to individual
aesthetic preferences without compromising
any of the strong functional properties, such
as weatherability, elasticity, and the high impact
and abrasion resistance.
Powder coatings offer the following advantages:
Great choice of colours, shades, and effects:
An unlimited choice of colours, gloss levels,
metallic, and pearl, effects, are available to
the market.
High variety of surface finishes:
Textures, leatherette, hammer, wrinkle,
and other finishes, give unique appearances
to the substrate and at the same time cover
surface imperfections.
Excellent mechanical properties:
A high level of impact resistance and edge
protection are achieved through only a single
layer coating.
Ease of application and low conversion cost:
Single layer coating, and material transfer
efficiencies of up to 98%, (because of the
recovery & re-use of the overspray), substantially
reduce the applied cost.
Environmentally and ecologically
friendly coatings:
Powder coatings are solvent free, and our products
do not contain either Lead or TGIC.

ALESTA®
ARCHITECTURALCOATINGS
DuPont offers a complete range of products
with excellent mechanical & weathering resistance
characteristics, which makes them particularly
suitable for outdoor architectural purposes.
As well as a ‘standard’ durable finish, DuPont has
also developed ‘Superdurable’ finishes for extremely
hostile weathering environments.
The range includes full gloss, semi gloss or matt
finishes, and varying levels of textures such as,
leatherette, wrinkled and sand textured.
Both speckled & metallic finishes are readily
available, as you would expect, but increasingly,
it is pearlescents & other new variants that are
being specified to give your product that outstanding
decorative effect.
As a vital part of our customer service programme,
we create and maintain our own collection of
