Dutch Boat Show ‘Boot Holland’ Sailboats, sloops, speed boats and luxury yachts; Boot Holland had it all. A mixed audience has visited this popular boat show. Besides the numerous boats there were booths with many amenities for water sports such as life jackets, clothes, cushions and of course the necessary equipment from Victron Energy. A good atmosphere prevailed on the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden (The Netherlands). More than 300 exhibitors were spread over 5 halls, showing their newest developments. Solar Boat Visitors of Boat Holland could take a closer look at the Solar boat ‘Furia One’. With this solar boat, from which the electronics were developed by MG Electronics, the Dutch Solar Team won the championship during the Solar Boat Challenge in 2009. The Furia Boat Team was co- sponsored by Victron Energy. Inflatable Boats There were also many new RIBS (Rigid Inflatable Boats) exhibited. These RIBS are fitted with inflable collars or tubes, this makes them almost unsinkable. RIBS are curently being used as rescue boats by the RNLI and as patrol boats by the military. Huge barge An eye catcher at the fair was a huge barge, known as ‘Lemsteraak HI 1’ (designed by Dirk Blom) This barge has a total length of 16.5 meters and is worth 1.2 million euros. The ‘Lemsteraak HI 1’ is equipped with a Victron system of 3 x 3k MultiPlus and a VE. BUS system. Victron equipment The various booths which respresented Victron Energy were the place to be for those who were interested in fitting their boat with electronic equipment. “Victron has a wide range suitable for most of the boats that were exhibited at Boat Holland”, says Johannes Boonstra, Sales Manager at Victron Energy. Many ships at the pier in Leeuwar- den are equipped with a Victron system. Thanks to the representatives of Victron Energy, this years fair was a success. “Our distributors Lasaulec, Combi Noord, TCN, Aqua Solar and Friesland Yacht Service have done a great job!” said Johannes.
