    I.DYNAnalysisWindows

    ForDYN,therearefourdifferentanalysiswindowsthatausermaysee:thetraditionalcardview,raw

    dataview,pumpanalysisview,andvalvetestview(ifavalvetestwasperformed).

    CardViewThedefaultviewfortheDYNmoduleisthetraditionaltwocardview(Figure1). Inadditiontoshowing

    boththesurfaceandpumpcards,thisscreenalsodisplaysapumpanimation,tubingpressuregauge

    (whenpressurewasacquired),anddigitalsshowingvalueslikefillageandpumpdisplacement. Onthis

    screen,theusercanalsomanuallyadjustastrokesfillagebysimplyclickinganddraggingtheEPTcursor

    onthescreen.

    RawDataViewInsomecases,usersmaywishtoseetherawdatathatwasacquiredfromthesensors. Userscanswitch

    betweenthecardviewandrawdataviewbyclickingthebuttoninthetoprightcorner,directlyunder

    thereportbutton(seeFigure2). Onthisscreen,userscanviewtherawloadandaccelerationdata.

    Theyalsohavetheoptionstoviewpressure(whenacquired),position,andvelocity. Filterscanalsobe

    usedto

    apply

    smoothing

    to

    the

    displayed

    curves.

    Engineering

    units

    versus

    raw

    units

    (mV/V)

    can

    be

    toggledusingtheEngUnitsbuttoninthetopleftcorneroftheanalysisscreen.

    PumpAnalysisViewUserscanswitchbetweenthecardviewandpumpanalysisviewbyclickingtheviewbuttonunderneath

    therawdataviewsswitchbutton,asseeninFigure3. Withthisscreen,theusercanviewnotonlythe

    loadofthepumpcardandtheplungermoves,butalsoviewthechamberpressure. Thepump

    animationisalsoexpandedtoshowanaxisindicatingthemovementofthestandingvalve. Additional

    annotationslike

    discharge

    pressure

    of

    pump

    intake

    pressure

    are

    also

    present

    on

    this

    screen

    and

    can

    be

    turnedonandoffusingtheAnnotationsdialog(SectionIV).

    ValveTestViewIftheuserperformedavalvetestwhileacquiringdynamometerdata,thenhemayviewthevalvetest

    screenbyselectingavalvetestfromthestrokeviewercontrol(SectionII). Oneofthenovelfeaturesof

    TAMistheabilitytoautomaticallydetecttheoccurrenceofvalvetestsduringthenormalacquisitionof

    aDYNtest;nomodeshiftisrequired. Onthevalvetestscreentheuserwillbeshownaplotcontaining

    theload

    values

    acquired

    over

    time

    (Figure

    4).

    Candidate

    intervals

    for

    valve

    tests

    will

    be

    shown

    in

    gray.

    TheusercandirectlymanipulatethesizeandpositionoftheyellowTVregiontospecifyaleakage

    intervalforthetravelingvalveandcanmovetheSVcursortothepositionwhereitscorrespondingload

    shouldbemeasured. Resultsareshowninthedigitalsbelowtheplot.

    II.SelectingStrokesinDYNStrokesareselectedinDYNviathestrokeviewercontrol,whichcanbeaccessedthroughthebuttonin

    thetoprightoftheanalysisscreen,directlybesidetherawdatabutton(Figure5). Toswitchtoa

    differentstroke,simplyclickit. ClickingoncellslabeledwithaTVorSVwilltakeyoutothevalvetest

    screen.

    YoucanalsooverlaymultiplestrokesontopofoneanotherbyholdingCtrlwhileyouareclicking

    strokes. IfyouclickwhileholdingShift,youwillbeabletoselectarangeofstrokes. Rightclickingona

    strokewillgiveyoutheoptiontoLockorUnlockastroke. Whenastrokeislocked,itwillalwaysbe

    selectedasanoverlayasyouclickthroughotherstrokes. Finally,youcanselectallstrokesbyhitting

    Ctrl+Aonthekeyboard,orbyrightclickingastrokeandselectingSelectAll. ClickingonacelllabeledVTwilltakeyoutothevalvetestscreenforthetest.

    III.DYNReplayClickingontheReplaybuttonontheDYNanalysiswindowwillopenupreplaycontrols. These

    controlswillallowyoutoviewtheincomingstrokesasifyouwereviewingthemoriginallyduring

    acquisition.

    ControlsFigure6showsthereplaycontrolsdialog. Someofthebasiccontrolsincludeplay,stop,pause,and

    rewind. Thereisalsoaloopbutton(circulararrow)thatwillallowreplaytocontinueindefinitelyuntil

    theuserdecidestostopreplay. Belowthesebuttonsareplusandminusbuttonsthatcanbeusedto

    controltheplaybackspeed. Playbackspeedinclude:0.25xspeed,0.5xspeed,1xspeed,2xspeed,4x

    speed,and8xspeed. Theusercanalsospecifyastrokerangetouseforreplaybyenteringtherange

    intotheprovidedtextboxesandclickingUpdate.

    SelectingaStrokeRangeInadditiontomanuallyenteringinarangeinthetextboxesofthereplaydialog,theusercanalsospecify

    arangebyopeningupthestrokevieweralongsidethereplaydialog,asseeninFigure7. Onthestroke

    viewer,atransparentblueareawillappearontheselectedstrokerange. Theendsofthisboxcanbe

    clickedanddraggedtospecifyanewrange. Additionally,aredlinewillappearonthestrokeviewerto

    indicatethe

    current

    replay

    position.

    MakingaMovieAnotheroptionallowedbythereplaycontrolsistheabilitytomakeamoviefileofstrokeplayback.

    SimplyclickMakeMovieandasavedialogwillappear,allowingtheusertospecifyasavelocationof

    themoviefile(Figure8). Themoviewillbegeneratedusingthestrokerangeandspeedsettings

    specifiedinthereplaydialog. Moviegenerationoccursinthebackgroundoftheapplication,sotheuser

    canstill

    work

    in

    TAM

    while

    amovie

    file

    is

    being

    created.

    IV.DYNAnnotationsEachDYNanalysisscreenhasacertainsetofannotationsthatcanbeturnedonandoffdependingon

    thelevelofdetailtheuserisinterestedinseeing. Mostoftheseannotationsappearascursorsonthe

    plotsofparticularviews. Toturnannotationsonoroff,simplyclicktheAnnotationsbuttononthe

    cardorpumpanalysisview(Figure9). TableIshowsabriefoverviewofwhateachoptioninthe

    annotationsdialogdoes,aswellastheDYNviewsthatareaffectedbyit.

    anotherusingthestrokeviewer. ClickingthePreviousStrokesbuttonwillbringupadialogthatis

    similartotheadvancedsearchdialog. Ausercanchoosetooverlaythestrokesfromuptofivedifferent

    testsby

    clicking

    the

    checkbox

    next

    to

    each

    test

    they

    wish

    to

    overlay

    (see

    Figure

    10).

    V.DYNFineTuneTheFineTunedialogcanbeaccessedthroughtheFineTunebuttononthecardorpumpanalysisview

    (Figure11). Currently,thisdialogonlyallowstheusertomodifythedampingfactorusedforcard

    calculation. Theusercanmodifythedampingfactorusedforcardcalculation,choosetoderampthe

    cards,resetvalveopen/closepoints,orreprocesstheentiretest.

    ValveOpen/ClosePointsTheusercanchoosetomanuallymovethepointsonapumpcardwherethetravelingvalveand

    standingvalveopenandclose.Simplymouseoverthepointtomoveandclickanddragtothedesired

    position.Thefinetunescreenprovidesabuttontoresetthepositions.

    ReprocessingTheuserisallowedtocompletelyreprocessatest.Thisrecalculateswherestrokesandvalvetestsstart

    andstop,andwithnewerversionsofTAMcanresultinfindingmorestrokesandvalvetests.The

    drawbacktothisisthatanyanalysissettings,suchasvalveopen/closepoints,selectedstrokes,and

    valveanalysis,arelost.

    VI.DYNPlotInteractionThereareseveralinterestingaspectstobenotedwhendealingwithplotinteractiononthecardview

    andpumpanalysisDYNscreens.

    FollowDotFirst,areddotwillfollowtheusersmousecursoraroundashetracesthecurvesofthecardplots

    (Figure12). Thecursorwilldisplaythecurrentpositionandloadvaluenexttothereddotandwillalso

    updatethepumpanimationandtubingpressuregauges. Ifauserwishestolockthedotinplaceand

    haveitnolongerfollowthemousecursor,theycandosobysimplyrightclickingitandselectingthe

    Lockoption. RepeatingtheprocessandchoosingUnlockwillreenablethedot. Atanypoint,the

    usercanalsocontrolthefollowdotusingtheleftandrightarrowkeysonthekeyboard.
