Bob Corr Bob Corr has been designing and implementing Diver applications since 1994, and is particularly adept at integrating Diver with new systems and engineering proof of concept applications. He has worked with many clients; mainly those with multi-national operations where BI applications are required to bring information together in one place. Delivering applications that permit companies to save time and money, and make better educated decisions that are critical to their success, Bob has a proven wealth of business experience.
Fred Powers Fred Powers co-founded Dimensional Insight, Inc. in 1989 with Stan Zanarotti. Prior to establishing DI, Fred served as a U.S. Naval Officer at the Pentagon where he designed the Naval Command Center’s first graphical presentation system for understanding readiness and asset data. As a defence contractor, Fred engineered database development projects relating to the status of forces and at Honeywell, he designed information systems for business processes relating to sales, marketing, and service. Powers holds a BSc in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and completed an in-house MBA program while at Honeywell. He has lectured at MIT Sloan School of Management, Boston University, Babson College, Sao Paolo University, and New York University on the application of dashboards, reporting and analytics technology in business.

Thomas Van Praag Thomas van Praag is Managing Director of Dimensional Insight Netherlands. Prior to Dimensional Insight, Thomas founded COPE, a software company specialising in business intelligence solutions. He co-founded COPE Healthcare Solutions, a company specialising in processing and analysing complex billing data from Dutch hospitals and healthcare insurers. COPE was an independent distributor of The Diver Solution until 2010, when it was acquired by Dimensional Insight. Thomas graduated from Leiden University in 1995, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence and Psychology.
Alain Van Den Berg Alain van den Berg is a Diver specialist and software developer working for Dimensional Insight Netherlands since 2007. Alain is a member of the development team for Visual Integrator, and more recently DI-Production and Workbench, working closely with colleagues on the Research & Development team in Cambridge, MA. He has studied Computer Science and received his Masters degree at the Technical University of Delft.

Post Operative Wound Infection Thomas will talk on the collaboration between DI and MIPS (a Belgian company that provides a system used in hospital laboratories) for general reporting and a Wounds Infection Application for predicting the likelihood of patients contracting MRSA whilst in hospital. MIPS has clients in 80 hospitals in the Netherlands and some in the UK and Ireland.
BWG—Still Finding New Uses for Diver after 14 Years Diver has been BWG’s business analysis tool since 1999. Its use in consolidating diverse business units and providing comprehensive retail KPIs has been instrumental in the company’s continuing success in the highly competitive retail sector. As chief information analyst, Gareth uses Diver daily to provide ongoing analysis on retail trends, loyalty, product penetration and stock analysis, to mention just a few areas.

Gareth Dawson Gareth Dawson has been with BWG since 1998. He works with all managerial levels in the organisation to provide their Key Performance Metrics using Diver. He spoke at DBI’s first conference in 2004 but was keen to speak again this year and to tell us why, after 14 years, BWG are still finding new uses for Diver.
YY Tsang A member of the Diver BI Group and working closely with DBI, YY Tsang is Managing Director of Data Management Business Insight (DMBI). YY began his IT profession in 1986 managing IBM mainframes before moving to Asia to work in business automation, client management and solution consulting to multi-national and government clients. Industry sectors managed include mobile operators, banking and finance, manufacturing, utilities and library. YY brings together a strong business operations background with technical skills in Diver to offer customers meaningful business insight to boost business performance.

Mike McKay Mike McKay is currently Head of IS for Polypipe, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of plastic piping systems for residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. Mike is responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure, business systems and communications in support of Polypipe’s operating businesses. Having spent the first 6 years of his career in Manufacturing Operations supplying capital equipment to the food industry, Mike has for the last 19 years worked in Information Systems. After a number of years in Project Management roles, implementing ERP solutions in industries as diverse as retail distribution, electronics, aerospace & defence and construction products, Mike has for the last 13 years been in charge of the Information Systems function. He has been at Polypipe for the last 9 years and previous to that, William Grant & Sons, a global, independent premium spirits business. It was there where Mike was first introduced to Dimensional Insight and the Diver solution.
Peter Wass Peter is the MD of Chartwell IT, a founder member of the Diver BI Group. He has over 20 years’ experience as an IT professional within the Merchanting, FMCG distribution and CRM software industries. He has implemented Diver not only as a reporting tool but also to analyse and transform source data before feeding it back to the originating ERP system in a format that adds value for upselling products and stock. He is also a Kerridge specialist. Peter has successfully combined his IT technical skills with a strong understanding of commercial realities to deliver tangible business benefits to his clients.
Philip Byers Philip Byers is a strategic and business consultant providing services to clients in the SME sector. He has worked with clients across all business categories including IT, Pharmaceutical, Distribution, Waste management, Legal, Financial. He also lectures on Marketing Communications and International Marketing. Prior to setting up PBL he worked in the pharmaceutical and grocery industries in Sales, Marketing, Communications, Strategic Planning and General Management.

DBI’s DIVETUNE © John and YY will demonstrate this new comprehensive performance tuning tool created by DBI to enhance the diving experience of all users and system administrators. It applies techniques developed over 10 years to highlight inefficient markers, model building issues and resource hungry users and reports. It also benchmarks your server against other Diver servers and classifies markers, models and users according to their level of usage. The process is fully automatic and includes alerts to highlight issues as they are found.
VI 5.1.20, DI-Production, New Divemaster & Workbench Alain will demonstrate some features of the new Visual Integrator 5.1.20 – designed to simplify the creation and editing of Diver scripts, help you avoid making “silly” errors, and allow for easier testing. He will also demonstrate in more detail the new Divemaster, DI-Production and the new developer workbench.

Diver iPad Application & Bubble Charts for Analysis YY will demonstrate DiveTab's ability to dive into 100 Million rows of data on the iPad via a demo Sales Application. He follows up with a practical overview on how to build a product analysis bubble chart to separate 1,000s of products into “Stars” and “Cash Cows” categories for sales analysis.
Creating an Application Side-by-Side with Diver Paul will demonstrate in a hands-on practical fashion a number of simple yet powerful techniques for blending the Diver Solution with other applications in a way that appears transparent to the end-user. The demonstration will show how Diver can live side-by-side with another application and interact with it in useful and interesting ways, creating a seamless experience for the user.
