Production Bill Of Material (BOM)
• A BOM is a list of all components and subassemblies needed to make a final product or finished good.
• The list contains the description, the quantity, and unit of measure.
Capacities
• Work center Groups
It is a Reporting unit such as Production or Inventory department, rather than a facility in which work can be scheduled.
• Work Center
Work centers are specific locations where work can be performed. It can be Machines, Group of Machines and People.
• Machine Center
Machine centers are the lowest level of a facility in the hierarchy and represents Machine, Group of machines, Person or a Group of People.
Capacities
Routing
• A routing specify the sequence of operations to manufacture a product. The operations can be performed at a work center or at a machine center, also referred to as capacities or facilities. Manufacturing companies use routings to manage and show the production process.
• Types of Routing
Serial - indicates that operations are performed consecutively.
Parallel - indicates that two separate, unrelated operations can be performed simultaneously. Parallel operations reduce throughput time, increase efficiency, and help reduce the complexity in the BOM structure.

Production Orders
• Production orders (job or work orders) route work through various facilities (work or machine centers) on the shop floor.
• Production orders are used to manage the conversion of purchased materials into manufactured items.
Production Order status
• Simulated – The main purpose is for quoting and costing
• Planned - A planned production order represents the best estimate of the future load for the work center or machine center load based on available information
• Firm Planned - A firm planned production order acts as a placeholder in the planning schedule for some future job released to the floor
• Released - Production order is released into the production floor
• Finished - A finished production order is typically one that has been manufactured
Production Order Processing
• Consumption Journal – To record Material Consumption
• Output Journal – To record Capacities consumed and FG produced
• Production Journal – To record both Raw material consumption and for to record capacities consumed FG produced
