Background

Dynamics of New Hire Training

• Late in 2006 moving into 2007 we discussed the “low time” and “lower experienced” pilot market! Initial AQP data showed trends that required additional training resources.

• In 2008 AQP trends and analysis showed us that we needed to concentrate on the first time Continuing Qualification crew members.

• Changes were made and the results were seen immediately.

Advanced Qualification Program for the Initial Pilot Training

Dynamics of New Hire Training

• To define additional training requirements. • Identified the needed information to make a New Hire

Pilot successful.• Outline of the Launch Program.• Ground School Sessions (Subjects Covered).• Simulator Sessions (FTD/ Full Flight Simulator).• Advanced Qualification Program data gave us a way

to provide the needs of a New Hire pilot regardless of experience level entering the airline training environment.

MV and LOE Grading Scale

# 1. Unsatisfactory - Major deviations from the prescribed qualifications standards occur that are not recognized or corrected.

Individual or crew performance could result in hull loss or life. CRM skills are not effective.

# 2. De-Brief - Deviations occur from the prescribed qualifications standards that are recognized and most corrected.

Individual or crew performance meets expectations. CRM skills are effective.

# 3. Standard - Minor deviations occur from the prescribed qualifications standards that are recognized and corrected in a timely matter.

Individual or crew performance meets expectations. CRM skills are clearly effective.

# 4. Performance - Remains well within the prescribed qualifications standards.
