Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centers (AC&ABC) Scheme:

An overview MANAGE is entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating training and hand-

holding of the selected agricultural professionals under the AC&ABC scheme.

MANAGE has been arranging a 2-month free residential training in Agri-

entrepreneurship development for eligible agricultural professionals in their respec-

tive states through a network of 82 Nodal Training Institutes (NTIs). The training is

followed by one-year handholding support from the NTIs for establishing Agri-

ventures. The trained agripreneurs are also assisted through start-up loans and

credit-linked back-ended composite subsidy through banks and NABARD. The

PGDAEM-MOOCs

An Online Post Graduate Di-

ploma in Agricultural Extension

M a n a g e m e n t , PGDAEM-MOOCs has been

launched by the National Institute

of Agricultural Extension Man-

agement (MANAGE), for gradu-

ates who aspire to enrich their

knowledge in Agricultural Exten-

sion Management. The course is

open to graduates (both Indian

and foreign nationals) of various

disciplines i.e. students, officials

and non officials and others.

There is no age limit to apply. The registration for PGDAEM-

MOOCs is open from 3rd March,

2017 and till 15th April, 2017.

First National Agripreneurs’ Convention,

A nationwide Agri-start-up on one platform:

A high feat of MANAGE

The First National Agripreneurs’ Convention, Agri-Startups Exhibition and

Award Ceremony organized by the National Institute of Agricul-

tural Extension Management (MANAGE) at Hyderabad during 7-9th

March, 2017 at HMDA Ground, Adjacent to Prasad’s IMAX Theatre,

Necklace Road, Hyderabad is the first of its kind event in which 125 Stalls

showcased Agri-Startups and Institutional support to Agri-Startups. More

than 1000 Agripreneurs participated and around 5000 visitors visited dur-

ing the 3 days Agripreneurs Convention focusing on Business expan-

sion partnerships and 53 outstanding Agripreneurs representing 25 States

were awarded and honored. During the convention Shri Shobhana K

Pattanayak, Secretary (A&C), MoA & FW, GoI released a Book on Good

Governance in Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Films made by Mr.

Jagadish Dhanani, Agripreneur, Gujarat, Book and Videos on Certified

Farm Advisor and Millet Calendar -2017.

First National Agripreneurs’ Convention, Agri Start-ups Exhibition and

Award Ceremony Inaugurated by Shri Shobhana K Pattanayak, IAS,

Hon’ble Secretary (A&C), MoA&FW, GoI, in presence of Shri C. Par-

thasarathi, IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Govt. of Telan-

gana and Smt. V. Usha Rani, IAS, Director General, MANAGE and Dr.

Dr. David Bergvinson (Chief Guest) Director General, ICRISAT, Hy-

derabad mentioned in his address that, the convention is a fantastic testi-

mony to MANAGE

Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director, Agricultural Extension,

MANAGE, welcome all distinguished guests and reiterated the aim of

organizing the first national level Agripreneurs convention as he stated

“programme aims at bringing all Agripreneurs together, linking them to

business partners and other stakeholders and recognizing their services to farmers”.

Smt.V. Usha Rani, IAS, Director General, MANAGE, inspiration

and leadership behind organizing First National Agripreneurs Conven-

tion at Hyderabad, during her address, mentioned that today is ‘Golden

Letter Day’ for MANAGE, emphasizing the need for Agripreneurship in

the country and MANAGE achievement in implementing AC&ABC scheme from last one decade.

Shri C. Parthasarathi, IAS, (Guest of Honor) Agriculture Produc-

tion Commissioner, Govt. of Telangana, mentioned that, “after seeing

120 start-ups we are wordless on this occasion” and he heartily con-

gratulated MANAGE for organizing a successful convention inviting

all stakeholders under one roof, sharing their experiences, innovative models and their product/services.

Shri Shobhana K Pattanayak, IAS, Hon’ble Secretary (A&C),

MoA&FW, GoI, congratulated MANAGE and all the Agripreneurs for

making the convention successful. He pointed out that, India is a super

power in Agriculture now and today the whole world is coming to India

and wants to invest in India.

Shri Shobhana K Pattanayak, IAS, Hon’ble Secretary (A&C),

MoA&FW, GoI, inaugurated the Agri start-up exhibition at HMDA

ground, necklace road, Hyderabad. The 3-day Agri-start-up exhibition

saw 125 Agripreneurs from 25 States presenting their novel products/

services made by using local resources and showcasing technologies. In

addition, there were several Institutional stalls (by NIPHM, IIMR,

CRIDA, DPR, NAARM, PJTSAU, NABARD, PNB and MANAGE)

during the exhibition, and more than 1000 Agripreneurs participated in the

3 days Agripreneurs Convention focusing on Business expansion, net-

working and partnerships. During the three days exhibition about 5000

visitors from public/private domain visited the exhibition. The exhibition platform

during three days created lot of business for all the exhibitors starting from 2.5

Lakh to more than a Crore. Shri Pattanayak, Secretary (A&C), visited all the Agri

start-up stalls and interacted with the Agripreneurs with Shri C. Parthasarathi, IAS,

Agriculture Production Commissioner, Govt. of Telangana , Smt. V. Usha Rani,

IAS, Director General, MANAGE and Dr. David Bergvinson, Director General,

ICRISAT, Hyderabad.

The International Women’s day on 8th March, 2017 was celebrated by inviting 10 successful women agripreneurs from

different states of India and encouraging them to share their initiatives and success stories. Successful women Agripreneurs

revealed their journey in Agripreneurship mentioning the initial problems they faced and how they overcame those problems

with their positive attitude. All the Agripreneurs acknowledged their sincere thanks to MANAGE for supporting them by pro-

viding two months training that ignited their minds to take the initiation by starting their Agri-enterprises. In this occasion, Di-

rector General MANAGE Smt. V. Usharani opined that, role of women in agriculture is huge and there are opportunities for

women in Agripreneuership in the country. Further, Director General highlighted that, presently the environment for Agri-

startups and women Agripreneurs is immense in the country. “Strong Women Helps herself and Powerful Women Helps

Everyone in the Society” DG, MANAGE said.

www.agriclinics.net is the portal providing information about Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres Scheme. The

portal gives updates on eligibility criteria, training institutes, training progress, handholding activities, finance

options and subsidy to the prospective Agripreneurs. The website also provides information on details of estab-

lished Agriventures, pending projects, relevant schemes etc., and other information useful for State governments,

Agricultural Universities, Banks, Training Institutes and Agripreneurs.
