Activities Highlights (I) English Activities ENGLISH OUTSIDE CLASSROOMS This year, students of all forms have engaged themselves in all sorts of English Activities organised at School and outside School so as to put what they have learnt in authentic use. Other than language enriching opportunities, they have also grown to learn the virtues of sportsmanship, teamwork, school spirit, and peer appreciation. (i) 2016/17 Toastmasters Youth Leadership Programme With the unceasing support from our external convener, Mr Daniel Wong, 21 students ranging from S1 to S4 have benefited from the 7-sessioned programme this year. Participants developed their skills in prepared speech writing, public speaking, impromptu topic speaking, as well as their potential in convening a Toastmasters meeting by taking up different roles. 1. Activities Highlights

(I) English Activities

ENGLISH OUTSIDE CLASSROOMS

This year, students of all forms have engaged themselves

in all sorts of English Activities organised at School and

outside School so as to put what they have learnt in

authentic use. Other than language enriching

opportunities, they have also grown to learn the virtues of sportsmanship, teamwork,

school spirit, and peer appreciation.

(i) 2016/17 Toastmasters Youth Leadership Programme

With the unceasing support from our external convener, Mr Daniel Wong, 21 students

ranging from S1 to S4 have benefited from the 7-sessioned programme this year.

Participants developed their skills in prepared speech writing, public speaking,

impromptu topic speaking, as well as their potential in convening a Toastmasters

meeting by taking up different roles. Some of them further deepened their endeavours

in an authentic adult-based Toastmasters meeting held at L’hotel in Tin Hau in the

evening of 30 March, 2017.

(ii) Building a thankful and caring school environment

To celebrate the American Thanksgiving Day and to accentuate the virtues of being

grateful for what and whom we have in our lives, a Song Dedication activity was

organized on 21 and 24 November, 2016 for students and teachers to spread their word

of love. The occasion also allowed students to learn language items from the chosen

song lyrics and introduced them to some new pop culture icons.

Another song dedication activity was organised for S6 students. S1 to S5 students could

draw a card and write a message to express their heartfelt gratitude, appreciation and

support for their S6 counterparts.

Our lyrics posted with colorful messages. Our student DJs reading out messages

of love and care.

English Across the Curriculum

(i) S1 and S2 Spelling Bee

Inter-class Spelling Bee Competitions were organized among S1 and S2 classes

respectively on 8 and 9 May, 2017, to facilitate students English vocabulary acquisition

in various humanity subjects. It was also an occasion for students to demonstrate class

spirit and quick-wit!

(ii) S2 Fashion Show

The fashion show features the theme of The Four Seasons to allow Secondary Two

students an in-depth exploration to create meaningful and wearable artworks that bring

out positive messages such as love and care for nature as well as forging a harmonious

relationship between mankind and animals. The show is the culmination of a cross-

curricular programme jointly organized by the Visual Arts and English departments.

(iii) S1 English Day Camp

What will our daily necessities look like in the future? Perhaps S1 students may give

you a glimpse of what our life will be. Students designed various creative, original

products and tried to apply them in daily life. The instructors were not only impressed

with their brilliant ideas, but also their confidence in promoting their commodities.

(iv) Spending our lunch breaks at the English Room

The English Room engages students in year-round co-curricular English activities

during their lunch breaks so that they can reinstate their knowledge and skills learnt

during class with their friends and the NET teacher interactively.

S1 students trying their best to pass on the given tongue twisters to their

teammates, then finally recounting them to the NET teacher.

(v) 18th HKPTU Debating Competition

The new English Debating Team that is mostly comprised of S2 students has challenged

itself to take on the Competition in the S2 EMI stream so as to actualise their potentials

and overcome their limits. The 7 S2 students have competed up to Round 3 of the

Competition with debating skills and team spirit much gained.

(vi) 8th Inter-Government Secondary Schools English Debating

Competition

Carrying on from our tradition, our English Debating Team has endeavoured in the

Competition relentlessly despite the challenges that our mostly young Team members

face. Regardless, the Team completed the Competition as 2nd Runner-up, with Ida Hung

Nga Yuet awarded as the Best Debater in both the Preliminary Round and Quarter-

Finals. Other than participating in the event as debaters, the Team is also upholding the

true spirit of sportsmanship and inter-government schools bond with its unconditional

services to the Organising Committee as event hosts for both the Quarter-Finals and

Grand Finals matches.

of S2 debaters, the rest of the Team

supported them as hosts of the

(vii) Our World in Ten Years with RTHK - The Speaker

3 of our students, Lucas Lai of 2D, Amanda Lee Yik Lam of 5A, and Ida Hung Nga

Yuet of 5D competed for our School in a new inter-school public speaking contest

organized by the RTHK – The Speaker, in November 2016. The 3 of them shared

their concerns and perspectives for our world in the time to come with respects to

smart technology, terrorism, and education policies.

(viii) “We write to taste life twice”

To challenge their own potential in story writing and in hopes of immersing themselves

in a native English learning environment over this summer, 3 of our S5 students

participated in UK Summer School Competition 2016/17 organised by the British

Council. Amanda Lee Yik Lam, Lily Quimpo Ng, and Bobo Leung Ka Po of 5A lived

virtually as the iconic British celebrities in present times for a day in their imaginary

pieces.

A day as Paddington

"Rise and shine! It’s time to get up, Paddington." An unknown but mellifluous voice

said.

I opened my eyes and saw a sparrow, who looked at me in confusion and asked,

"Paddington, are you ok?"

Is that a talking bird? Wait, it called me Paddington? My childhood favorite? In awe,

I looked at my hands and stared at a hairy claw. I doubted if I were dreaming, but

everything felt so real.

“Good morning, but who are you?"

"I am Ginny. Why do you always forget me when you wake up?" The unfamiliar girl

answered as she rolled her eyes.

Suddenly, a stripe of white light flashed before my eyes and memories flooded my

mind. Everything told me that I was really Paddington, the talkable bear living in

London. Yet, how could this be?

The sparrow dropped me the newspapers with its beak in order not to raise any

suspicion. I started the day as usual – reading the newspapers. I knew I didn’t have

to pretend for long as I could tell the Browns would leave for work or school soon.

It would be relieving because I still didn’t quite know what was going on. To find out

more about this Paddington I were, I had a witty chat with Ginny at breakfast.

Apparently, Paddington is no longer the innocent bear who had just left his homeland.

He has become an Animal Ambassador who stood up for wild animals. All of this

started out with his intention to protect his friends after experiencing his tragic past

– being thrown out of his homeland and unknowingly shipped to the cold streets of

London. Another reason is he wanted to earn some money - to ease the expenditures

of the Browns, to take Aunt Lucy to London, to establish an animal protection

fund….. I could feel the weight on my shoulders yet as I listened, though I was still

trying to settle the shock of me being Paddington, I was driven by his bravery and

kindness.

Without knowing what better else to do after the Browns left, I surfed on the most

visited websites on the smartphone which Ginny said was mine. There was an article

featuring the indiscriminate killing of animals. Extreme rage rose from the bottom of

my heart when I saw the photo of a hunter and a dead bear. It is heartbreaking to see

a mighty fellow bear lying dead in a cold body. My heart lightened as I read another

report about the shutdown of Ripley Circus. I was so glad that some poor animals

don’t have to be tortured anymore. Flabbergasted with mixed emotions, I wrote a

letter to the editor to express my feelings on animals overkilling and the shutdown of

Ripley Circus. I gave a lot of advice, for example, setting up stricter laws to stop

animal hunting or cruelty, and promoting a boycott against the purchase of fur

products. However, all in all, living an eco-friendly lifestyle is the most important

one. At the point of finishing, I realised that this was my first letter to the editor - I

never would have thought that the writing skills learned at school could be so handy!

HEY, PADDINGTON, THE SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD LUNCH YOU HAD

PREPARED FOR ME YESTERDAY IS FINGER-LICKING GOOD! DON’T

FORGET TO MICROWAVE YOURS AND POST IT ON YOUR FACEBOOK!

Well, a bear can’t live without fish. I found a dish of baked salmon in the fridge with

a food label stuck on the cling wrap, Alaskan sustainable salmon. So I guessed this

was part of being whom I were, Paddington the Animal Ambassador. I took a snap

and posted it on the Facebook account downloaded on the smartphone I had, good

things need to be shared, right?

After lunch, the planner on the smartphone reminded me that I was supposed to give

a speech on animal protection in a primary school in downtown London. Thank god

that sparrow at home led the way and nagged about what I had to do every step of

the way! Although I am not a master of talks, I believe I handled it quite well with

my adorable charms. Not only did I receive unlimited hugs from young children,

impressed teachers shared how they were inspired to teach young children how we

could build a harmonious future in which humans and animals coexist peacefully.

The sun set as the sparrow led me home again. When the door opened, the warmth

of a fun-loving family swashed over me. Their selfless care for me struck me with

the thought that indeed, a family isn’t bonded with blood, but with love. As I ate at

the dinner table, I couldn’t help but realize between Heaven and Earth, every single

step of ours is at full throttle, while every single road can be twisting and turning.

The road to creating a peaceful world is hard and long, but nothing stops Paddington

as long as the fire keeps burning. Yet, I really wonder how long I will have to stay in

this unfamiliar life of mine….

As I took a sip from my glass, everything went black……..

(ix) 2016/17 Hands-On Stage Puppetry Competition

With a heart to voice out their perception of success in the stereotyped world, 5 of our

2D students, John Chan Tse Lok, Renee Cheung Hau Lam, Jasmine Kan Wing Kiu,

Tina Hue Hei Ting, Abby Sze Hiu Lam, and Kelly Yip Ka Yee, participated in the

2016/17 Hands-On Stage Puppetry Competition organised by the NET Section.

Together, the team gained hands-on experience drama script writing, puppetry-making,

and puppetry-staging with teamwork and precision.

(x) Choral Speaking can be fun!

1D participated in the Choral Speaking at the 68th Hong Kong Speech Festival on behalf

of our School with the poem A Song of Toad. Their performance was well-received by

the audience and the adjudicators. The class was awarded the 2nd Runner-up in the event.

(xi) English Drama Fest 2017

A group of students from various forms took part in the English Drama Fest 2017

organised by the Association of English Medium Secondary School at St. Mark’s

School on 26 April, 2017. Our school won the Award for Outstanding Script. Yiu Man

Ching from Class 3D won the Award for Outstanding Performer. The adjudicators were

impressed by the theme and plot of the story.

The production, The Price, is about Hong Kong’s education. The audience enjoyed the

show. The adjudicators were amazed by the production, as it could make the audience

ponder on Hong Kong’s education syetem.

(xii) Capacity Building Training Camp

The three-day-two-night Capacity Building Training Camp was held before the Human

Library as part of the ‘Be the Change’ initiative in April 2017. It provided ample

chances for our students to meet friends from different countries and know more about

cultures different from theirs. Students joined a wide variety of workshops held by

international delegates from Mainland China, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sri Lanka and

Taiwan. Our students also performed in a drama in a talent show. It was about the study

pressure teens in Hong Kong face nowadays. It was well-received by the foreign

delegates. Our enthusiasm for acting and the well-written script featuring current issues

were highly commended. It was a night of joy and laughter. Our students are more

aware of cultural differences after this inspiring camp.

(xiii) Human Library

On 24 April 2017, 10 international delegates from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Poland,

Spain and Sri Lanka came to our school as ‘human books’. They shared their customs,

languages and cultures with S1 to S5 students. Our students in turn asked them

questions about their countries. This activity not only promoted dialogues and

encouraged understanding, but also enabled our students to talk to people with different

English accents. Mobile boards were put outside the Human Library to show our

students the countries of origin of the delegates. Our students could even vote for the

best board!

(II) STEM Activities

為配合科學、科技、工程及數學(STEM)教育的發展,本校舉辦

不同類型的活動,以拓闊同學不同的知識領域和興趣。

(i) 海外考察研習活動

27 位中四及中五同學於 2017 年 3 月 31 日至 4 月 3 日到南韓首爾參觀當地的科

技設施,當中包括 Digital Pavilion 科技館、首爾能源夢想中心、國立科學館、三

星 D’light、KIA 車廠及數位媒體城等。同學除了認織到科學如何改善人類的生

活,更了解當地先進的科技發展。

(ii) 講座

3 月 3 日本校邀請了浸會大學講師朱福榮教授為同學舉辦了一場

科學講座,題目為「未來的照明」,內容包括講解不同的照明工具

及原理。同學除了在講座中認識到新一代的照明設施,亦對科學

研究和照明技術的發展加深了了解。

(iii) 參觀科技設施

23 位中一同學於 5 月 19 日下午到屯門 T-Park[源·區]參

觀。這座不僅是一座可以「轉廢為能」的污泥處理廠,更

集合了休閒活動和教育於一身。同學可了解污泥的處理

流程及參觀[源·區]內先進的設備,幫助同學建立資源回

收和循環再用的正面態度。

(iv) 校外公開比賽

本校 4 位中五同學在 5 月參加了本年度的「香港機關王競賽」,利用積木搭建不

同關卡。同學透過應用物理、化學、再生能源概念和機械運作原理在關卡設計上,

可培養解難能力和團體合作精神。

(v) 滑翔機製作課程

本校參加了「全港 STEM 小小科學家精英學習計劃」的滑翔機

製作課程。在過程中同學不但了解滑翔機的飛行理論,例如:白

努利定律、重心理論、流體力學等,他們亦利用所學的理論,以

簡單物料製作滑翔機。透過不斷嘗試發射,並加以改良,同學更

能掌握並運用飛機的力學原理。藉著這活動可培養同學科學研

究的態度與精神。

(vi) 水底機械人比賽

科技學會會員參加了本年度的「水底機械人比賽」。同學透過比賽學懂微電子控

制技術、製作防水鏡頭、機械臂等知識。最重要的是提升了面對困難的能力、改

進與別人溝通及合作的技巧。

(vii) 電機模型設計比賽

科技學會會員於 5 月 7 日參加了本年度的「電機模型設計比賽」。同學需製作太

陽能車和充電站,然後放在跑道上行走,以最大輸出能量定勝負。透過比賽同學

增加對電機工程的認識和興趣,以及提高對再生能源應用的認識。

(III) 視覺藝術科

由東區民政事務處主辦的「東區文化廣場圍板美化設計比賽」,本校 4B 唐銘蔚及

4B 林曉敏分別榮獲冠軍和亞軍,作品現正在筲箕灣工程項目圍板上展出。

由 am730 主辦的「全港中學學界賣橋王比賽」中,本校

兩隊中三同學共獲 6 個獎項。分別是「好鬼正

Storyboard」冠軍、「初級組品牌(珍寶)」優異獎 、「初級

組品牌 (WD-40) 」優異獎、「最 Fit 士撈勁」優異獎、

「至 Sell 得」優異獎和「好鬼正 Storyboard」優異獎。

兩隊同學分別為 Team A: 3A 胡家齊、3B 陳卓盈、廖芷

萱、鄧樂妍、黃嘉敏、3C 邱靖熙、3D 譚詩霓和蔡樂妍。

而 Team B: 3B 李佳蕙、3D 陳鈺珊、莊浚宇、金慧怡、

劉銘傑、李家強、漆琪、黃浩鏘和姚文靖。

他們在三月直接向評判 sell 橋,專業的評判團(包括品

牌代表、廣告設計師)會即時給予評語。學生能夠從專業

的評判團中,即時得到意見,真是獲益良多! 結果我們

在 200 多隊中獲得六個獎項,同學都表現得很雀躍,這

是第二年我們獲得如此佳績。

最佳模特兒冠、亞、季軍分別為

2D 朱靜珩(左)、2B 吳綽怡(中)

及 2A 管寶琳(右)。

由教育局主辦「伴你同行計劃 2017」,本校 4B 唐銘蔚從二百

多人中獲得「最佳學習獎」 。在歷時半年的計劃完成後,她

需要撰寫一篇關於藝術展覽的評賞報告。

為讓社區人士更認識本校及推廣藝術,

視覺藝術科參與了港鐵的「心繫社區行

動」,分別於在區內多個地鐵站的「社區

畫廊」展示我校傑出學生作品,包括杏

花村、柴灣、西灣河、太古及筲箕灣站。

作品內容多以社區、時事或生活為題,

除了可以與社區人士分享學習成果,更

帶出關心社區的信息。

由視覺藝術和英文科合辦的中二級時裝設計及

表演,展示出學生在誇課活動的學習成果。時裝

表演以「四季」為主題,學生深入探討主題,並

創作了具意義和可穿上的藝術品,從中還帶出正

向信息,例如:愛護大自然、提倡人和動物和諧

共處等。最後在時裝表演中,最佳組別冠、亞、

季軍分別為 2D 夏季 (右圖左二)、2D 春季 (右

圖右一) 及 2B 夏季 (右圖中間)。活動得以順利

進行,實有賴兩科老師的合作及同學的投入參與!

2. 校外活動

(I) 東區學校模範生

本校十分榮幸共有 9位學生於 2016-2017年度東區學校聯絡委員會及東區區議會

所舉辦的東區學校模範生及進步生獎勵計劃中獲奬。

大家好!我是筲官其中一位的 「熱熾傳城」青年大使。去年 11 月初,我和校內

三位同學參加了「熱熾傳城」青年大使計劃的培訓營。在營內,我認識到來自不

同學校的朋友。我們透過團隊的形式,齊心協力地完成任務!

培訓營結束後的一個多月,我和校內三位青年大使站在早會台上,向全校分享

培訓營的點點滴滴,宣傳「納米電影比賽」,並呼籲各位同學積極參與義務工

作,以樂觀正面的態度面對人生!

今年四月,我們為社區活動進行籌備工作,包括派發紀念品、邀請市民上流動

舞台車看 Your Choice 微電影,傳播正面的信息。五月,我們在東涌進行首次社

區活動。雖然天氣炎熱,但無阻各位組員宣傳正能量的心!

我們將於 7 月 1 日及至 7 月 2 日,下午 2 時正至 4 時正,在柴灣新翠天橋和公

園,進行第二次社區活動!繼續以我們熱誠的心、正面的態度,感染身邊的人,

讓整個社區充滿愛!

透過「熱熾傳城」青年大使計劃一連串的活動,讓我們心裏的那團熱火,燃燒

得更厲害,激發自己對社區貢獻一分微力。

與此同時,我們帶動同學參與義務工作,包括賣旗活動、為長者寫生命故事、

探訪長者等,相信大家都獲益良多!

4. 生涯規劃組

生涯規劃組致力為學生提供與工作有關的學習經歷,為了讓學生了解企業的運

作及近距離觀察工作社會的現實情況,本組在 3 至 5 月份帶領了約 100 名中四

及中五學生走出課堂,到不同職場參觀或作工作體驗,希望藉此難得的機會拓

展學生的視野,為未來的升學及事業作好準備。

(I) 教育局商校合作計劃 -- 參觀國泰城

學生心聲

4D 莫啓哲

「商校合作計劃」讓我校 23 位學生有機會到訪國泰城。

我們參觀了仿制行李寄艙櫃位,一嘗擔任地勤人員;觀察

空中服務員於仿真機艙進行考試,當中過程認真,大家都

肅然安靜;也目睹價值連城的波音 777 模擬駕駛器,了解

成為機師的要求與訓練流程。航空服務業一向予人一點神

秘的感覺,這次參觀的確令我大開眼界。

5D 黃藝翔

參觀國泰城實屬一個難得且難忘的經歷。或許我們對航空業的

接觸和認識不多,但這次活動使我獲益不少,更深入地了解這

個行業。首先,使我驚嘆的是國泰力臻完美的處事原則。他們

每年投放了過百萬的資金在培訓機師、空中服務員,以及航空

安全的各個方面上,這一切只為提供最好、最優質的服務給乘

客,這種處事態度十分值得我們學習。另外,更重要的是這次

活動使我對未來的升學和就業規劃有了更清晰的方向。帶領我

們參觀的職員不時會向我們透露自己對航空事業的喜愛和認

知,這使我明白到規劃人生目標時也應該考慮自己的興趣和愛

好,這樣才可以開創一條最適合自己的人生路。

(II) 人生及事業教育論壇 -- 參觀星晨旅遊

8 位中四學生浩浩蕩蕩前往位於九龍灣的星晨旅遊總

部參觀。當天下午,機構派出年資二十年的領隊,娓

娓道來她的入行經歷、工作的苦與樂和旅遊業前景

等,學生們聽得津津有味,簡介會後更主動向講者發

問,以深入了解這個行業,為未來加入職場做好準

備。會後講者帶領學生參觀總部不同的部門,並在星

晨旅遊九龍灣門市前留影。

(III) 人生與事業教育計劃 -- 參觀香港金域假日酒店

學生心聲

4B 莊雅婷

Ms Yvonne Wai 是我們在人生與事業教育計劃中的酒店

導師。在參觀過程中,我看到她每遇見酒店住客時都會

主動向他們問好,我很欣賞她的服務精神和熱情的態度,

令住客賓至如歸。後勤人員之間的關係也良好。不論是

房務員、主管還是經理,他們都互相寒暄問暖。我深信不

同部門間良好的溝通才能令到酒店順利營運,以最好的

素質服務顧客。

我在是次參觀了解到酒店業的基本結構,更釐清了我對

就業的看法。學歷固然重要,不過更重要的是有刻苦耐

勞和精益求精的精神。我們要趁現在好好裝備自己,為

將來的升學就業做好打算。

4C 孫江銘

以往,我對酒店業的了解甚少,很難想象一間龐大的酒

店背後是如何運作管理才可以令員工擁有強大的執行

力。經過這次的參觀,我深入酒店內部工作的具體情況,

了解到如何透過訓練及管理令酒店運作變得井井有條。

最重要的是我了解到酒店業的公平性,從事這一行業,

多由基層做起,努力和回報成正比。參觀之後,我對從

事酒店業更有興趣,在將來的就業計劃中,我會考慮選

擇從事這一行業。

4E 陳暄婷

參觀後讓我覺得投身於酒店業是十分具挑戰的,雖然說

學歷並不是入行的必要條件,但是這行業對個人的能力

和性格都有很多要求。酒店員工每天都辛努工作,也需

要和很多不同國家的人溝通,這對我來說是挑戰。我希

望日後我能增強說英文的自信和溝通技巧,充分地裝備

自己,希望有一天也能夠勝任和投身於酒店和其他行業。

(IV) 人生與事業教育計劃 -- 參觀中華電力有限公司電力工程學院

(V) 參觀彭博新聞社

在是次職場考察中,學生了解傳媒行業的現況與發展。

彭博新聞社為一報導全球商業、金融和財經信息的媒體,

當日彭博新聞社社長親自帶領學生參觀,讓學生了解新

聞編輯的工作及其企業文化,學生亦實地參觀了彭博作

直播的新聞錄影室,其後更有機會與一位剛入行的記者

面談,進一步了解傳媒工作實況與苦樂。最後,彭博新聞

社社長寄語同學努力追尋理想和作多方面的嘗試。

(VI) 賽馬會鼓掌創你程計劃 -- 參觀消防處

學生心聲

4D 陳子菁

在參觀之前,我對消防員的認

識十分片面,只覺得這是個高

危的職業,也不認識消防員的職位和入職要求。但在參觀

過程中改變了我對消防員的認識,我認識到消防員雖然

是份高危辛苦的職業,但經過嚴格訓練,加上完善的設施

和裝備,已經將他們的危險降到最低。另外,我認識了不

是只有男生才能勝任消防員,女生也可以入職,讓我對

將來的職業規劃有了新的想法。

5B 陳樹燊

在是次參觀中,一個令我最深刻的人應是在活動完結前

來和我們進行分享,仍在受訓的消防學員。他穿着整齊

的「黄金戰衣」,在他的分享中,我充分感受到他對消防

這份工作的喜愛和熱誠。另外,學院的訓練設施無疑使

我留下深刻的印象,讓我們實地了解消防救護學院。當

日我們亦能夠近距離觀看學員日常訓練,包括步操以及

使用各項不同的設施。

(VII) 參觀德寵開心天地

在位於清水灣井欄樹的德寵開心天地的職場考察中,學生了

解寵物美容業的現況和發展。當日機構的主管先向同學詳細

介紹專業寵物美容師的基礎、進階及深造證書課程,讓學生

認識寵物美容師的工作性質及入職條件,其後又特別安排學

生親身體驗如何接觸陌生動物,了解箇中竅門。學生更實地

參觀寵物美容的不同設施及儀器,例如室內恆溫水療泳池及

負離子靜音吹風機。是次參觀除了有助同學開展生涯規劃

外,還加深他們愛護動物及尊重生命的價值觀。

(VIII) 教育局商校合作計劃 -- 廣博中醫治

療中心工作體驗

5A 劉曉俊

在 3 月 28 日至 3 月 29 日期間,我參與了廣博中醫

治療中心的工作體驗活動。駐診的醫師是朱恩博

士,他是一位經驗豐富的教授,很多病人也慕名而

來。他是香港註冊中醫學會副會長,也是世界中醫

藥學會聯合會理事。任何關於中醫的問題,教授也

非常樂意解答。教授在治療病人期間,不但會使用

中醫的看診、問診和聽診技巧,也會利用針灸和推

拿的技巧,以求令病人藥到病除,完美地演繹妙手

仁心的意思。

此外,診所內的助手也非常樂意與我們分享他們的

知識,例如照顧病人的技巧、清潔治療室以及為病

人執藥的方法。這次工作體驗之旅可算是獲益良

多,讓我能對中醫這個行業有更深入的認識。

5. 德育及公民教育組

(I)「香港青年史學家年奬奬學金計劃」(2016/17)

中六級何錦嫦同學申請香港大學中史研究碩士同學會主辦的

「香港青年史學家年奬奬學金計劃」(2016/17),她以「我對研

習中國歷史與文化的想法與願景」為題,抒發對國家歷史及

文化的情懷:「雖然我只是一名中學生,對社會暫未有貢獻,

但我相信只要傾心鑽研中國歷史及文化,往後進修此範疇,

必定能盡我一點綿力將其中的奧妙發揚光大,把浩如煙海的

中國歷史和文化承傳萬世。因此,我會在大學盡心盡力修讀

中國歷史及文化,務求付出大量心力和時間研習,將來能為社

會和諧作出貢獻,從而弘揚中華文化,傳承中華美德。」

(II)「全港中學中國歷史研習獎勵計劃 (2016/17)

七位同學參加由香港大學中國歷史研究碩士同學會舉辦的「全港

中學中國歷史研習獎勵計劃(2016/2017) 」。其研習主題如下:

(III)「追昔究源.開拓瞻前」虎門、佛山兩天探究之旅

為了擴闊學生視野,並配合中國歷史科「近代中國」單元施

教,中國歷史科、世史科、通識科與德育及公民教育組於 2017

年 4 月 6 至 7 日舉辦「追昔究源.開拓瞻前」虎門、佛山兩

天探究之旅。學生能透過到虎門鴉片戰爭博物館考察,追昔

林則徐禁煙的歷史遺跡。學生於參觀佛山民間工藝,承傳中

國傳統文化特色;親睹佛山建築、嶺南天地,見證運用現代

化的手法保育祖廟歷史建築群,開拓商業與活化歷史建築之巧妙。並思考現今中

國可持續發展之項目,對香港在經濟及文化兩方面的得著及啟示,確證保育與可

持續發展之共存,擴闊視野。更通過與南海丹灶中學之跨港服務,與內地學生作

環保教育交流活動,宣揚本港環保發展,實踐全方位學習的精神,培養學生敢於

承擔的品格,貢獻社會。考察之旅後學生寫出反思與心聲:

「在這次交流團中,可以學習到不少書本上沒有的知識,能

了解到佛山的傳統文化,更能了解到鴉片戰爭中更深入的知

識,也可以去參觀南海丹灶中學,認識到不同的教育方案,

也吃到不少當地特色的美食、小食。」

「這次的旅行中,參觀了許多地方,也學到了不同的知識,那

是在課本裏學不到的東西。」

「我認為我們都過得太無憂無慮了,南海中學的學生都視學

業成績為生命,因若考不到高中就要回老家,他們努力競爭的

心態,令人敬佩。」

「我認為這次探究之旅,令我深深感受到傳統文化的魅力。希

望像剪紙、雕刻、粵劇、歷史建築等富有歷史意義的東西,可

好好地,一直地保存下去。」

3D 陳鈺珊:「開拓瞻前——可持續發展」探究

「在中國四大古鎮之一的佛山有一片嶺南天地,是佛山最具嶺南特色的街道。這

裏保存了中國其中一個最完整的古建築物群,如:孔廟、嫁娶屋、李眾勝堂祖廟

等 22處文物建築和街道。參觀後我發現當地政府發展經濟同時兼顧了文化保育。

嶺南天地保留了原有的特色歷史文化,同時融合時尚元素和現代化的設施。除此

之外,更運用了現代化的手法保護改造了祖廟東華里,商業化和活化歷史建築相

互配合,取得了空前的大成功。

香港現時已推出活化歷史建築伙伴計劃,讓市民知道文物保育的重要性以及平衡

文物保育及經濟發展。例如港府早於 1990 年活化美利樓,使美利樓在擔起傳承

歷史文化的角色時,同時注重經濟發展。在活化建築方面香港應以嶺南天地為例,

在保留固有歷史價值同時增添商業色彩。如景賢里活化時,我們應保留它融合了

中西建築文化的獨特色彩,同時活化成康樂設施如公園等。亦能讓人在景賢里逛

逛,開放給市民及遊客參觀。達到了文化傳承及發展經濟的目的。」

去年的 3 月份香港筲箕灣官立中學師生就曾來到我校開展交流

活動,近日,為加強香港與內地的溝通,該校師生訪問團一行 44

人第二度到我校開展交流活動。故地重遊,相信會給他們多一份

收穫!此次活動加強了香港與內地的溝通,兩地文化得以相互

交流,雙方學生對彼此的瞭解更加深入。衷心希望兩地友誼之花

永遠綻放,兩地友誼之樹永常青!

(IV)「追昔究源.開拓瞻前」虎門、佛山兩天探究之旅早會分享

中三級蔡佩珊、麥素沂、陳紫情、陳鈺珊及黃美

琪同學於本年 4 月參加「追昔究源.開拓瞻前」

虎門、佛山兩天探究之旅,於 5 月早會向全校同

學分享交流心聲:

「經過這次到佛山交流後,讓我深切的體會『讀

萬卷書,不如走萬里路』這道理。這次走出課堂,

除了增進了對鴉片戰爭歷史、民間工藝的認識,

更在和南海丹灶中學交流時,探究了中港兩地對

環境保育的發展,真是獲益良多。」

「通過這次交流及考察,我對兩地的歷史加深了認識,

並能實在地欣賞到博大精深的傳統文化,使我獲益良多。

與此同時,我反思到應珍惜和盡力保育古人流傳的文化,

這樣後世才有機會再次欣賞文物,能在『文化綠洲』中

獲益。」

「我認為今次的旅程很充實,我們除了學到了林則徐銷

煙等書本以外的知識,我們還見識到中國的手工藝文化

和武術等等,最後的交流也令我們學會了如何跟國內學

生溝通,交流彼此的學習經歷,我認為今次的旅程很美

滿,使我在短短兩天獲益良多。」

(V) 南海丹灶鎮初級中學互訪交流

本年度本校中三級舉行「追昔究源.開拓瞻前」虎門、

佛山兩天探究之旅,與南海丹灶鎮初級中學學生作環

保教育交流活動,該校校長及師生共 36 人浩浩蕩蕩於

2017 年 5 月 19 日到本校作回訪交流。當天他們先到

禮堂觀賞學生音樂會,繼而分為三組參加特訂之學習

活動,包括:數學趣味遊戲、製作環保驅蚊膏及滑翔

機製作,校園遊後再由本校學生代表介紹筲官特色,

最後更與本校童軍、女童軍、紅十字會及航空青年團

各制服團隊交流。

(VI)參觀立法會綜合大樓

本組於 5 月 19 日帶領中四級同學參觀立法會綜合大樓參觀,當天除了可以參觀

立法會綜合大樓內的設施,了解香港立法會的歷史發展外,還進行了角色扮演,

同學分別扮演立法會主席、教育局局長及議員等角色,模擬立法及通過議案的程

序。

(VII) 班際壁報設計比賽

本年度「班際壁報設計比賽」主題為「動力熱誠滿校園.創意關愛拓人生」;比

賽目的是透過壁報設計,希望同學能將個人熱誠、關愛之道德意識和創意之動力

凝聚起來,從而提升成長階段中在校園及社會「勇於承擔」及「關愛」的正面價

值觀和態度。各班壁報設計皆切合主題兼具創意及美感。班際壁報設計比賽獎項

(VIII)「香江傳承」歷史文化學習計劃 2017

中五級同學於本年 5 月參加「香江傳承」歷史

文化學習計劃 2017,到饒宗頤文化館進行各項

活動,包括:藉用餐體驗,了解企業社會責任、

環保概念及中式用餐文化;並參觀「香港百年

蛻變」圖片展覽;進行歷史場景體驗表演,並

榮獲嘉許獎狀;最後由顧問嘉賓劉智鵬教授講

解「香港的故事」歷史課題講座,同學獲益良多。

(IX) 公民德育講場

本年度公民德育「講」場於 3 月 31 日舉行,參加班別分

別是中四及中五各班,議題是:「垃圾徵費能否有效解決

都市固體廢物問題?」各班代表就議題投入討論。是次比

賽冠軍是 5A 班陳子維同學,最佳台下發言獎的得獎者是

4D 班莫啓哲同學。

(X)「動力熱誠滿校園.創意關愛拓人生」普通話故事演講比賽

中二級於 3 月進行普通話故事演講比賽,內容須呼應本年度「動力熱誠滿校園.

創意關愛拓人生」的主題。各班同學分組構思內容情節,並在課餘時間排練。同

學演講時態度認真、投入,藉此鞏固及掌握普通話詞彙與語音知識。各班選出一

組優勝者,得獎名單如下:

「肩負承傳‧創新文化」之士演繹比賽,目的是透過演繹該人物的事蹟及嘉言懿

行,對當世作出的貢獻,對後世歴史發展的影響等,凸顯此人物的德行和高尚的

情操,令同學學習相關的歷史知識及培養良好的品德。

(XII)「京港澳學生交流夏令營」2017

本科推薦五名修讀中史及世史科優秀學生—陳樹燊、陸曉嵐、鄭樂琳、黃藝翔及

謝采怡參加「京港澳學生交流夏令營」2017 活動。夏令營的目的是為北京、香港

和澳門三地中學生提供交流的機會,並加深他們對三地歷史和發展的了解。夏令

營將於 2017 年 7 月 21 日至 27 日在北京舉行,為期 7 天,預計約有 200 名來自北京

及澳門的師生參加。

本學年「生命教育」已進行八個課節,此課節目的是提升學生正面的價值觀和

積極的健康生活模式。本年度主題為「動力熱誠滿校園.創意關愛拓人生」。從

各級學生的「生命教育歷程摘錄」反映學生認為此課節能幫助他們解決成長的

疑難,更令同學獲益良多。全年度學生對生命教育課作出評估,中一至中六學

生評價十分正面,指課堂內容很實用,有助他們訂立「生涯規劃」目標;提升

面對逆境的能力,從而培養正面的價值觀,建立積極的

人生態度,為理想的社會工作生活作好準備。從各級在

「學生生命教育歷程摘錄」的反思可見,同學在課程中

獲益良多,對課程各項活動亦有很深的認識,例如高中

同學在大專院校分享中,得到不少與升學有關的資訊,

收生要求和課程內容,使他們對未來的路向更加清楚,

也加深了對各院校文化的認識,相信對他們的未來升學

及院校生活有一定幫助。另一方面,他們及亦能體會其

他課節活動的意義,例如話劇表演所宣傳的可持續發展和反貪污的訊息,相信

這系列的活動和課節,不但能使同學們更清楚未來的方向和目標,也灌輸了正

確健康的人生觀,以及引起了對社會問題的注意,對同學的成長有莫大的裨

益。更重要的是,在生命教育課節中學到熱誠和關愛等價值觀,並能在未來的

人生中應用,對社會發揮最大的效益。由此可見同學評價正面,反映課堂有助

他們定立生涯目標。

7.學生輔導組

(I) 中三級生命飛躍訓練營

24 位中三級同學於 5 月 19 日在周羨容老師及

林旭艷老師的帶領下,前往香港青年協會賽馬

會西貢戶外訓練營參加了本組舉辦的生命飛躍

訓練營。導師透過不同的活動及歷奇訓練,啟

發學生的潛能,要求他們突破自我的限制,完

成一個又一個艱難的任務。學生在過程中需要

付出勇氣、忍耐和毅力。本組期望他們日後能

運用在營內所學,迎接高中學業的挑戰。學生

於兩日一夜的訓練期間積極投入,樂於分享,

願意挑戰自我,發揮了互助團結的精神。

8.健康及性教育組

健康及性教育組連同家政學會於 5 月 17 日舉辦了生果日,希望推動多吃生果的

飲食習慣。當天學生及全體教職員均可享用新鮮生果。

9.環保教育組

(I) 參觀沙田污水處理廠

為了讓同學了解香港污水處理的方法,明白可持續發展的理

念及透視將來潛在的工作前景,本校環保教育組及科學及天

文學會於 2017 年 3 月 3 日帶領 25 位同學參觀沙田污水處理

廠。在參觀中,同學不但有機會認識香港的防洪、污水收集、

處理及排放工作,亦能親身到不同污水處理的設施,深入瞭解

香港處理污水的各步驟。同學可藉著這機會對日常生活的環保

意識作出反思,承諾日後會珍惜水資源。

(II)《食物博物館》話劇

為提升同學的正面價值觀及可持續的健康生活模式,本組

參加了可持續發展委員會主辦並由 iStage 劇團演出的《食

物博物館》。故事講述大型企業為了賺取暴利,罔顧大自

然的能力,過度地捕魚、放牧及耕作,耗盡自然資源。演

員與同學的互動環節讓他們反思自己的消費模式,學會珍

惜糧食為可持續發展出一份力。

(III) 參觀青衣化學廢物處理中心

本校環保教育組及綜合科學科帶領 25 位同學參

觀青衣化學廢物處理中心,讓同學認識香港如何

回收及處理化學廢料,亦讓他們認識化驗師的

工作。

(IV) 知慳惜電班際節約能源比賽

為了鼓勵同學養成珍惜能源的習慣,本組及地理科

舉辦了為期兩週的知慳惜電班際節約能源比賽。透

過比賽期望同學能形成對環境的道德觀及建立長遠

和可持續的環保文化。這次比賽很高興看到大部份

的班別都能珍惜及善用資源。

10.學會活動

(I) Maths Club Danzao Junior Secondary School and Shau Kei Wan

Government Secondary School

What a marvellous time to study together!

In order to strengthen the communication between Hong Kong

and the Mainland, our school's teachers and students visited

Foshan and Humen during 6-7 April, 2017. We visited Foshan

Shi Nanhai Qu Danzao Junior Secondary School in the second

morning. Our students joined their campus tours and did

exercises with them. Everyone felt excited about the exchange.

After that, our students had a chance to communicate with the

students in Putonghua in order to improve their speaking

fluency. Through the interaction, they understood more about

the Hong Kong and Chinese culture and how students study in

two different education systems. Students were delighted to

make acquaintance with Danzao students and took photos with

them. As a small token of appreciation, we gave them some

handmade gifts and taught them how to fold 24-faced

polyhedra. They all felt interested in it. This exchange helped

students to enrich their experience and widen their horizons.

Mr Ho Wing Shing, the principal of Danzao Junior Secondary

School, wished that he, his teachers and students could come

to Hong Kong and visit our school on 19 May 2017.

Danzao students were divided into three groups and visited our

campus with our school tour guides. There were three

activities, including fun math games, environmental anti-bug

balm making and glider making for them to join. Everyone

enjoyed the games very much. These games helped to improve

students’ thinking skills by attempting challenging questions.

The games not only taught the students different mathematical

knowledge and the history of mathematics, but also helped to

develop their interest on mathematics and science. They all

had a taste of STEM education in Hong Kong and discerned

how we combine all elements from STEM during lessons or

ECAs so as to foster our learning motivation beyond

classrooms. All the Danzao students were friendly and polite.

They followed all the instructions carefully and participated in

the games actively.

(II) 女童軍

3C 范彩銀

第 38 屆國際兒童繪畫比賽暨公開攝影比賽「夢想『童』行」於 2017 年 4 月 9 日

上午 9 時至下午 1 時在九龍公園露天廣場進行。當天天氣很好,氣氛非常熱鬧。

我擔當的工作崗位是詢問處的工作人員,主要職責是告訴參賽者在哪裡取畫紙和

提交作品。當天活動舉行得非常順利,看到潛能無限的小朋友們當天能透過畫紙、

顏料來發揮自己的小宇宙,向夢想進發,我覺得很有意義!能與活動的大使──

吳鎧凝(美心妹妹)合照,我十分開心。

(III) 戲劇學會

本校戲劇學會於香港學校戲劇節 2016/17 中獲得「評判推介演出獎」、「傑出劇

本獎」、「傑出導演獎」、「傑出演員獎」、「傑出舞台效果獎」及「傑出合作

獎」,並榮獲大會評判甄選為本年度公開演出的參演學校,於 2017 年 5 月 6 日

在西灣河文娛中心公開演出。現場反應十分熱烈,令人鼓舞。

大會評判讚賞本劇在故事題材上敢於嘗試,劇場鋪排見心思,學生整體演出已有

相當水準;個別學生在拿捏角色上已超越中學生的水準。評判在表演過程中感受

到學校、老師及學生對戲劇全情投入的熱誠及支持。
